CN Square

Chungnam Square, or CN Square as it is better known, stocks a wide collection of items ranging from pencils to easels. An added bonus: present your student ID card and you’ll be able to get a CN Square membership, which entitles you to a 10 per cent discount with every purchase.

Typo at Cotton On

One of the highlights of visiting any Cotton On store is checking out the latest collection of Typo gifts and gadgets. This whimsical brand puts its own playful stamp on everything from notebooks to laptop cases to water bottles. If you’re looking for cute and creative, you’ll find it in spades at Typo. Better yet, the almost constant sales and promotions mean you’re guaranteed to scoop up a bargain (or two, or seven).

Eslite

Known for carrying high-end stationery products, at Taiwanese bookstore Eslite you’ll find vintage-style wrapping paper, sketchbooks, and million-dollar-contract-signing fountain pens. While the price range is a little higher here than at other stationery stores, you can rest assured that when it comes to quality, you really are getting what you pay for.

Smiggle

With bright, colourful designs, Smiggle’s target audience is slightly younger than the other shops on this list. Its fun collections will cheer up even the dullest of classrooms. One criticism, however, is the blatant use of gender-specific marketing; upon walking into any Smiggle store, you’ll notice that the pink fluffy unicorn backpacks are on one side of the room, while the blue rocket ship pencil cases are on the other. Still, if you look past that, Smiggle will cater to all the needs of kids, and kids-at-heart.
