FLAG GIVEAWAY: Sunday, May 24
Beginning at 12 pm, 100 free 3' by 5' American flags and stamped Centennial themed postcards will be given out at Mission BBQ with each order on a first-come, first-served basis.
VIDEO MONTAGE: Monday, May 25
At 2:50 pm on the City's Facebook & YouTube pages, a video will play, accompanied by the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 pm.

The tower will light up red, white & blue. 
Salute Flight Flyover
Saturday, May 23
On Saturday, May 23, four U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon aircrafts will soar over Bethesda West (approximately 12:18 pm) and Bethesda East (approximately 12:25 pm). The flight is part of The National Salute to America’s Heroes to recognize healthcare workers, first responders, military, and other essential personnel. Residents should observe the flyover from the safety of their home-quarantine. View flight schedule.

On Friday, May 22, Palm Beach County began to accept applications for business relief grants. $25,000 will be awarded to 2,000 businesses in the county. Completed applications will be processed in the order received. Learn more about grants for businesses with:

Testing Updates

Genesis Community Health is offering free COVID-19 tests at St. John Missionary Baptist Church on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 9 am - 2 pm. Appointments are required: call or text 561-770-2370 or 561-767-5349. No symptoms required.

A new site at Florida Atlantic University is also offering free tests Tuesdays - Saturdays, 8:00 am - 11:50 am. Appointments are required: call 1-800-209-7919. No symptoms required.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management & Florida Division of Emergency Management is now testing homebound residents. Eligible residents include homebound elderly or individuals with disabilities who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Schoolhouse Children's Museum
Offers Online Yoga
The Schoolhouse Children's Museum has added yoga classes to their online offerings. Grab a mat and get comfortable at home - visit the Museum's Facebook page to participate on Wednesdays following the 10:30 am weekly science postings. In addition, the museum also offers live story times, craft ideas and activities.

New Program: Pandemic
Unemployment Assistance (PUA)
florida department of economic opportunity
PUA provides up to 39 weeks of unemployment benefits to individuals not eligible for regular unemployment compensation or extended benefits, including those who have exhausted all rights to such benefits. Individuals covered under PUA include the self-employed, those seeking part-time employment, individuals without sufficient work history and those who do not qualify for regular unemployment compensation or extended benefits. John H. Denson Pool Opens

John Denson Pool will re-open on Tuesday, May 26 for lap swim & open swim. Ten swimmers will be permitted at a time in three sessions:
• 9:00 am - 11:00 am
• 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
• 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

• In person reservations are required.

City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2020 in honor of Memorial Day. Residential and commercial waste will be picked up as regularly scheduled.

The next Feeding South Florida drive-thru food distribution will take place on Thursday, May 28 (8 am - 10 am) at the Boynton Beach Mall (enter on the south). First come, first served.
Tire Amnesty Week will be held during the week of June 1 through June 5.  During this week, residents may place at the curb up to eight (8) car and/or passenger tires (with or without rims) for free pick up.
