Dance with the Devil

Taken. Broken. Used. I was all of those things until I wasn’t. Thrust into a world I knew nothing about, I was forced to adapt. I didn’t expect to find my heart in such an evil place. Satan worshipers. That’s exactly what they were but the more I found out about Kellin, the more I wanted to see the real him. I shouldn’t have wanted a monster. I shouldn’t have craved his touch. I was about to dance with the devil and I was enjoying every sick second of it.

I am a wife, mother, child chauffeur and author. I love being able to create different characters and spin a web that makes them come together in the end. My books do not stick to just one genre, they span many.

I write about things that are real life situations and fairy tales are not always smooth sailing. My MC books are hard and gritty and they have struggles just like you would in life.

I also have books that are not so in your face. There are several that are good love stories that are fraught with issues that the characters have to deal with.

ღ I got so caught up in the story that I forgot I had to work the next day. So, I had to make myself slow down, but at the same time I need to finish that bad boy…. Yeah it was that good!

Holy smoke this is one Erin’s darkest read so far for me! You’ll realize right away that the title of this book is no joke. This is a A Dark, Intense, Thrilling Romance…. Happy Reading

I stole her from one hell and drug her into mine.

They might have lived in two different worlds, but yeah at the same time they truly don’t …….. this story will grab you from the beginning will not let you go until the very end

He lives in a castle in the woods (Les Fleurs du Mal which translates to The Flowers of Evil. ) between those bricks lives pure evil … He was born into this world. An angry, money hungry, power thriving world.

On one hand, He is the devil worshiper that everyone pegs him for, the man with horns who could steal your next breath before you knew he took it. On the other hand, he not sure who he is. All he knows is that, he will be training her to be a slave to be sold to other covens. They produce the darkest of the dark and she’ll be next

Kellin had seen the light in her & now he know that he must find his way out of the darkness for her
……. The only question is will she survive this hell that he brought her into

This is a really hard book to read at times , but well worth it.

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.

I read over 200 books every year, so I had come to accept that I wouldn’t ever read a dark book with a premise I hadn’t already read... but then I found this book! Yes, there are lots of cult and religious fanatic stories out there, but this was my first about Satanic worshipers, and it was so much fun to read!!!

Kellin was born and raised to follow in his father‘s (the King‘s) footsteps. Rose, one of the slaves captured for the coven, isn’t just some poor, unsuspecting innocent victim either – she’d also been born and raised in a similar situation. Not only are these characters and their stories incredibly fascinating but the unpredictability and sexual passion was off the charts! I especially loved that we got to see their lives in various stages: while living in the cult and how they tried to adjust to life outside of it.

Aside from missing many punctuation rules (which only a super anal proofreader like me would notice), this book is impeccably written! I didn’t really buy into the insta-love (I felt that the female captive fell for her abductor a little too quickly), and there were a few gaps in the storyline (for example, they are supposedly watched by cameras at all times yet have several days where the main characters are alone together without consequence). I also wished there was more detail at times, especially during the darker scenes. Overall, though, this was an awesome book that I didn’t want to put down! It was definitely my favorite book by Trejo so far!

Holy Crap. I wasn't ready for that. We knew he had past. Well we thought we did. Now we find out the truth. All that he has held close to the vest. The secrets that haunt him. . . all that came before. She changed everything. She was so much more than he ever suspected. At first she was a job. Nothing more but that changed. She too had a past, it's what made her who she is, gave her what she needed to survive. . . maybe. Two broken by their past and crushed in their present. Enduring more than most will in a lifetime that they would never be able to shake. It's a story of brutality, cruelty, abuse and torment. She would give him the strength and love to overcome it all, he would do the same for her. After all, she's the only one that was able to dance with the devil and live to tell the story.

Dance With The Devil takes you for quite the ride. Kellin was literally born into a satanic cult and his role as the cult leaders son is to find new slaves. Rose was part of a different cult...one that worships God or so they stated. Having escaped from her own living hell, Rose is going to college and trying to live a normal life but she’s simply just existing. Kellin sees Rose and knows she’s to be part of the next group of slaves brought in. What he doesn’t know is her past or how undeniable strong she is. The pull Kellin feels towards Rose is something he’s never felt and it scares him. Both will be put through horrific situations and at some points it was a little difficult to read. But it was so worth it, their story of tragedy and recovery was something l have never experienced before. Erin Trejo does it again!

I swear Erin blows me away with every book she writes!
Can you play with the devil and win? Kellin was born into the life, followed the rules for years. Rose was born into another life, marked for death only to survive and then thrust into another. Torn between following what needs to be done and moving onto something new, strange and awakening. Can they survive it all and come out stronger?
This book, wow. I didn't know what I was getting into, the rituals, the darkness, coming to light. An amazing read!

****** SPOILERS ******

I've read quite a few books by Erin Trejo. Her subject matter is always uncomfortable and before I start one of her books, I know I will experience some intolerable visceral reaction.

Dance with the Devil is no different. Just from reading the summary of the book, I knew this would be a disgusting ride into the world of Satanism. But let me preface this by saying that I know a little about Satanism and their beliefs. I am not intolerant of their belief system as long as it doesn't include some of the things included in this book. This by no means is a book strictly with Satanism as the background. True to Erin's style, there is sado-masochism, pedophilia, AND Satanism as a backdrop.

But mostly this is a study of two people from similar backgrounds in a horrible situation. Rose is the female protagonist. We find out much later in the book that Rose was raised in a Christian cult where she was impregnated at the age of 12 by the church leader. She was also raped by the other members regularly. Her sole purpose was to produce children for the church Elder. Her children were taken from her immediately after delivery. When finally she refused to be raped and impregnated any more, she was marked for death and tattooed with the date of her future death. Shunned by her church community, yet trusted that she would not run away, she managed to escape. Two years later we meet her while she is attending college.

Kellin is the male protagonist. He was born and raised in the Satanistic cult for which his father serves as King. Kellin was initiated at the age of three years old. It is implied that Kellin was molested by his father and cult elders until he reached his teens when he was forced to sacrifice his own mother. Kellin was naturally being groomed to assume the Kingship, but deep down he had no desire to assume that role. When we meet Kellin he and his cult brother Rory are plotting to overthrow the King, but it is a slow process. In the meantime, Kellin's job is to recruit and kidnap new females for the cult.

Kellin notices Rose from afar on the college campus. He assesses her personal traits and marks her for the cult. A few nights later, at a party being thrown next to the cult's compound, Kellin approaches Rose and seduces her, and unbeknownst to her, drugs her so that Kellin can kidnap her.

Kellin initially looks at Rose as chattel, much like she was treated before. He toys with her, but he is drawn to her. The story evolves as Kellin's father notices Rose and learns that Kellin has an interest in her.

I don't know how Erin achieves the reality that she does without experiencing it, but she does. This book is technically an improvement on her previous writing efforts. Although, I feel it could have been fleshed out even more, Erin was able to capture the setting pretty well, I felt like I was in that horrid place as I was reading.

I highly recommend this book. Satanists might be offended, but the background was about more than Satanism.

What an amazing cover!! Wanted to read this book if only for the cover!!
The story, although about Satan worshipers.... was somewhat disappointing. Kellin being born in this cult, and somehow staying in it 'against his will' but still doing all the horribe things he did, for years and years... was a little hard to believe.
And what are the chances that, when you finally escape religious madness, you get abducted by satan worshippers???
Nevertheless, nice read!

Wow! Erin Trejo blew me away with Dance with the Devil! Wonderfully dark and had me with eyes wide open with the cult theme!

Kellin and Rose come from two totally different backgrounds, but the chemistry they have is undeniable. Kellin is definitely a satanic villain turned Hero and was so easy to hate then love. Rose, having lived in a cult like life prior, is seemingly innocent, but instead is an extremely brave and strong heroine that endures unthinkable things!

I recommend reading this book blind, as to not ruin anything. This book does contain triggers that some may be uncomfortable with as many dark themed books do. If dark is your jive, then I definitely recommend!!

Erin is an amazing writer and I always end up loving the stories she writes. When I recieved this book, I honestly didn't know what to expect. Dance With The Devil is an extremely dark book. The character are amazing. Erin takes Rose and Kellin and brings them to life, like only she can. You may think Rose is pure, but like Kellin she has a dark past. They just fit so well together!

Deliciously Depraved!
Erin Trejo is making a name for herself in the dark romance category. This book had so many WTF moments that I could not put it down. Make no mistake this is not your typical romance. It’s dark and gritty and shocking, and I loved every demented word of it.
This is also a book about self discovery and hope, and yes love. Another best seller from the queen of dark romance.

It's taken me a wee while to write a review for this book.
I had to actually take a breath and think about it.
I'm a huge fangirl for Erin, having read nearly every book of hers my kindle could lay it's hands on...im that chick! I "know" how her books are gonna roll.
But you know...this book manages to surprise the hell out of me.
A few times during the reading I had to stop and go back, read a passage, than resume from my reading...all because I was asking myself...this is Erin Trejo, right?
I just felt that I knew the Trejo writing style, but this book...
Not only was the beef of the book freaking me the fuck out...Satanists, rituals, submission, inclusion AND exclusion...but this book was so unexpected and I now have even MORE respect for Erin as an author!
Lady, you flipped the script on this reader...and I freaking LOVED IT.
I've read similar genre and I tell you what, you freaking had me guessing where you were leading me! There was nothing cliche at all about the storyline. Which was a bit of a mindfuck, in itself!
BTW...I HATED Don. And I seriously hope you give Ebony a book!

Once again... you have given me a great read and know that you slayed me with Kellin and Rose! Gawd... I so seriously want to know about that religious cult as well- that's how much I got into this book!

My fave line;
"This is her truth. This is her reality. I stole her from one hell and drug her into mine"
Kellin.

"If we live in the pits of hell, then we are the flame"
Kellin

Damn Erin
You wreck me.

Okay wow! I'm genuinely speechless with this one, this book is not one of those books where the hero met his one and he decided to claim her for himself type of book, this is a book where you get put into situations beyond your control, you've adept to the situation to survive, you become what they wanted you to be, life as you know is gone. You're no longer the person you were before, all the characters in this story is flawed and damaged, when you dance with the devil it's what you'll become. This book is the most depraved and darkest story I've ever read by author Erin Trejo, book is beyond dark and if you think you can handle it than I bid you good luck. Cause let's be honest here, yes it's dark but oh so delicious, it's like the story called to your soul, your mind, your body, it feels like you can't get enough of it, you just want more and more as you keep reading, your heart keep beating faster and faster, you're breathing hard, it feels like I've been running a never-ending marathon. Author Erin M Trejo I don't know what else to say but you've surpassed everything I ever thought about dark reads, my hat's off to you, so I will do my duty and dubbed you "The Queen Of Dark Reads"

Erin Trejo writes books that always makes you think and Dance With the Devil is no exception. Kellin was born and raised in a satanic cult. His father is the leader, he forced Kellin to kill his mother, and now his job is to find women to train as slaves for the cult and when he's not successful in training them, they are human sacrifices to Satan. Rose seems to be the perfect target, college student, no family or strong ties, and she beautiful. What Kellin doesn't know is Rose was raised and escaped a religious cult that practiced polygamy, incest, child brides, and took babies away from their mothers at birth to be indoctrinated into the cult. You felt both cults were equally evil, but was one worse because it praised Satan or was the other because it praised God? The book was well paced, the characters compelling, great twists and turns, moments of shocking brutality and cruelty, this book runs the gambit. Another 5 Star read!!

OH MY GOODNESS - What a dark intense satanic journey Ms. Trejo took me on with Dance With the Devil. It was like watching a scary movie - I wanted to yell Don't Go There - but of course they do and it’s too late to back out.

This is a well written book that had me on a razor's edge throughout, praying for the young who were trapped in a dark satanic lifestyle. Kellin was born into this way of life and Rose was captured and brought into the fold. Both are troubled by their past and current situations. Both need each other in inexplicable ways, trapped by their surroundings and their darkest desires.

This is an emotional journey that is told in Ms. Trejo’s unique style. While not normally a subject matter I enjoy, I found myself drawn to the storyline and rooting for any type of HEA. I highly recommend grabbing up Dance with the Devil. Just be prepared for a dark twisted ride. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.

This book takes you deep into the world of the occult. You’ll see a side of Satanism that you don’t expect. At first, I was hesitant, thinking I am not going to get into this book; I was basing that on my own beliefs. I could not have been more wrong!
The book does not get into the fundamentals or the deep beliefs, so you’re not going to be scared for your soul. It does show you the human side, the side where you follow what you’re born into, what you’re parents have made you to believe is the right and only way.
Kellin and Rose are from two completely different worlds, but in actuality they are both the same. You will feel the fear, the pain, the heat, and the love in this story.
It’s gripping from the beginning and does not let you go until long after you’ve finished.
An absolute MUST READ!!!

A great dark and gritty read from Ms. Trejo. This book takes you to a place that a lot of people do not want to acknowledge exists.
This about two people, who are polar opposites from each other but stil drawn together.
He’s the head mans son, and expected to take over the property and people, when he decides to either step down or dies. She’s a loner and a survivor of another cult on the other end of the spectrum. She has something that is drawing him in and messing with his head. He is the darkness and she is the light that lights up his soul.
Together they survive torture and abuse from the elders. They get out with the help of a friend. They come out the other side stronger together then apart. They are broken, but are piecing themselves back together.
They share=re a strong bond that heals them and their love blooms from there.

WOW WOW WOW

Erin Trejo has such a way with words. This story is dark, deep and not a sweet romance by any means but the bottom line is there is love and people do deserve to be loved no matter how evil you think you are.

Kellin is part of a satanic cult.. His father is Satan himself.. Kellin is the one who brings in the initiatives. When he meets Rose he knows he has to bring her in but really not for the cult, for himself. But he also knows he is not a good person and the evil in him and what she will endure is not something she will want. Rose is drawn to Kellin but the evil in this place is really too much and she knows the only way out is death. But if she dies she looses the one person she truly loves.

Can they endure the horrific things they go through and witness and get out and truly find love with each other?

Erin at her best

This is a dark twisted tale of cults, and the fight to be free in the end. Trigger warnings.

Kellin is the son of the Satan cult leader. He is one of the men that goes out to recruit new woman and train them to be slaves. All don't step into place and are able to be trained in which case they become sacrifices. Kellin and Rory make sure they are trained or broken.

Rose is taken but know all to sell what it's like to be in a cult per say. Regardless if it's a cult in the name of the Devil or God to her they are both bad. Messed up in different ways.

Rose is tortured, not just Rose but others also. Goodness! Kellin wants to end everything with the help of Rory and other. Unfortunately sacrifices are made for freedom but are they ever truly free of something they were raised in?

I don’t know about anyone else, but the instant someone starts mentioning “cult” fiction, I cringe. I mean, it is such a touchy subject, and so many things can go down the proverbial drain. Dance With The Devil doesn’t, though. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, so to speak, but it does have a weirdly wonderful way of telling this story of life and death and the cult in between.

We are all dealt cards of fate when we are born into this life. What we do with them is what matters, even if you don’t exactly get to choose the choices they bring. You can love, hate, hide, escape, heal, or die by making a simple choice. Erin Trejo blew this one out of the water.

This was an unusual one from this author. The books I normally read from her are mostly dark and twisted MC books. But this was a different take on this dark and twisted world. It takes one to know one, when it comes to kellin and rose. Both nurtured into this life forced to follow a God that has been manipulated by their believers. Groomed to obey regardless of their internal feelings. I loved kellin's draw to rose. Wanting to watch her whither to a weed, but even being overshadowed in his darkness. Her light shone better, making him rise from his groom. Great different read.

“I think I’ve just begun a dance with the devil himself.”

Dance with the Devil has a depth of darkness that will drag you through the pits of hell. Evil lurks around every corner or rather every page you turn. Filled with sinister and satanic rituals that will leave your heart pumping right out of your chest. It’s dark, thrilling and packed with the most devious torture.

“We are the spawns of the Devil. We are the darkness and soon you will be too.”

Erin Trejo after reading this book I too was pulled into the darkness.

This is a different genre for Erin, it’s a thought provoking read.... if you’ve been raised to believe a certain way of life and done some questionable things in the name of that life, how do you then justify those things in your own head when you start to question your faith especially when your heart is leading you to another person , a person you’ve wronged. Kellin and Rose are both products of cults but one dedicated to god the other to the devil, both of them brainwashing their followers

This book right here is not what I expected! I thought this was a twisted paranormal book and boy was I wrong! This book is about a satans cult and kids raised it in. Kellen is Satan son and he goes into the world to bring new slaves, Rose happens to be one of the new slaves, this book is CRAZY! It had me glued, I could not put it down, it almost reminds me of the Hulu show handsmade tale.

This book is dark, gritty, intense and fast-paced. Kellin and Rose put the definition in opposites attract. Kellin is in a cult that worships and is devoted to the devil whilst rose it’s just the opposite, she is devoted and worships God. The crazy s**t they live through and to come out relatively whole is amazing. Even though they are opposites they just seem to fit together. Will these two damaged souls make each other‘s existence a little brighter?

This is one of those books that stay with you long after the last page has been read and the book closed. The depth of feeling this author wrings out of you is an experience like no other.
The author takes you to a place where there is no light, only darkness and those what worship at the feet of the devil. Where pain, torture and depravity are all some know - until Rose. No one will ever be the same again.

A Twisted Dark Read

Kellin and Rose come from two different cult worlds where they brainwash by their people. This is a dark and crazy book that brought two totally different people together. The draw they had was unmistakable. This isn’t my norm for a book but with Ms. Trejo as the author I’m game for anything!

The author has done an amazing job of bringing the reader into the world of evil and darkness, where pain and suffering is worshipped. But even in such a place love can bloom and shine destroy the shield of darkness and evil. An amazing page turning read.
