Justice Labelle always had her life perfectly planned. Her goals were to graduate from the University with exceptional grades and get into the best law school Canada has to offer.

Then one day, Justice tried to kill herself. Well, not her technically. It may have been Justice Morel's body, but those actions weren't intentional and the suicidal thoughts were not hers. Or, so she keeps telling her therapist and family.

Justice is afraid she’s losing her mind and just wants to forget everything. But when her best friend is murdered, another one is being mind-screwed by a Vampyre, and her ex is back in town, looking as scrumptious as ever and very suspicious, maybe she isn't all that crazy!

Just when she thinks that life couldn't throw her anymore curve balls, Justice figures out that she is Vampyre Doll and there's a vampyre who seems very familiar to her, but she can't figure out from where.

Justice is suffocating and drowning in a dark world she's been tossed into, forced to survive. It’s a world she never wanted to know about and would love to ignore, like it doesn't exist. But, with every passing day, she's pulled deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, wishing for everything to go back to the way it was.

Kindle Unlimited if you fancy checking out more paranormal book go to www.facebook.com/ParanormalBookFest

I ummed and ahhed whether to show this one up as a 4 star or 5, my rating is a 4.5. This was well done, the editing wasn't that bad for an indie (although I still correct all the phonetic errors in my mind). I enjoyed the protagonist's character and really, really enjoyed the fact that when she made bad decisions she knew it, and has no qualms looking back and going 'that was really stupid'.

The vampires were all of the sexy variety as in the 'they're beautiful to be effective predators' angle, which has been done before but was carried out in an OK manner.

If you love classic vampire novels, and the sexy, bad boy as a love interest, then this is a novel for you. No sex in this one, but plenty of hot & steamy in the next book.

Did it all start with the visit to the psychic on her twenty-first birthday? Justice’s life just became a thing of fantasy, dark fantasy and no one in their right mind would believe her if she told them about it, or would they? When the psychic said her night would be filled with surprises, she would meet someone who was her destiny and she would die within a year, well, of course, she was disbelieving, but now, two out of three things have happened and just maybe the sands of time are running out on her short life. The biggest surprise the night of her birthday party was that Calvin, her ex, the one who walked out on her, was there, what the heck? Talk about a downer, but there is something different about Calvin, his face is more serious, etched with the lines of life, why?
Enter her dashing stranger, who always seem to be there when she needs saving. His name is Dante, but he frightens her with his intensity, his air of danger.

She is confused, frightened, yet there is an electric charge between the two of them, something almost otherworldly. Could it be that there are creatures that go bump in the night? Do vampyres really exist? What could they want with Justice and why is Calvin hellbent on keeping her away from them, including Dante, equally enthralling and repelling “bad boy?”

Whoa! Shelique Lize’s Velicious-Part One is a stunner! A little dark, a little edgy, and comes complete with a fabulous plot! Ms. Lize writes believable characters, some dark, some quirky and some just plain mysterious, but it is Justice who steals the show as she handles her “new” life with an inner strength that is admirable. Sure, she’s terrified, sure she is half worried she is losing her mind, but her maturity is refreshing, even if she isn’t sure what to do, she gets right out there and tries to find answers.

Shelique Lize has done herself proud with a tale that deserves to be read and talked about, even in a world already filled with blood sucking vamps, there is always room for one more great take on their world.

I received this copy from Shelique Lize in exchange for my honest review.

Justice is thrown into a world she never knew existed even though surrounded her the whole time. She is confused, frightened.

This book had everything a psychic who told Justice that things would happen to her, one she would meet a handsome stranger secondly she would die within the year, talk about the good with the bad!
The book continues you on as her ex Calvin enters her life again and she realizes he still has feelings for her, to make it worst she meets her handsome stranger, his name Dante, the man who saves her each time she is put into a dangerous situation.
The authors words were flawless, the ease of her words made the flow of the book work wonderfully.

Justice is going to college and trying to move on past a terrifying experience in her past – but when she visits a psychic on her 21st birthday, it’s a herald of old events returning and a whole new world of vampyres and hunters opening up to her.

She can’t go back to a normal life, however she tries to, but at least there are plenty of sexy guys along the way

I think what this book needed more than anything else was a proof reader and an editor – the lack of both shows sadly and it really hurts the story.

The most obvious indication of this comes from quite a few errors in the text – there’s a fair amount of malapropisms or bad spellcheck (“were” instead of “we’re” and engine is “revived” rather than “revved” and there’s some rather bizarre conjuration of the verb “bound”). Some of the sentences were really oddly structured and clearly missing words that just cried out for a good read through and edit. The tense shifted a lot as well, even mid conversation we’d have one person urgently in the present tense but the person he’s speaking to is happily delivering his lines in a more laid back past tense. It doesn’t help make the book readable.

Next to that we also have some more common and less glaring issues – like severe word abuse and over-elaborate and convoluted dialogue and too much thesaurus thumbing (most people “think”, it’s rarely necessary for them to “ponder” and people can talk, all this mumbling is unnecessary).

But the lack of line editing underscores that this whole book could have used a polish – someone to read through it and say things like “this isn’t necessary” or “who is this person? Why are they here?” or “Chekhov’s gun needs to apply” because it really needs it.

Take the characters – this is a 216 page book. In that relatively short book I have Justice (also – unless she has a cape and super-powers “Justice” is a bad choice of name) the protagonist. Her big sister Mya, her little sister Kailah, her two best friends Audrina and Nicolle. Audrina’s on-and-off boyfriend Anthony. Justice’s ex, Calvin and a possible love interest Chace. And Jordan. I have no real idea where Jordan fits into things but the does. And there’s Justice’s ex-friend Erin.

Then there’s Calvin and his team: Jessica, Bianca, Kyle, Vincent and Jonathon. Then there’s the actual vampyres (yes with a “y”), Dante, Marquis, Angel, Chalice, Tayce and Nolanna. And odd psychic Selena

That’s about 16 significant and 5 potentially significant characters in a 216 page book. And I say significant for a reason because there’s a whole lot more names we pass by. Normally that’d be understandable, don’t make extras nameless nobodies – but there is such a soup of names here that when Justice describes someone going past one of her sorority sister’s rooms using their names I’m suddenly wondering if these are more characters I’ve missed and who exactly they are.

Justice was turning 21 today. Her sister Mya had a surprise for her. She was taking her to see a psychic. Oh joy! Not. Justice didn’t believe in those kinds of things. What she learns from her “reading” is that one, she will meet a handsome stranger and it shall be destiny. Two, she will die within a year. Her night was going to be full of surprises. Her ex Calvin shows up at her party. She couldn’t believe he showed up thinking she would be happy to see him. Justice tries to get away and ends up meeting a rude but very handsome stranger. Could he be the one the psychic was talking about? Things ended bad with Calvin. After seeing each other after many years, it seems Calvin still has feelings for her. To make things even more complicated the sexy rude stranger whose name is Dante, makes her feel things she has never felt before. They keep running into each other at different places. Justice begins to notice weird things happening. She is aware that other things like vampires do exist in our world and Calvin is somehow involved. Justice has escaped death more than once and it was Dante that saved her each time. It’s obvious that her life is in danger. The two men want to protect her but can’t see eye to eye. Justice must try to stay alive but at the same time deal with her feelings and possibly chose a guy. What is a gal to do?

I truly enjoyed this story! It was great. The author wrote some good characters in the story and I was laughing and shaking my head a lot as I was reading. Two of my favorite characters were the vampire twins, Dante and Marquis. Talk about awesomeness! There were some parts in the book that I felt didn’t need to get mentioned every time such as someone wearing blue contacts. There was some editing issues but not enough to ruin the story for me. I can’t wait for the next one! I give this 4 stars!

Velicious by Shelique Lize was an excellent choice for me as an Independent Reviewer for Paranormal Books and Authors that Rock. I completely and thoroughly enjoyed every word. Justice is drawn into a world she never knew existed even though it was all around her the entire time. She is confused, tormented, but far from suicidal, as the doctors seem to be convinced. Of course, they don't realize the manipulations that have been used against her.

The author kept me turning pages, her story and her characters both fascinating me and intriguing me. I will anxiously await the second edition, to find out what happens next in the world of Justice and her friends. While there is a tiny bit of romance threaded into the story line, the action is fast paced and the main focus. Recommended for any age reader, especially if they are fans of True Blood, Walking Dead, or any of the bloodier, gorier series out there at the moment!

I've read many books about vampires and some are done well and some not so much.

This one is the former. The dialogue is for grownups and the plot sophisticated with intricate characters.
Without sounding to cliche-ish it really is a page turner.

There is no filler like some authors tend to do or repetitive plotlines.
The cadence of the pacing of the storyline is almost rhythmic, another reason you'll have a hard time putting it down.

The imagery at times is graphic which is not over the top but rather enhances the story and captivates the reader.

The ending caught me by surprise which is a good thing. It was not what I was predicting.

I was not sure on if I was going to like this book, because the first few chapters just did not make sense to me. Than all of a sudden I could not put the book down. What is going to happen to Jessica? Who is she going to pick to protect her? Who is she going to love? Can she accept everything that is happening? I would suggest this book for teens and young adults to read. I received a arc copy for my honest review.

I am really glad I got to read this book. I know I am late on the review because I was moving and I finally got internet today. So now I can do this review and many many more. So bear with me while I tell you all about this book muhaha.

Justice (which is a great choice of a name btw) is turning 21 and her sister Mya wants to take her out to have fun and party. But before they go anywhere she takes her to a psychic and she tells her this crazy stuff about meeting a man and it is her destiny and she can't fight it. Well she is like whatever, I don't believe this crap I am turning 21 lets go party. She runs into an asshole who changes her life forever, it isn't the first time they run into each other. Unfortunately, her sister decided it was ok to invite her ex boyfriend who she has missed dearly and is extremely pissed at him to the party, so she leaves and sees Erin being dragged away by some homeless guy. Erin becomes a big weirdo in Justice's eyes once she is back in school and everything. Her ex shows up multiply times trying to make everything better, he apologizes and she takes it. But for some reason she is having this weird connection to Dante, everytime they touch it is electrifying and hot.

Justice, she is a fighter and a lover. She was hurt for what her ex did to her but she still missed him. She took the fact that vampires were real, really well, she didn't have a panic attack. Dante, is a cocky vampire who thinks he is the bomb. His brother is a little less over dramatic then he is and a big gentleman.

The book and the storyline itself was great. I like the fact that Justice and Dante didn't get together right away, but they are slowly coming together. I am use to the connect being there quickly an them together somewhere halfway in the book. But this one was different, they ran into each other, felt the connection, getting somewhat close to each other, but they want to know why the connection is there before making the big move. I can't wait for the 2nd one, the ending to this one is driving me nuts XD.

There are some places that were confusing and had some issues with grammar and syntax but for me it did not take away from the book to such an extent that I could not finish it.

The book starts with hunters going after this creature that apparently takes over a human body. This will come back into play later so remember the people and the creature.

So the book then flashes to Justice, the main character of the book on the eve of her birthday spending some family required time with a therapist. Following that the book jumps into a rabbit hole with a psychic, vampires, parties, and creatures from what you would think is from hell, although it really isn't clear where the creature is from, just comments that elude to it being a genetic experiment.

This story is a strong novel in that the character development is good and there is a good story in there with a good good guys and bad bad guys. I enjoyed this book although you can tell that this has some rough edges. I would read future books from this author and in this series if nothing more than to figure out what that nasty creature is and how Justice is affiliated with vampires in what could have been a different life.

Overall this is a solid 4 star book and I think that one with a unique concept that with the tweaks could be a best seller and one that I will gladly promote.

A Great Paranormal Read
Never having read this author, I wasn't sure what to expect, but with the lure of the paranormal, I had to give it a shot. I am glad that I did. The author has written a story with a great and unique plot, and is also very unique with her verbiage. I really ended up loving this book. I admit that I wasn't sure at first because it was kind of a slow starter in my opinion, but keep going because it gets really good! First let me say that I love the name of the main character Justice, though at times I felt so frustrated with her I wanted to scream. She is definitely not a take charge bad ass heroine, but more a damsel in distress, which is more realistic of how I think most of us would act if we were in her shoes. She has way too many reasons to be distressed though, for certain. I love how the author threw in twist after twist, and am now in agony waiting for the next installment of this series because of the totally epic cliffhanger! I have so many questions! What just happened m? Who can Justice trust? Who is her mystery Vamp? I could go on and on. I can't wait for the next book! I was generously provided a complimentary copy of this book by the author for an honest review.

WOW! THIS BOOK BLEW MY MIND! It begins with Calvin and Jessica chasing a parasitic monster inside of a human's dying body (that is after a girl escapes a sexy man's lair). Fast forward to Justice Labelle, sorority sister. She attempted suicide, or did she? She gets cryptic and confounding news from her sister's psychic on the eve of her 21st birthday. The predictions start to make sense at her birthday party when she is slammed into a jerk who can't watch where he is going. Who is this ass and why is he so vulgar?

I love the interaction between Justice and Dante. She can't get him out of her mind, and visa versa. The sexual tension electrified even the reader!!!! Her ex-boyfriend shows up to put a crimp in her style after vanishing for 3 years. And, what the hell happens to her best friend? Who can Justice trust, and who should she stay away from and how? Midterms are coming up soon, and she is trying to get into law school next year!!!! Good thing there is a sequel I can sink my teeth into right away!!!

Thank you Shelique Lize for giving me a free copy of this book to read and give my honest review.

I received this for my honest review. you get to know Justice, who is having trouble with her life between classes at a prestigious law school, dealing with a house of her sorority sisters, and troubles with her ex-boyfriend Calvin, she really didn’t need a force from somewhere inside her directing her to kill herself. Justice has to convince her family and her therapist that she isn’t crazy or suicidal, she was doing well until her sister takes her to a psychic for her birthday and the psychic gives her a very specific reading about a man entering his life. This is when Justice begins to notice weird things happening, she is aware that other things like vampires do exist in our world and Calvin is somehow involved. She has escaped death more than once and it was Dante( the stranger that keeps appearing where ever she is) who has been the one to save her. Dante and Calvin don't get on there is bad history there while Justice tries to stay alive but at the same time deal with her feelings and possibly chose a guy.......... there is so much to this story you won't be disappointed

Justice's life has been off kilter ever since the night she heard the the voice in her head but she never expected just how crazy things would become after the night she went to see a psychic. Now with the psychic's grim prediction starting to coming true Justice is running out of time to figure out just what is really going on before it's too late.

For me the layout of the story is a bit scattered and some of the wording is a bit hard to follow. There were so many characters introduced I also had a hard time keeping everyone strait and connecting with the main character and her friends. I did really love the twins Dante and Marquis and the vampyre and Cerberus organizations were interesting and I would have loved to know more about them. I really liked the overall plot of the story and it has a lot of potential for continuing the series but I feel like it would definitely benefit from a good once over to pull it together so it can really shine.

Given To Me For An Honest Review

Velicious: Is Sadistically & Irresistibly, Delicious! by Shelique Lize is her debut novel and a page turner. Once you open the book, it's going to grab you and hold you down real tight and you'll watch those pages turn and turn and turn some more until you reach the last page. You'll find twists and turns as you read. Be sure that you have your seatbelt on because you will be going on a wild adventure. The story does start out a bit slow but when it picks up you just don't want to put it down .... well, the book won't let you put it down. As you read, before long you are drawn in to where to feel as though you have become part of the story. What will become of Justice? Will she end up with Calvin or Dante? ****WARNING**** Cliffhanger ..... Sequel???? I recommend this book to everyone. I look for more great reads from Shelique Lize and waiting for the Sequel?

My favorite part of Velicious Part One was when Mya took Justice to see the psychic and what happened with her reading. This started the strange and twisted events in her life.

Two guys looking out for Justice but not being able to get together to protect her added alpha vibs to the story that was hot.

Velicious Part One was not what I expected but it was much better.

Surprisingly I actually took quite a liking to Vampyre Doll. It sadly had many faults, bet the bits and parts that worked, worked very well.

It didn’t take much to get invested in this book. It started of great, right on with mysteries and vague incidents that pulled curious me right into the story and held me there for the most part til the end. I am always into drama so the cheating ex and the impolite stranger and intriguing stranger (or rather strangers) called to my heart. I am a bit displeased that the story didn’t fully go along with that subject matter the way I wanted, since Justice was pretty quick to forgive and let go, especially in the end when she found out that Calvin had purposefully hurt her. The whole relationship with her and Dante however I was fully along for the ride with the bickering and the hot and the cold. I just wish that the writing didn’t make the journey so difficult.

I don’t want to be too harsh, but the way the story was written made it come across as if the author’s first language wasn’t English. There were errors in every other sentence and at times big enough errors that it made the sentence and even the whole scene real difficult to figure out. Not only that but the way the story was told it was like I as the reader was expected to know certain things beforehand without the book explaining anything, or when an essential explanation about the world was given it was in the end. It just made the start of the story much more difficult than it had to be and it honestly made the story lose tempo and depth since so much important and intriguing aspects were skipped over.

I still really liked the story so the writing didn’t completely ruin it for me. I’m even considering reading the next book in the series. However, because of all the errors in the writing the highest I can give this is three stars.

description

Velicious was a good 4.5 star read.

On her 21st birthday Justice’s sister Mya talks her into going to a psychic . During the reading something bizarre happens. Normally the psychic can see ten years ahead but with Justice it was only one. Who in their right mind tells someone to embrace the unknown -whatever that means - and then turns around and says, I can’t tell you about the unknown?

She will meet a mysterious sexy man that she is tied to. When she meets Dante she is pulled right in by him, is he the one? And the night gets even more interesting from there. She starts to discover there are other entities in the world besides humans.

Dante ends up being Justice’s guardian angel in a sense, since he always seems to show up to save her. And we have her ex Calvin that shows up back in the picture as well. Can these two keep her safe from harm?

This story pulls you right in from the beginning. I really liked the secondary characters, especially Mya and the twins. I had some LOL moments. The ending was, wow, how can you stop right there? We do get a glimpse into the next book which was great. This is my first read from this author and she really kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. I’m looking forward to reading more from her.

I received this book from Voracious Readers for an honest review. Holy moly this BOOK!!! It started of kind of confusing - but that could have just been me as I was really tired when I started this book. But man once I sorted myself out I really enjoyed this book. It focuses on Justice and her life as she party's and hangs out with her friends. It really gets going on the night Justice goes out for her birthday. Her sister takes her to see a psychic that fortells she will meet a handsome stranger with eyes she could drown in and she will need to decide whether the unknowns are worth getting to know. Her frennemy and sorority house roommate gets attacked by what Justice assumes is a homeless person when they leave the club and goes missing. When her roommate reappears she is changed and not for the better. She starts to look like the homeless person that attacked her. This is just the tip of the iceberg in Justice's world. Justice soon learns that things in her world are not what they seem. She also reunites with the boyfriend that broke her heart and he seems hell bent on getting back with her. Justice starts to learn things about the world around her and herself when she goes on a triple date with her friends and a strange boy that randomly hits on her previously. She learns there is a reason she can't remember parts of her past and why there is a faceless stranger in her dreams and memories. The only problem I had with this book was the ending - it was a cliffhanger!! So I can't wait to read the next book. I need to find out who this faceless stranger is!

This book has all kinds of triggers way to many to name. But that being said it will rock your world!

It has twists coming from left field you just do not see. I mean who is the mystery vamp who made her a doll. What was K-17 ? Why was it after the boy.. and why was it always needing new bodies and just did not pick any and stayed in Erin instead of not picking anyone random from the compass?

This book does end in a cliff hanger, I am just sorry to say that while this book is packed full of stuff that will make you think twice about Vampires, and other things that go bump in the night. Just buy the rest of the set before buying this one. You will need the full story!!

This was a great read. I really like the main character, Justice and her group of friends. I'm glad that it isn't a clear cut paranormal romance. This book doesn't just have vampires and it doesn't appear that the main character is a simpering Virgin (thank goodness).
I enjoy the mystery with Erin's character and I'm interested in finding out how that will play out.
I really enjoyed this book and I will continue to read the rest of the series!

Justice had her life planned or so she thought. She had visited a psychic on her 21st birthday and was told interesting things would happen in a year. Two out of three have happened, is she doomed to die as the third thing. She thought she was crazy, but things start happening. A great read, not to be missed

Poor Justice has her life turned upside down thanks to the birthday gift she got from her sister. Plenty of action, suspense and surprises that kept me reading till the last page. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

(This book is also known as Vampyre Doll) Vampyre Doll is the first book I've read from this author and I am hooked. Full of intrigue, twists, danger, and forbidden sexual desires, Vampyre Doll takes you on a wild ride with Justice as her whole world turns inside out and upside down. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger so I definitely will be reading books 2 of the series.
