Staying Connected to Your Kids Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic
Posted at 3:30 p.m.
With all the COVID-19 related stressors in our lives right now, it is important that parents recognize and support their children’s social and emotional needs. It’s good for parents to find ways to communicate and engage with their children to give them a sense of security and stability, but sometimes that can be challenging.
The team from the Department of Family Services Father Engagement Unit has children ranging from elementary to high school age. Just like other parents in our region and beyond, they have been adapting their parenting to meet their children where they are during this pandemic. Some program staff and volunteers compiled a video of some of the fun ways that they have been engaging with their kids. They shared these everyday experiences that will help build their relationships well into the future.
Watch this Pocket Dad video for some ideas to help parents connect with their children throughout the pandemic.
