SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2020 list of scholar-athletes and All-Academic teams this week. Nine Lions of the Saint Leo men's tennis team were inked scholar-athletes, while the Green and Gold boasts the title of an All-Academic team.
To be honored as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, it is required to be an eligible men's tennis student-athlete who earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average (GPA) for the current academic year. The 2020 list awarded 593 Division II men's student-athletes. Of the national tally,
Nicolas Bacella,
Lahcen Boujadi,
Aurel Ciocanu,
Bruno Faletto,
Ghali Mensour,
Alexander Parker,
Christopher Traut,
Willem Van Den Akker, and
Leo Vega received the title of ITA All-Scholar Athletes.
ITA All-Academic teams finished the year with a 3.2 GPA or higher. Saint Leo is one of 95 Division II men's tennis programs to be award the All-Academic Team distinction.
