“I have my own suspicions about you, Sophie.”

Sophie Nelson knows her kinky interests are no more than fantasy, definitely not something that’ll ever happen in the real world. So the sexual playground Black Light is the best place to turn. A safe place to play. Until Scott.

Detective Scott Russo knows better than to get sexually involved with his partner. Mixing business with pleasure never ends well, but sometimes rules are meant to be broken. He can’t avoid the temptation of giving Sophie exactly what she needs, even if that means a firm hand.

While Sophie and Scott find themselves mired in a high-stakes investigation, their off-duty kinky explorations intensify. With danger at the door, and complications that threaten to tear them apart, can they survive the tug of war.

In Suspicion, police partners Sophie Nelson and Scott Russo become more than partners and friends when they run into each other at BDSM club Black Light and realize they have compatible sexual interests. However, Sophie is new to the BDSM scene, and the rough end to her last relationship with a fellow officer has left her wary of a relationship with another co-worker. Scott is hesitant to push her too far, but then almost loses her when he overreacts to something she's done.

The worst part of this novel is that it relies on the idea that a stupid, overblown misunderstanding breaks up an otherwise fairly solid couple. While this is a common romance novel trope, it's one of my least favorite. At least Scott's friends call him out on his idiocy. Otherwise, the characters are great, and Stone does an excellent job seamlessly integrating the murder investigation and the relationship plot lines. I definitely want to read more of her books, especially in this series.

Oh, I love Measha Stone and I love the Black Light books, so putting them together in one place is just perfectly awesome. And Measha's book fits in perfectly with the rest of the Black Light books.

Sophie and Scott are cops and partners. But when they run into each other at the Black Light Valentine's Roulette event, Sophie starts to freak out, since that means her personal life and work life are crossing over in not good ways. You see, this was her first time at the club, even if she had been a member for a while, and she's a total BDSM virgin, and seeing her partner there, who was obviously there for the same event, was a total freakout in the making.

I love how well Sophia and Scott work together. He doesn't get in front of her at work and lets her do what she does when it comes to being a police officer, even though they are building a D/s relationship together. However, he does make some stupid mistakes, which I love Measha Stone for adding that in. All too often, the Domly types get a pass, which isn't fair to anyone, the Domly types or the subby types, so seeing that is great. I really loved this book. It really got to me and I identified with Sophie so much. Measha Stone is such a great author and this was a perfect story.

Even though I have read most of the books in the Black Light series, I'm always amazed at how well all of the involved authors are able to neatly weave their individual books together. In this instance, the woman that fainted and therefore was not even included with a story in Roulette Redux is now the heroine of this book. Sophia is new to the BDSM scene and actually fainted at the Valentine's event before she ever got to participate. And if that isn't embarrassing enough for Sophia, it's actually her fellow detective that is the first person she sees when she comes to. While Scott is very interested in introducing Sophia to the scene, she is very afraid of getting involved with someone from work. Can these two keep their personal and private lives separate? And is there a chance for more?
This latest by Measha Stone was a great entry in the Black Light series but it can also be read as a stand alone novel. Although I would recommend all the books in the Black Light series. This story had plenty of steamy scenes but there is also a mystery for the two detectives to solve so there is an added story line.

Sophia and Scott may be partners on the police force they work for but that doesn't stop them from thinking about each other in "other" ways. Scott is a Dom and Sophia is wanting to learn so when they accidently meet up at Black Light, Scott gets all kinds of ideas. Sophia is convinced that they can't stay together as a couple and still work together so she lies to herself and to Scott by saying this is just for fun! When a case they are working on takes on twists and turns, it's Scott who provides the stress relief that Sophia needs. Can they stay together or will things they have hidden from each other be their undoing? Both need to come clean but will they?

This story kept me reading late into the night as I couldn't wait to find out what happens. At times, I wanted to shake both of them. LOL!! Suspicion is a wonderful addition to the Black Light family and Measha Stone wrote it perfectly!!!

DNF @ 80%

I have loved the entire Black Light series, so it’s surprising to me that I didn’t care for this one too much. In the very first chapter, you are thrown into the Valentine Roulette with Sophie and Scott. Jumping right into the action isn’t a problem if done well, however, there was no build up, suspense, or character development before the main characters started getting intimate with each other. In addition, they dived straight into intercourse so, as the reader, the excitement and suspense was kind of ruined. I don’t usually mind this in books, but I don’t believe it was written well in this one.

A major factor to why I didn’t like this book is that the majority of the plot focused on them working together as partners at the police department and solving a murder case together. If you like reading mysteries, you will probably love this but I was reading it purely for BDSM so I didn’t care for it. It severely detracted from the romance between the characters, in my opinion.

Regarding the BDSM, it wasn’t the most thrilling I’ve ever read but it wasn’t bad. It doesn’t compare to the other books whatsoever, though. If you like spankings and light punishment scenes, you will like this. However, if you prefer more of the dark, erotic, painful BDSM scenes, like me, don’t bother reading this book. Overall, I stopped reading at 80% because I got bored and the story was mainly focusing on the murder mystery and I didn’t care about it.

All over the place

I liked the premise of this book but the main characters were all over the place. He's supposed to be an experienced Dom, but he scenes with her when he's angry, he doesn't really negotiate with her, he violates the boundaries of their relationship repeatedly. She's presented as a strong, independent woman, unsure about entering the kink world, but she's nervous about every little aspect of their relationship and has wide emotional swings and insecurities. Not a satisfying read.

I love books where the workplace becomes a part of the drama and intimacy of the characters. We’ve all heard the terms ‘work husband / work wife’, and I am a big believer that the stresses that are placed upon us in the workplace can also lead to varying degrees of intimacy, even if they never become sexual in any shape or form. The plot of Black Light: Suspicion revolves around two people who work together closely in a high-stress environment. The fact that they also share a mutual attraction and allow their intimacy to evolve from simply being comfortable in each other’s company in the workplace, but also into the bedroom, just made it even more delicious to me. I have little doubt that part of the reason I loved this book so much is that the story has similarities to one I recently worked on, and so some of the scenes just resonated with me. However, I know it went beyond just that. I loved reading about the struggle that each of the characters went through to try and come to terms with their attraction, and yet concerned that it might have an effect on their actual work, both in and out of the workplace. That juxtaposition and tension really made the story flow for me, and kept me very invested in how both characters were going to come to terms with their growing relationship.

If there was one complaint I had it was an incident near the end of the book. No spoilers, but how this incident was handled between the two characters, and then how quickly it was resolved, was a little jarring. It seemed too quickly and easily handled. I wanted to know more about how each of them felt about what was taking place, and then a deeper dive into their thoughts and feelings upon coming to the resolution. There had been a lot of earlier introspection and discussion between the two main characters prior to this scene, and yet for this one—and a rather large plot point it is—it just seemed to happen too quickly and neatly resolved. It seemed a missed opportunity to really dive deep into each of the characters that was unfortunately missed.

This is a wonderful character driven book that if you love the dynamic of ‘work buddies’ turning to lovers you will certainly enjoy. I know that concept / plot-line is a favorite of mine, and Black Light: Suspicion definitely delivered!

As a huge fan of the Black Light series, there was no question about whether I would be reading this book or not. I have come to expect a well written, captivating and very kinky book when I read this author and I wasn't disappointed. Whilst this story didn't have the darkness or extreme play that many of her books contain, it was still a very steamy and wonderful story. In my humble opinion it fits perfectly into the Black Light world, so if you are a fan of any of those books you should love this. The book is written in the third person and, whilst set in the Black Light world, it can be read as a stand alone.

Scott and Sophia are partners at work, in their capacity as police officers. Sophia is interested in a BDSM relationship, but attempts with previous boyfriends have always left her unsatisfied. Scott could give her everything she wants but she has learnt that hard way that relationships with work colleagues don't often end well. Can Scott and Sophia be Dom and sub without it affecting their working partnership?

Both Sophia and Scott were very likeable and plausible characters. Their actions and reactions felt natural and believable, neither was perfect and both made mistakes. I loved Sophia's struggle with her submission, her commitment to Scott and her worries about the long term, this really endeared her to me. I also found it very refreshing that Scott didn't overpower Sophia at work and allowed her to be her own person there, rather than trying to control her.

I totally believed in this pair as a couple, could have banged their heads together at their occasional lack of communication (though this was needed to control the direction of the plot!) and definitely felt the chemistry between them. I would have loved the angst and agony to have been more drawn out. Personally I would have loved to see more evidence of their struggles and suffering , but that's me - I love a book that breaks my heart and makes me ugly cry! It didn't make this any less of a very good read though.

Just as a warning - this book contains power exchange scenes, including spankings and more. If that isn't your thing then don't read this. And yes, as Scott told Sophia when she complained about something not being fair - "It shouldn't. It's not. It's the balance of power we play with. Fair doesn't play into it."

The latest entry in the Black Light series does not disappoint. Measha Stone picks up with a tiny shred of information of Roulette Redux, and makes it the beginning of this wonderful novel. Sophia and Scott homicide detectives and partners. When they get together at Black Light, Sophia is clear she wants to keep things casual. Scott agrees to this, even though he wants a more serious D/s relationship. As they grow to know each other better, she begins to fall seriously for him, although she's afraid to tell him so. In the meantime, they are investigating a murder.

One of the interesting things to me about this is that previously, whenever a relationship between law enforcement types who are into BDSM get involved, the case involves BDSM. Here, it was an ordinary murder (although rather complicated). In other words, day to day work life for the two of them, which makes the story much more realistic. The one aspect of that realism that I thought was off, or rather that Sophia should have called him on more strongly, was the way he jumped in when she was confronted by a particularly obnoxious former boyfriend. To me, that would be a deal breaker. If she wants to continue in a professional capacity, he can't come to her rescue like that. He has to let her stand on her own two feet. This would be the reason that most police departments won't let romantic partners be work partners. But they solve that problem, eventually. I won't spoil the how, as it's also a major conflict for their relationship.

I also have one particular comment that is not really relevant to the review, but I want to mention it anyway. Something that has bothered me since I started reading erotic romance is how all these women, even the well endowed ones, somehow manage to have "perky" breasts when they're lying down. Gravity does not allow that. At least not for someone who is well endowed. Breasts go flat and spread out like pancakes when you lay flat on your back. Measha Stone is the first writer I've read who has gotten that detail right and for that I (and probably many other C and D cup wearers) salute her.

A decent story that wasn't my taste

A new-to-me author, I hadn't read any of the previous Black Light books. While this mostly worked well as a standalone, there were times where it felt like the author assumed you had the full background. For instance, names are mentioned as people Scott served in the military with, but no further explanation until quite a bit further into the book. My feeling is that I would have liked this more if I'd read it as part of the series--more on this later.

I liked the set-up here, with Sophie as a BDSM newbie partnered both in and out of the club with the more experienced Scott. That they were both police detectives added a nice spin; I enjoyed the beginning of their personal relationship, as well as the plot line around the mysterious death they were trying to solve. I did feel there was something missing, though, a little more background on the main characters, additional and/or stronger secondary characters, something (I did really like the brief appearance of Dani). Which brings me back to wondering if reading the previous books would have helped to fill in those blanks for me.

I should probably point out that I'm not in the lifestyle (though I've read a fair number of books at this point), so when I say I just didn't like Scott the Dom that much, you can take it for what it's worth. He came across as overbearing and heavy-handed to me, and yes, I know some of that is alpha/Dom-ness, and yes, he did apologize for some of it, but it was too much in the context of this story for my personal taste. It made the story drag for me at times, though he did manage to win me back over in the end.
.
Ultimately, this was a decent story that just wasn't my taste, especially without the background of the previous books to add context. 3.5 stars

This book captured and kept my attention from the start.
Sophie and Scott are both detectives and partners.
Their job relationship is great.
Both of them are smart, eager and they have a system in place when dealing with suspects that works very well for them. They are in synch and mutually respect each other.
Scott eyes Sophia at work and finds her utterly beautiful.
She’s unaware of his attraction to her and has had a prior bad experience and not looking to relive that again.
But all bets are off when Scott and Sophia come face to face at Black Light!
Very good book that intertwines two stories.
The difficult case of a murdered woman and their new complex personal relationship.
I loved Scott!
I really appreciated how he knew Sophia’s needs and he didn’t back down even knowing she’s new to his world.
He helped her and guided her in the new exciting world she wants to become a part of.
He didn’t waiver nor give her a pass and that paved a path of certainty for Sophia.
Scott did it was patience and strength because he was certain of himself as a Dom and as her partner.
Sophie has always been interested and wanted the more unconventional type of love and relationship.
But her previous partners never delivered what she truly needed.
All that comes to an end the evening she sees Scott at the Black Light.
He’s following through on her needs helps her to always know what to expect from him and of him.
So now does she not only trust him at work she trusts him full heartily in their personal relationship.
She gives herself bodily to him fully because of that trust he earned.
But mentally she holds back.
Can Scott win that part of her?
There is so much at stake for both of them!

Black Light: Suspicion is a new book within the Black Light world and not only does it have the BDSM romance, but also a murder mystery, too! Sophie has always felt like something is missing in her relationships, so when she takes a chance to indulge in her fantasies, she takes it at Black Light. Scott has felt a draw to Sophie since she became his partner, not thinking anything could come from it, but now everything has changed. As their case heats up, so does their relationship, but Scott wants everything while Sophie is still holding back. Just as Sophie opens up to the possibility of more, her secrets all come out. Will Scott push her away due to a lack of trust, or will they be partners in more than just their day job?

I was completely drawn into this book, with the murder mystery in the background keeping my attention while Sophie and Scott’s relationship continued to develop and stealing pieces of my heart. I loved how new Sophie was to the scene, and while she kept making minor mistakes, Scott was able to reign her in and help her. Their scenes were intense at times, but I loved Scott’s methods of finding out information from Sophie. One thing that I really enjoyed was that Sophie was the one trying to keep the relationship casual, that she had her own hang ups and trust issues. Scott has his own issues, too, and wasn’t always perfect. They had a great partnership, at work and beyond, and I really enjoyed their romance. Plus, solving the murder is convoluted and just as intense as their romance. This book can completely stand alone within the Black Light universe, and I definitely enjoyed reading this book!

Sophie Nelson is a green newbie to the BDSM scene, so it explains why her nerves (and lack of food) cause her to faint before the Valentine Roulette at Black Light. Luckily (or perhaps, unluckily) for her, her partner, Scott Russo was there when she fainted, and is there to feed her then take her home that night.

Knowing his new, sinfully curvy partner is in the scene is the last thing he was expecting from Sophie. But now that he knows, his hot wayward thoughts about her can't seem to be stopped. When they get together and Scott agrees to teach her a few things, they want to keep it casual. But, Scott soon finds he doesn't want casual, he wants all of Sophie. But, Sophie has other ideas, ideas that just may take her far out of Scott's reach. Will these two ever get their hearts aligned or are they doomed to want different things?

Although I haven't read any of the other stories in this series, I was easily able to get into and understand Suspicion. And I loved it. It's emotional and intense and passionate. These two ride the line of angsty without being ott about it. I felt for them toward the end when the inevitable misunderstanding popped up. Thank God it was resolved in a sweet, although a bit anticlimactic, way. I do wish there had been an epilogue, though, because the ending wasn't exactly all that forthcoming on the status of their relationship in the future. But perhaps there will be more of this series and Sophie and Scott will make an appearance. Let's hope so!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I found myself on an emotional journey along with the characters of this book.
It was addictive in so many ways,it had heart, heat and realism.I latched onto it
with both hands and enjoyed the progression of the characters personality traits,
as they both fought against their pasts which added such complexity to their
budding relationship.Detective Sophie Nelson has a rule, never mix business
with pleasure after a relationship with her ex partner ended badly.Sophie has
moved to a new precinct and with a burning desire to explore her fantasy, she attends
the roulette night at Black Light BDSM Club.Never in her wildest dreams did she
expect to run into her new partner,Scott Russo.Scott is a Dom to his core and
wants Sophie as his sub and give her the experiences she craves.Sophie is happy
to give up control to Scott but only on her terms.Scott wants more, much more
than just a casual relationship, his feelings for Sophie run deep. This story will
see Sophie and Scott investigating a puzzling murder together,Sophie's struggle
giving control to Scott, steamy sex scenes and spankings. The writing was strong
and moved quickly.I liked how the author made Scott so hot but also we saw
his vulnerable side as well. The author not only knows her erotica but is well
versed in the BDSM lifestyle as well.A story full of heartfelt emotions making
it a must read.

Hmmm. So.
It's seems as though it's been forever since one of the fifteen submissives waiting for the Valentine's Day Roulette at Black Light fainted, leaving us with questions on who, what, why and will we ever find out her story...well, the answer is yes, and it's one hell of a book!
Sophie and Scott give us the perfect conclusion to the Valentine's Day Roulette mystery, and Measha Stone has gone beyond expectations in this full-length novel, leaving no stone unturned and offering up a fast-paced story, hot and passionate sex between two characters who have chemistry coming out of their ears, as well as that inevitable twist and break toward the end where your heart flops out of your chest wondering if THIS is the book where the two people you've fallen in love with over the course of the two hours it's taken you to scour every page don't actually get their HEA...
I ADORE the Black Light series, I make no secret of the fact, and I have to applaud the series' creators for continually finding authors who not only carry on the seductive creativeness of the series' origins but who are, book by book - be it full-length or through the Valentine's Roulette stories - developing a BDSM empire that will never become boring or stale and can only strengthen as the series blossoms.
Looking forward to what new delights both Black Light and Measha Stone come up with next!

Suspense, intrigue, and drama played out in the background while Scott and Sophia struggled to define their relationship. They're attracted to each other but neither one even thinks about making the first move because they're partners at work. Finding out there's an interest in kink on both sides was definitely a welcome surprise. That's when the story takes off. He's been playing for awhile. She's new to the scene. The struggles they face at work are complicated by their interest in each other once work is done for the day. I liked the story. There was a good blend of a complete story within another story of them discovering what it is that they want. It was very well written and kept my interest throughout.

There were a few things that seemed off to me though. He was decisive during the whole book until circumstances changed. Was it because he had a vested interest in the outcome? Maybe he liked control more than was let on as part of his character development and that's why he acted as he did? It didn't ring true to me. In my opinion, a true dominant would have gotten cold as he controlled his emotions regardless of what he was feeling. He would have been disciplined in his own reaction. But other than that, it was a great read.

Measha Stone is a new to me author, and after experiencing this amazing story, she's on my radar for good now. Scott and Sophie are cops, and partners at that. However things get complicated when they run into each other at the Black Light Valentine's Roulette Event, as she really freaks out since the personal and professional line is now blurry. It doesn't help that it's her first time at anything that has to do with BDSM, but not his, so yeah, the freaking out is big time. But it also sends them on a new, and sexy journey as well, that screams complicated. Yeah, this story really got my attention cover to cover, even with the BDSM backdrop, as sometimes situations like that will have me 50 shades of pissed off in certain senses. Not in this sense though, as somehow Scott and Sophie were just sexy, and had me all kinds of curious with my alpha self while they were working on their own D/s relationship. I'm not saying that at times that I didn't want to shake the crap out of them, because I did, but I also cheered them on. Measha Stone has a talented, easy, and addictive writing style that kept my interest 100% invested until I devoured every last word, and steamy steam. Anyway, I'll be reading more of her in the future, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is the story of Sophia and Scott. They work for the police department in D.C. and have been partnered for a little while. Scott is a Dom and without a sub right now, and keeps looking at Sophia and wondering from comments she has made...then he runs into her at the Valentine Roulette at the Black Light Club, where she was so nervous she fainted. She wanted to try a little "more" since vanilla sex just wasn't doing anything for her, so she joined Black Light but never went before...as she is a newbie, thought an encounter with a stranger may show her what she was missing....but then Scott decided he would show her what she was missing. Supposed to be casual, but he kept nudging for more. In the meantime they caught a murder case, that initially looked like it was a suicide, but something going on that was slowly coming to forefront...so could they solve the case and have a relationship or were there more hang-ups and pot-holes to get through. You will have to read this very interesting murder mystery with a BDSM twist to find out....I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

Sophia, His Collar

What a fantastic addition to the Black Light series. Ms Stone certainly knows how to write BDSM suspenseful romance reads with a gripping, storyline and perfect characters. This is one book that I highly recommend for readers who love this genre. The intrigue of the murder in this great read certainly keeps you reading page after page, with lots of twists and turns to it.
Detective Scott Russo and his new partner Sophia Nelson worked in the homicide division. Sophie has so many insecurities around her kinks and BDSM. She joined Black Light a month prior but still hasn’t played their yet. She meets Scott whilst she’s there and can’t go through with the valentine roulette night? Will Sophie be stuck in the vanilla world forever? Or will Scott as an experienced Dom be able to coax her through the BDSM life? Will Sophie’s doubts around being partner and wanting to run again be her downfall? Can she trust Scott to take control? Will she transfer again to another department, or will she accept Scott’s control?
A fantastic read from start to finish.
I am volunteering to leave an honest review for a copy of this book.

Suspicion (Black Light)

Leading Lady: Sophia is a strong female police officer whose good at her job & knows exactly what she wants from life. She was relatable in all her imperfections. An overarching theme of Sophia’s was trust. I wish there was more on her past & what made her into the woman she is.

Main Man: Scott was everything you want in your lead man: respectful, honest, attractive, confident, and loving. I think there was an opportunity to develop his character with insight into his past.

Romance: Loving—in both sense of the word— a larger lady because of her imperfections? Yes please! I enjoyed the lack of explaining WHY he found her attractive. It wasn’t she was big, but had the most beautiful face. Or he never realized how amazing she was until she did something charming & he was like: Hot damn! I didn’t know you were a sexy woman, but I guess you are! Thank you, Measha!

Overall Plot: The two plot lines, one of a work issue and the other their love, was successful. I enjoyed reading how the investigation played out in between the budding relationship between Scott & Sophia.

Bottom line: 3 stars for a good story & a good time!

Remember the fainting lady from Valentines night at Blacklight?
This is her story.
Sophia is a Detective, recently transferred to a new town, a new Precinct, a new partner, and a very interested kink-newby.
Her first night at any BDSM related venue, she faints standing in line for the Roulette wheel. Her new partner, Detective Scott Russo, Dom at Blacklight, picks her up, feeds her, and puts her to bed.
And the next day they are back to working together on a convoluted murder case.
When Scott agrees to teach Sophia the basics of BDSM their work/private life becomes complicated.

With a sure hand Ms Stone mixes their quickly growing and heating relationship, luscious scenes, and the ever more complicated case.
This latest addition to the Blacklight world is by turns scorching hot, absolutely sweet, and sometimes I wanted to bang their heads together for being so frustratingly pigheaded!
I am sorry to have to leave the Blacklight family again, hoping to get another invitation to the club soon!

I love strong & independent women, even though just to the ”outside skin”, nobody has to know how submissive you are inside closed doors.

Sophia & Scott are partners at homicide police department, and they work together as an equal, no female/male BS and this got Scotts’ attention, and of course, her curvy body and her thick long & soft red hair helped her cause even more.

Sophia & Scott “casual” relationship starts at night she went to the CLUB for the very first time trying to understand her desires, and Scott was surprised, happy, aroused and jealous to see her there.

Sophie (Sophia for Scott) isn’t like a damsel in distress that needs to be saving, and I love everything about her, even her stubbornness.

Overall was a pleasure reading fun acted suspense/ drama the last but not the least all the SEX parts; it was AMA Z I N G N L Y 😊😍 hot!

I tried to give a little but no much so you can read the book, and I bet you are going to love it just like me.

Another wonderful story in the Black Light series!! This is book number 8 and each book tells its own story, no repetition, no reiteration. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series. Measha Stone writes a story that is well developed, her characters have depth and we care and love them. The story is a page turner from page one - Suspense, Suspense, Suspense! Sophie and Scott are both detectives and partners. In this story, it is the woman who is reluctant and has secrets which may keep her from accepting a lasting relationship with the man she loves, Scott. Sophia Nelson and Scott Russo work together as detectives in DC. They are partners and friends until they are pleasantly surprised to see each other one night at a BDSM club called Black Light. Scott had been attracted to her for a while, but thinking she was vanilla, did not approach her. Together, they decide to explore their mutual attraction. It is amazing how skillfully Scott is able to introduce Sophia into the BDSM scene she has been aching to become a part of.

This is the first book I have read by Measha Stone. This author writes so well that the reader is immediately drawn into the ins and outs of the story line, as well as the developing relationship between Scott and Sophia. I especially appreciate the fact that Sophia has a curvy, fuller figure and Scott sees her as beautiful.

The mystery is complex and intriguing and the sex is sinfully delicious. Will Scott and Sophia be able to continue to maintain an excellent working rapport while engaging in hot, steamy, kinky sex outside of work? Read this book and find out!

One of my favorite aspects of the black light series is that there is a plot. Measha Stone excels at weaving together an interesting plot and the sexiness of BDSM. I love how she is able to accurately and respectfully represent the BDSM community. It is always a pleasure to read this series and this author really gave everything I needed.

The character development was substantial. Each layer of the main characters spoke to the storyline and did not detract from it. The world building was consistent with the series and even when other characters made an appearance everything was kept cohesive. Between the character development and the world building it drew me in immediately with its realism.

The storyline was fast paced and the mystery surrounding the murder kept me guessing. Between the mystery and the relationship dynamics, it really excelled at giving me an excellent read. The layers between it all worked extremely well and played off each other. It was interesting, sexy and real.

5 Stars for a hot, plot driven and exciting read! Highly recommend!

So far, I’ve enjoyed every story in the Black Light family and Measha Stone’s “Black Light Suspicion” ranks right up there. So, I’ll jump right in. Likes: The opening. Way to catch my attention. From there, the likes continue. The personalities of Scott and Sophia play off each other really well and I loved their interactions both on the job and off. And I really enjoyed them working on the case together. THEM. Together. As a couple. Yesssss! I loved how logical/pragmatic Sophia could be as she worked through many of her thoughts/emotions of what she was experiencing and how she responded to each and every one. If you are a fan of the Black Light series, then you will be pleased with its newest addition, which functions as a standalone, and is not a story to be ignored. Buy it, buy it now.

This is an amazing read. It may be fiction, a fantasy if you will but the characters feel very life like to me.
Sophie was amazing, a newbie to the kinky world of Black Light who knew what she wanted and went for it. It wasn't what she thought it would be, it was better.
Scott, he's an experienced Dom who thought he knew all, til Sophie. Maybe even he has a thing or two to learn.
These two made a great team, on and off the clock.
Plus you also get an amazing story within the story, kinda, as they investigate a mysterious death, LOL

I was rooting for them but when secrets come between them can they make it work? Is there hope for them or was it just a brief time that will only live in their memories?

I loved all these books, but you can enjoy this one even if you haven't read the rest. But really, you need to read the rest, just for the pure enjoyment you will get from them!!

Black Light: Suspicion by Measha Stone is another installment in the Black Light series written by various authors.
Black Light: Suspicion is set in the Black Light Club world.
Meet Detective Scott Russo. He has a new partner, Sophie Nelson. Bothg are, onbeknownst to each other, in the lifestyle. And surprise, surprise they meet at the club. But how can they be co-workers and in a s-d relationship at the same time. Seems to be difficult, and it is. Sophie more than Scott, she wants a real life relationship and she´s unhappy. But when a case gets complicated all their attention has to be on their work. It takes her leaving to open up his eyes and see what he´s lost.

Black Light: Suspicion is a scorching hot read, well written and told, I like the characters and the story and give 4 stars.

I'm so glad to finally have the story about the woman who fainted at the Valentine's Day Roulette event at Black Light. Sophia and Scott were so beautiful together! They have a great working relationship, but after Scott spots her at Black Light he is thinking he might be able to have more. Sophia is new to the lifestyle, however, so it's going to take patience from Scott. Is he willing to go slowly? Can she trust him? And what about work? Can she deal with the consequences if their romance gets out at work? To make things more difficult, someone has died and it is up to Sophia and Scott to find out if it was murder or not, and if it was, who and why. This is a suspense filled, passionate, hot, sexy, beautiful story. It held me in its clutches from beginning to end, and I highly recommend it!
