Only for You

You know the old saying: don’t put the cart before the horse? I lived by that saying. I plotted and I planned and I worked my tail off to make something of myself. It’s the way that I've always lived my life.

That's why I was a twenty-five year old virgin with two more years of graduate school and two jobs. I didn't have time for a man in my life, and I really didn't want one either. I had goals and they definitely didn't include falling in love.

But I did want to have sex because one thing that had never been in my plans was to lose my virginity after the age of twenty-seven. I always thought it would happen in high school. But having four older brothers kind of ruined that. No one in their right mind would cross my brothers.

So I did what I always do… I made a plan.

But there was no way to plan for J.J. McClane or what would come...well, in about nine months.

I am not a huge fan of "oops, I'm pregnant, let's get married" stories, but this one was a bit different. It held a ring of truth to it, as if the author was either relating her own experiences with the pregnancy or someone very close to her. Preeclampsia is a very serious issue with pregnancies and I was on the edge of my seat on this one. Loved the hero - he was a decent guy and was always so kind. A welcome change from these usual philandering jocks who suddenly find the love of their life - just because.... whatever!
Realism also earns big points from me, and this one had plenty of it. When I finished this one, I felt like I had spent the afternoon with a friend, hearing all about her "birthing woes" - but in a good way.

I actually have a less flattering term for women who have given birth and who go on, and on, and on, and on, and on about the entire experience. For those of us who, for one reason or another (or by choice - in my case) did not elect to experience the joys of motherhood, the first ten minutes of these prenatal stories is more than enough information, thank you very much. The rest is sheer overkill. But this story was actually light on the excruciating details, and concentrated more on how two people who find themselves "pregnant" try to find a way "to deal" as the kids say these days. Neither one wanted to trap the other by this pregnancy.

A cute story. I needed something light like this, without too much physical descriptive detail (THANK YOU FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR THAT!) of the birthing process. The one scene that really sticks in my mind is where the hero actually cried - no spoilers here, but its not what you think! It was a very touching moment, though. He is such a stubborn guy, but on this one thing, he refused to budge. (I agreed with him!)

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the third book in the series, and I would definitely recommend that you read them in order to get the full goodness of the story. We met Lee when she was suggested as a perfect person to help run Crave when Cam needed some time off. She is super efficient, driven and always has a plan. Here we see her world take a slant to the side - but really only in a good way!

Determined to succeed, and forsaking romance both in the interests of study, and due to the barriers erected by her four older brothers, Lee decides she needs to let her hair down just once, before she embarks on her graduate studies. The lucky guy needs to live away from her home town, and never needs to know he was her first. Well, her plans go slightly off the rails, when her chemistry with childhood crush Jay results in the one night.

The fun I had reading this, knowing all the characters already, and enjoying seeing Cam and Sierra living their best lives. Lee has always been so self-sufficient and driven, that it is lovely watching her have to take some time, to trust others and to finally acknowledge that she loved J.J. And for all her planning, life determined how it would go, and she had to learn that lesson, but in a good way.

Very enjoyable, easy, romantic and sweet read, what more can one ask for? Thank you C.C. Wood.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Lee has a plan, make something of herself, and pay her own way. That is why she is working two jobs and paying her way through grad school. What she didn't plan on was still being a virgin at 25, so she does what she always does, she makes a plan to solve that little problem before she is 27. But her plan goes a little off course.
J.J. McClane has always liked Lee but with her four older brothers, he thought he never had a chance. When the time was right for them at a friend's wedding, he took it and the end result of their night together just might be the future both are looking for.
I found that I liked J.J. and Lee's story but wanted to slap her brothers several times. Their overprotectiveness was over the top most of the time. I have one older brother but he was never this bad, so I could never imagine how she handled her brothers. Anyway, their story is sweet, fun, heartfelt, and loving. It will have you laughing one minute and crying with joy the next. If you are looking for a new series to read, then you should check out this series from C.C. Wood, I recommend you read them in order so you can keep up with the timeline. Sit back and enjoy them all.

M/F friends to lovers
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Lee is what many would consider a late bloomer in that she finds herself still a virgin well in to her twenties. She wants to no longer be a virgin, but her plans are halted when she attends a friends’ wedding only to have her chances at a hot, one night stand hindered by her friends’ hot older brother, JJ. Lee has known JJ for a long time as he is a friend of one of her brothers. Lee also knows that if her brothers found out she slept with JJ, they might kill him.

JJ has always had a thing for Lee. Sure, he might have hid it well with his teasing and friendship with her brother, Scott, but when he sees a chance to truly see her and get her to see him as someone other than her brothers’ friend, he isn’t going to blow his chance.

These two don’t have the typical romance. Rather, they start cautiously, slowly. It was sweet to see JJ rise to the occasion and to see Lee learn to stand up to her over protective brothers. While the romance wasn’t very gooey or lovey, it did stem from a place of friendship and that helped create a strong bond between the main characters.

Overall, this wasn’t an overwhelmingly great romance. It was slow and methodical. While it was a quick read, it didn’t wow me, but was pleasant enough.

I probably would've given this four stars but then I read the last few pages and became really super irked. Okay, I became really mad. Seriously mad. Anyway, before I head into my one-word tirade about I hated the ending, I'll tell what I liked about the book.

I loved Lee: she's practical, focused, determined, smart, and the list goes on. She seemed a little naive and clueless at times. J.J. was fine at the male lead -- not much character development with him honestly. Just a steady and standup guy -- no demons or haunted past. He was just there.

The writing was fine ... pace dragged in some areas, but overall, it was a very lighthearted and super breezy read.

Ready for my tirade about the ending? One word: ADOPTION! Duh.

After the way, Jackson (JJ) McClane had reacted badly in Book One to the knowledge of Brody and, Cam going to the movies and dinner together. They had sat down to discuss, a ten-year grudge, as two grown friends. But the next day at, Cam and, JJ’s mom’s house. JJ saw something in either one or both of their eye’s that he didn't like. So, he went into attack mode toward, Cam.

Telling Cam, Brody has just come back to town and to not be messing with him and his feelings. He is not the guy for her. He’s established and looking to settle and you’re, you. And, when she said what about me? And what about me and my feelings? And what happened in my relationship? Wrong! Fireworks may now begin. She said yeah, that's what I thought, and left before lunch started. If you haven't read it do it. Funny book also. The bottom line, I didn't care so much for him.

Lee Prescott is a very deep, introverted person, but don't let that give you, in any way a false sense that she is weak, naive, or ignorant. Lee put herself through college not her parents. Her taking dual credit courses in her junior and senior years of high school, even during the summer, allowed her to enter college with enough credit hours to qualify, as a sophomore. Lee graduated summa cum laude three years later. With a degree in marketing.

But, she decided to continue taking classes, until she obtained an additional degree in business. It had taken another two years, of working and saving ever since to pay for graduate school. There weren't many businesses in Farley, Texas, that would expect her to have an MBA before they hired her. However, she wanted to learn everything she could about running a successful business, and, investing before she left higher education behind her.

Here’s her dilemma. Because of her four older brothers, she has never dated. Hence, she’s still a virgin. The first guy to pop into her head that she wanted to help her with her problem was JJ. The thing is to scratch this itch before twenty-seven she would have to travel hours in two different directions to stand a chance. She still has two years then but, Cam and, Brody’s wedding is coming up, and if she wants a “one off” she needs to look at this logically. Brody’s friends, and family from out of town will be attending. She could scope out a guy. And not her Boss’s brother, JJ. Although, she has always had a thing for JJ. And, he’s in town, too much, no complications only two years left. Eye on the prize.

The thing is the two were paired up at the wedding. And, JJ was like a hovercraft next to her, during the whole reception. Without saying the words the author was able to convey to us the reader and of course, all the single men present she’s mine. Yet, poor Lee is thinking, damn he is ruining my game. But, one sigh clears the air, and their first kiss does the rest.

This is one roller coaster of emotions for us and the new parents-to-be. Especially when she has four knuckleheads and four brothers. There is angst, anger, happiness, love, laughter, sadness, rejection, and more.

JJ and Lee are realistic characters. Lee is working her way through grad school to pay for her tuition, she saves everything she can to pay for future semesters. She doesn't want any entanglements to distract her from her focus, until JJ comes along.

JJ has been interested in Lee since they were teenagers. Since moving back he has decided that he wants to be with Lee, or at least give them a chance. After his sisters' wedding, they have a one night stand, even though he wanted more, and Lee ends up pregnant. The baby upends everything for the both of them, but they do not regret the baby.

JJ and Lee work for their relationship, they try to be honest about how they feel, and want to work together for the baby. I loved their dedication to one another, and JJ's ability to put his foot down once the baby was born. I could not imagine the fear he felt. I truly enjoyed Only for You, it was the first book I have read by this author. This story felt more realistic than a lot of the books I've read recently, I'm glad that we got to see how life changed rapidly.

Received ARC in exchange for voluntary honest review.

Only For You is a the last book in the Crave Series.
It is a completely different book than the 1st two, and just as enjoyable.
We find out all about the buttoned up new manager of the Ice Cream parlor, Lee Prescott and J.J. McClane (Cam’s brother)

Lee is a planner. She has planned out every aspect of her life…. well except to actually have a life, and lose her virginity.
She plans to rectify that with someone at the wedding, one of the single friends of the groom. Who won’t know anything about her, her overprotective brothers, her boring planned out life.
She wants one night not to be herself, with someone who hasn’t known her since she was born.
But all of her careful planning gets thrown out the window when J.J. zeroes in on her, and won’t let her go.

This story really plays on the heart strings.
It shows us that sometimes the most wonderful things, can’t be planned or even expected.
What you think is the worst decision you have ever made, ends up being the thing that gives you everything you ever wanted.

Plus, we get the surprise ending of the crazed raccoon Gary… it will definitely make you giggle.

I loved this story, the third standalone in the Crave series. This book is a fun read - about a surprise pregnancy, and brothers' friend. I enjoyed meeting back up with so many characters we first met in the previous books, and getting to know more of the characters we didn't learn much about in the earlier books.

JJ is such a great guy - a loyal friend and brother, and also ready to settle down. He's always been there for his best bud, Brody, and his sister Cam, so it's no surprise that when he finally hooks up with Lee, he's actually all in. Turns out he's been good friends with all four of her brothers for years.

Lee has worked her way through college, and is now working two part-time jobs and attending grad school. She has grown up with four older brothers who love to harass her, but are also over-protective toward their little sis. We have heard about the older brothers just a bit in the earlier Crave books, and getting to know them a bit is a hoot!

This book is a fun read, as we read about how JJ and Lee fall in love, and see more of all the wonderful characters in this series!

I was honoured to win an advance copy of this book & this is my honest review.

This is my first book by this author & I really enjoyed it. The author wrote the book so that all the characters were easily to fall in love with. I want to read more about Clayton & Danielle

Lyria Prescott (Lee or Leelee for short) & Jackson James McLane (J.J. for short) have an incredibly hot one night stand with consequences.

Lee doesn't like accepting help from anyone, she has 2 jobs whilst trying to pay her way through grad school. The fact that Lee HATES swearing and all sorts of bad language is hilarious because if & when you are in the near vicinity of this rare event when she herself has to swear & uses bad language ... well run cos that gun powder keg will blow!!
This book has so many funny moments as well as so many moments that you think J.J. is perfect guy material apart from his annoying shoe habit!

Lee had her lists to accomplish with only her MBA degree to obtain. Living in Texas and being the youngest of four older wild, protective brothers, no one dared to get near her growing up. However, at a wedding, she comes across an old friend from way back. Ready to experience the intimate side of life, she hooked up for a one night stand. However, becoming pregnant wasn't part of her itinerary. Jay always liked her but dared not get close, related to the age difference and her brothers. However, now he didn't want to leave her side. Would it work to approach life's events backwards and make it a success? Very funny and realistic family interactions, presented in first-person, allows the reader to feel Lee's emotional ups and down. Specific details about pregnancy depicts a true understanding of all that it involves.

Only for You is a giggling good time that will make your heart happy. I love J.J. in this one. You get more of a sense of who he is and when it comes to Lee he will make you swoon. J.J. is so patient and caring when it comes to Lee and the unplanned pregnancy. Lee knows her goals in life and always has had a plan. You feel the love grow between Lee and J.J. as they get to know each other more as adults. I love J.J. and Lee together so much. This one just made my heart happy watching J.J. and Lee navigate pregnancy and their crazy families. Our favorite racoon even makes an appearance. I'm excited that there will be a spin-off to the Crave series. I loved this so much.

Oops babies are one of my favorite genres. Throw in laughter, a sassy heroine and a sexy hero you can count me in!! Lee is the youngest and she’s got older brothers who have quite the reputation which has made of hard for her to date. She’s always had a crush on JJ her brothers’ friend and now bosses brother. Cue a wedding , some booze and inhibitions are down causing Lee to become accidentally pregnant. This story was incredibly fun sweet read. JJ is definitely a swoon worthy woo-er who will make Lee a lucky lady. This was a great book and I’m hoping to get more in the future from these characters.

Romance: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Writing: ✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️

The story follows Lee. She hooked up with JJ, her boss, Cam’s, brother after Cam’s wedding. A couple of months later JJ moves back to her town and wants to see her again. Lee, having four brothers, believes that most men are imbeciles and she’s too busy with school to worry about love. Then she realizes she pregnant.

This story was exciting and a lot of fun to read. There was so much love and emotion. JJ was a sweetheart and was absolutely head over heels in love with Lee. Lee was unpredictable and a lot of fun to read about. All the characters were amazing.

I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.

Let me start out say this was such a sweet read! I loved every bit of it. JJ & Lee are described as a friends to lovers and both being very levelheaded. When Lee decides she no longer wants to be a virgin and takes a chance on a childhood crush, sparks fly and walls tumble into a true love story❤️❤️. The dedication they have towards each other is what most strive to have in any relationship. Only for You is a part of a great series and is packed with a fun, loving and sweet storyline that I would definitely recommend someone pick up and start!

This book was alright, but not mind blowing. It kind of felt like it just chugged along the whole way, no real plot twists or climax, it just sort of unfolded. Even when the characters admitted their feelings to each other finally, it was pretty anticlimactic. Lee and JJ were interesting enough, but I found myself getting a bit annoyed at Lee at times with how pedantic and closed off she was. Probably wouldn’t read the other books in the series.

Fantastic, sweet read.

Who knew waiting for that perfect moment with the perfect guy could set the path for the rest of your life?

Growing up with brothers makes dating hard. Even harder when it’s your brother’s friend that holds your attention.

When your friend’s little sister isn’t so little, add a wedding and a dance-life is gonna take a turn.

This is the last book in the series and is JJ and Lee's book. I love how sweet and considerate JJ is to Lee. I love Gary the raccoons surprise and seeing the whole gang together is fun. JJ and Lee's story is unconventional and super sweet. I love what their relationship grows into. Great book!

This was a new author to me. I really enjoyed reading this book. Lee and JJ have to navigate through a one night stand that's results in an unplanned pregnancy. Both have feelings for each other but neither is willing to tell the other. All the meddling family members made this book so much fun.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done ❤️

Only for You is a stand alone story. I haven't read the other books in the Crave series and I suspect there are a lot of shared characters and some recurring jokes, but I was easily able to follow the storyline without having read the others. I'd recommend this book to readers who like low-angst stories.

I received a copy at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

This book was just “meh fine” Nothing new. Follows normal romance formula. Heroine is immature and makes bad decisions. Hero doesn’t talk about his feelings. Things could have been resolved with a real conversation early on.

JJ was an absolute doll, Lee however was a bit too into the “rules” for me to really like her. I just wanted her to loosen up.
Also, lots of unnecessary details included that I didn’t need - they slowed down the actual story.

Apparently I’m reading a different book.
Because mine is boring like crazy.
Every second and step of the day describe into detail .
It’s boring and repetitive.
Don’t feel the connection between them and she acts like a 14 year.
