Cartel Queen was the second book and conclusion to the Almanza Crime Family Duet by Chelsea Camaron. They must be read in order to appreciate the full story.

Cartel Queen continued the story told in Cartel B!tch and focused on Javi Almanza and Mari Belle Dominguez. It picked up where book one left off, but not exactly. Camaron took us back a bit to explain the scene further then took us to the present and future.

I recommend reading both books together as one for the full story. It was well written, well developed, suspenseful and heart wrenching. It was also a fast read closing most loops; however, there were a couple items I desired to be fleshed out further. No spoilers so no elaboration, but all worked out in the end and I can’t wait to read Bleed for It next, a cross over in the Hellions Ride On series that continues the story.

😕

I found most of the story boring

*sigh*

Not quite what I hoped for...

I wasnt invested at all...

The storyline seemed to drag by multiple interuptions of main characters' flashbacks...which actually set the pacing back into a confusing and boring re-play of the things that 'could/might have been' instead of dealing with the present cause they actually had a lot of shit to work out between them as well as the tragic event that made them face and accept the second chance of reconnecting...

But it left me absolutely empty...sadly😕

So THIS is what I wanted to read in book 1... that’s what the blurb promised.

I did enjoy seeing them solve things out— but it was completely irrational that Javier held a grudge against Mari… she was held against her will???

Oh well, it was HEA. Very rushed and scattered. I would have preferred that this was all solved 5 years later not 20…

I loved the first story to this duet "Cartel Bitch", the ending blew my mind and left me heartbroken. When we start this story we start right where we left in the last book and the story is still heartbreaking. Javi is still holding his dying daughter and Mari is screaming to save her.

While you read this book you see that Mari has grown and hardened. No matter what her life is now hers and her alone. If she can't live for her daughter then she will live for herself. She still loves Javi but she will not give herself up for him or the mob.

Javi is pissed. Mari kept his daughter from him all these years, and now she is dead. He wants to punish her, but he loves her and wants to get the story of why she left him in the first place.

This is a great story of revenge, disappointment, murder, family, and finally love. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

Cartel Queen is an explosive second half that will blow you away! We were left on pins and needles with tears streaming down our face with the first half. With Cartel Queen we get the closure we desperately needed. We start off exactly where we were left. Our hearts torn out. Now the need for vengeance fuels Javi and Mari. The need to avenge their daughter is their main focus. Yet it's hard to hide old feelings, love being the main one.

The writing had me so caught up in this story that I was feeling bloodthirsty. I was feeling the pain of loss. Javi and Mari are both amazing and together even more so. I cried, laughed, swooned, fanned myself, screamed, raged with every moment Javi and Mari did.

Not quite what I expected ....

I loved the first book in the series, which introduced me to two fascinating individuals, their brutal reality, and the path that they navigated to not only survive but be better, and I have been so excited to discover where these characters will find themselves second and the last instalment in this duet..but unfortunately and unbelievably this book has left me conflicted...the author has written about intriguing characters who live in a world where there is little or no room for love...and as far as character development and emotional content goes, she delivered...my heart broke for the loss that Mari Belle and Javi suffered there loss felt raw and real. Further more the conclusion was everything I hoped for, however, there were some aspects that left me disappointed.

First of all this was quite a short story; I read it in one sitting. The page count suggested something longer but more than than a quarter of the book was taken up in extracts from other stories and series. I do like to read about other works by the same author, but I had been expecting more of Marie Belle and Javi’s story than I actually got..

In addition the story felt rushed...the potential drama and suspense was not given time sufficient to develop and I never felt the menace or peril that I associated with the first book...I wanted more darkness, more vengeance, and more sweet revenge.....it felt as if the author had simply run out of steam and it left me feeling cheated ....

Finally and this is a tricky because I do not want to give anything away but I think it is safe to say that Javi has a secret which he keeps until the end and once revealed I honestly felt it was inconsistent with his personality and his responses throughout the book towards both life, and in particular Mari Belle

So a mixed bag...I am glad I went on the journey and the second book had to be read for closure... I shall read more of this author’s books, and would encourage anyone reading this to do likewise, but I am sad this series is over and I am sadder still that the finale was not as grand as I had hoped....Summer’s Eve Reads received an advanced copy of this book from the author.

Finally this book is here.... Finally I will have my answers... Finally...
Do you know that feeling of wanting more and more and have to wait to get it? Difficult right? But it's here and I couldn't start it fast enough.
Chelsea Camaron is the master writing not only MC books but also Mafia books as well. Her ability to engage us in her stories is something that I really enjoy and always want more. Her writing is intense, hot and wild, forbidden, dark and dirty... Just the way I like it.
But now let's talk about what brought me here. Cartel Queen is here, finally, and it's the last book from the Almanza Crime Family Duet.
But I have a warning for you... In order to understand this book you need to read Cartel King first because they are not standalones.
This story continues to tell Mari and Javi's stories. And get ready for them because it will be a bumpy ride...
These two had to go through so much and sometimes we thought that everything was lost.
I can't talk about it because I refuse to spoil so just go get both books.
The plot is intense and raw, full of crime, suspense and darkness. Each chapter made me even more engaged and I couldn't put it down. I wanted to keep reading and reading despite all the pain and sorrow that were happening.
I was so afraid reading a few scenes, then I was excited and then I was really mad.
What the hell was happening? I wanted to kill someone.... I wanted to scream.... Run for the hills...
The interation between the characters is raw and intense, with some wildness into the mix. How can they overcome all that happened?
I'm speechless, I'm overwhelmed, I'm doomed... You name it and I'm sad that this series is over...
Oh Chelsea you rock.... This duet is freaking awesome and I am so happy for the chance to read it. But since I'm a greedy girl I always want more. So what's next?

WOW MIND BLOWN ! I love Chelsea Camaron is amazing love everything she writes I know I'm in for an emotional roller coaster and going in I just knew my emotions were going to hit a HIGH . This can't be read as a standalone you really need to get the fist book in the Almanza Crime Family . The characters have a lot to do with what I was feeling and to see the journey that they are going into . Don't want to give to much away just know you'll laugh , cry , scream , be tempted to through your kindle / book , and be in need of a cold shower because you''re going to need something to cool you down .

"I received an ARC of this for a honest review.

This definitely is not a standalone and you have to read the first to understand this one.

Cartel Queen picks up from the end of Cartel Bitch to continue the story of Mari Belle and Javier. I definitely enjoyed it and cried quite a bit as well. Revenge is always better served cold. That definitely came across in this story. It was really good but not as good as the first one I believe. I felt this second part had too many steamy scenes that weren’t quite needed. I hardly ever say that but in this case, I felt the book would be stronger without it. However, this came with a satisfactory end. Good job Chelsea! "

This could have been added to book 1. Both books were only a bit over 60%.

This book kept going back in the past and moved slowly. Javi and Mari had a 20 year separation based off of betrayal and lies...there was a lot to discuss so to cram their reconciliation at the end was disappointing. I didn't buy it despite being glad they got their HEA.

There was also mention of her biker series. I was slightly annoyed because I felt a little lost when she referred to those characters.

The best of Chelsea Camaron!

This duet is absolutely phenomenal. This is not a standalone you will need to read Cartel B@tch first or you will be completely lost.

With Cartel Queen we pick right up where the first book ended. I am immediately in tears and pretty much stayed that way throughout the book. It is a very emotional read and so full of feels that have your emotions going haywire.

I loved Mari, she shows that you never cross a Mother. That the love of a child trumps all. Her relationship with Javier has span the test of time and together these two are remarkable. I truly think this is some of this authors best work and I love everything she does but this, this is absolutely beautiful.

After reading Cartel Bitch, this book wasn't quite up there for me. Seems like it would have been better to just put it all in one book. Still happy with the conclusion though. Hoping one day Yesnia and Axel will get their own book.

Javier and Mari are such an awesome couple , these two go through everything life has thrown at them and comes out still fighting.

Now they have vengeance fueling them and that never ends well for the enemies., we all know just how painful that can be for the enemies.
This is the perfect book

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Holy Crap on a Cracker!! This book!! Mari is some kinda FIERCE woman!! Javi is not supposed to be the man you love and yet….I. LOVED. HIM!! #AntiHeroLover

When book 1 of this duet ended, I was devastated much like Mari was. Her entire reason for being was dead by her horrible brother’s hand no less.

Seeing the fire and passion burning in her eyes and also in Javi’s, I knew this was going to be amazing!!! Granted they need to clear the air on what happened in the past. Javi is so lost as to WHY she left, and Mari Belle is so conflicted as to WHY she believed Javi really cared for her when she was “just a Cartel order”.

These two have traveled some roads to finally be together. Their passion is only fueled by the hatred for Mari’s brother. Dude has no clue what he has unleashed in his sister, but she is not going to be the passive Mari of the past…helllllla no. She is going to rise and be a new and improved Mari.

Javi is so possessed by his love for this woman yet so destroyed by her. The chemistry of their first kiss after all the years apart….HOLY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t get me started on their fist of their things after being part *Wink*

I loved seeing the conflict they both feel over loving the other when so much has happened and so many lies have ruined what could have been. But man, both characters stand out for so many reasons. Mari is just FIERCE. I mean you just don’t mess with a momma bear or her cubs…you just don’t if you want to live. Javi is so hard but gets so squishy for the woman who has owned his heart since he was a teen.

Such an amazing duet and the cross overs by the Hellions and Devil’s Due was perfect for any fan of Chelsea’s books.

Cartel Queen is the super short but highly emotional conclusion to the Almazan Crime Family Duet. This is a beautifully written book with an incredibly sensitive subject matter that should only be read after reading, book 1, Cartel Bitch.

Javi and Mari Belle experience pain no parent should ever experience when Mari's drug-addled and jealous brother shoots their only daughter in the back. Javi was dealing with enough just finding out he'd had a daughter he never knew, now he can't help but hate Mari, the only woman he'd ever loved for keeping her from him. Mauricio, the man the once called brother, shot his only daughter and now he must die.

This book is a knife to the heart. After Cartel Bitch's conclusion, there is no build up here, just a punch straight to the gut. My heart ached for these two in the last book because no two people have ever been meant for each other more and in this book, I was afraid they'd be lost in their grief forever. Of course, Ms. Camaron brings us back around but not without emotional upheaval galore. I will say that the book was incredibly short and while the whole first part was heartbreaking, the actual love story felt...almost, too easy. I feel that these two would've fought more, worked it out more, etc but nonetheless, I loved this incredible ending to a emotionally charged story! Beautifully done, as usual!

I eagerly awaited the second book in this duet and it was definitely worth the wait! Once again Chelsea Camaron has woven her magic with words by writing a vividly descriptive ending to this amazing story.

Mari and Javier were once a fairytale couple, once upon a time! Instead, as the author says so clearly, they "...were in this cyclone of hatred both of us broken, both of us beaten, and both of us defeated."

Tears rolled down my cheeks at times, from the deep despair I felt. A pain that, although created by words, was so real. This was how emotive the language and scenes were and a very good indication of how the writing is so absorbing and brilliantly crafted.

Raw sexual passion that was hot, hot, hot! The chemistry between Javi and Mari is still sizzling and demanding however it isn't something that takes over the storyline, it supports it.

There are twists and turns in the plot to change things up and keep readers on their toes, you never know what's around the corner, which is exciting and entertaining. This fast-paced story is very easy to read, yes there is violence, darkness, the effects of drugs but it is all smoothly blended into the storyline. My only concern is that it is quite short so that's why I gave it 4 1/2 stars and the only reason.

She's back! Mari Belle is risen from the ashes to a powerful Queen and who will be left standing is the question?! This is the second book in the Almanza Crime Family Duet so you MUST READ Cartel B!tch to see the reason for the transformation, otherwise it really loses it's power, and you will be left in confusion. I've never hidden the fact that I completely believe that Chelsea Camaron is utterly brilliant but she's gone above & beyond her norm with her newest work, and while I normally am not a big fan of the antihero, she's sold me on Javier. That's not to say that Javi didn't need to be junk punched and/or a knife to the throat a time or two, because he did, but thankfully, Mari is no shrinking violet in this conclusion, and isn't taking things lying down. She gave me the closure that I so desperately needed after the men in her life used her like chess pieces. And for that, I give her a resounding standing ovation. I just hated that it took my heart being shredded for so long to get there. Have I confused anyone yet? Intrigued anyone yet? I hope so, because seriously, the twists were everywhere that led to sky high angst, and f-bombs dropping like crazy, so just go and read this epic duet that is not your average crime family romance! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Oh man this book!!! I thought the first book was good it had nothing on this one. I was highly anticipating this book as the first one left us hanging with such a heartbreaking ending. I couldn't wait to see what happens and my heart was shattered through most of this book. Chelsea did such an amazing job with the writing of these characters' stories that I felt their pain and heartbreak, their devastation and loss, their angry and need for revenge, their rekindling love. Basically she did an outstanding job conveying their emotions. I couldn't put this book down until it was over. Thankfully I waiting to read until everyone was in bed so their were no interruptions because I was on edge.

Both of these characters have lived a life of betrayal and heartbreak but nothing could've prepared them for what lay in store for them. Once two people so in love, now they feel hate and the need for the other to hurt as they do, but that changes the more they spend time together. Both on the path for revenge against the one who wronged them feelings rekindle.

I highly recommend this duet!!! It is a dark and heartbreaking read but it is so freaking good and I loved how this story all played out.

The conclusion of the Alamanza Crime Family Duet is filled with love, hate, and grief. At the end of book one, Yesnia is shot in the back by her uncle, just days after Javier finds out he has a daughter.

Hell bent on avenging their daughter, Javi and Mari Belle go on the hunt for Maricio. Javi and Mari slowly find their way back to how they were before Maricio took Mari away from Juarez twenty years ago.

This book was short. That doesn’t bother me, but what does bother me is that the book itself ends at 68%, and then the rest of the book is previews for Chelsea’s other books. That’s fine—a lot of authors do that, but to have 30% of the “book” be previews of other books just annoys me.

I feel like Javi and Mari falling back in love was a little bit forced. I think it should’ve happened more naturally, with more arguments and fights between them before they slowly come to realize that they only ever loved each other.

Oh, and there’s a small twist near the end. I kind of saw it coming, but not really.

Overall, I feel that this book didn’t really live up to my expectations. I so enjoy books like this one, but this one kind of fell flat.

Chelsea Camaron is back with the explosive conclusion to the Alamanza Crime Family Duet series and let me tell you, Cartel Queen did not disappoint at all y'all. Sexy. Intense. Suspenseful. Raw. Edge of your seat romance. Chelsea pulled out all the stops in this book, throwing a lot at our characters and readers.... and the emotions were very real right from the very start (especially with the way we were left with book one).

Javier and Mari still have story left to tell and man they started throwing punches straight to the heart right from the very beginning. Lies. Secrets. Deceit. Danger. Mayhem. Love. Everything has changed for them and nothing will ever be the same.

When I stepped into their world I knew their complicated journey would be worth it in the end with quite a jump to get there but I never expected how fiercely they would steal my heart.

And I'm REALLY REALLY hoping for in the future from another character or two!

I highly recommend this book but make sure to read book one first.

The Queen has ARRIVED!!

I wasn’t sure what I was going to come into with this book after the way CARTEL B!TCH ended, but it was not the roller coaster that I got. From the first page I was pulled through hell and rage, hoping that there was an end to the tunnel, but wanting to take the ride to see how I got to the end. There was so much emotion in this book. There were times that I smiled softly and others that I ugly cried like crazy.

Mari and Javi have a long road ahead of them, but with the emotions between them, that road is a bit rocky. But, there is love and a passion that cannot be squelched.

Chelsea Camaron has taken me through so many emotions in CARTEL QUEEN. I really wasn’t sure how this was going to end and that made it exciting to me. I KNEW how I wanted it to end, but didn’t know if I was going to get that. Chelsea was able to create twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and was able to wring me dry of emotion and then fill me back up. This story is an ugly beautiful piece of work I absolutely adored.

Has to be read as a duet after Cartel B!tch to follow the storyline.

The story begins with angst and despair, it follows on right away where we left the last book and my heart breaks for Mari. The tension, anger and despair begins again and it continues unforgivingly though out the book. My emotions were wrung dry.
Mari was a magnificent character, she had been treated terribly and had been strong enough to bounce back every time, proving her mothers love gives her strength and will trump all others. And Javier was there but their relationship had been through a lot, a reconciliation is along way away, as anger and disappointment are at the forefront.

This duet was a different story for Ms. Camaron but it was a remarkable read, full of angst and emotions, it pulled me in and the characters Javier and Mari had me shouting for their HEA. This has to be one of my favourites by this author, well done!

In this second book fo the Cartel series, we get to really get a good look at Mari Belle, whom we met in book one, Cartel Bitch. We start out the book following her on her wedding day. Nice wording, to help with the visualization. It was fun really getting to read her wedding day to Javi. I really loved Javi's mother. She's such a good soul. After we see the wedding day, we jump right back into where we left off in book one with Yesnia and her Uncle's actions. We see the aftermath of those actions now. Why is Mauricio running? Who is he running from? As we watch Javi and Mari find one another again, we learn more about Yesnia. What do we ultimately find out about their daughter? Read and find out!

I was pulled right into this story. This is a 2 part story so be prepared to get both parts. The story has laughs, secrets, lies, pain, betrayal, suspense, and naughty times.

This is the second part of the story. This is the part where you get all your answers. They might not be the answers you wanted or expected but you get them. Where there is hate it sometimes turns to love. Not just any love but an all-consuming love. There is danger and suspense, lies and secrets, and answers. Get ready for the edge of your seat ride that will have you falling for the couple and rooting for them to be together. As always this author knows just how to keep you turning page after page up until the very end.

I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Now it's time for part 2 and it starts right where part 1 ended and let me tell you what I felt in part 1 Mari was a weak, timid woman who was full of innocence, the woman came out guns a blazin' this time around, "...I don’t expect you to stand down, Javier Almanza. I expect you to find him, make him pay...." Javi at times is put in his place by his woman, "with those words, she exited the car and I was left feeling like I didn’t have the upper hand. This made me uneasy." I enjoyed this book, probably more than book 1, Mari really came into herself and fought back I really liked that. Javi, learned some things about his woman that he didn't know.

I was eager to find out what happens in this story and this author came trough with a mind blowing solution that was just right...except for how short it was, that's why I gave it 4 1/2 stars.

Continuing on from book one the story tells what happens to Javier, Mari and Yesnia. Mainly told from Mari point of view but also Javier's too.

At times the emotions run high where you find yourself fighting back tears while at other times the sexual tension between the two lead characters is smoking hot!

I especially liked the twists in the story that made things very interesting and definitely boring.

Overall a great story I recommend to other readers.

This was a good read, but I didn’t feel as connected to the characters as I did with the first book. The conclusion to Javier and Mari’s story felt rushed to me. There was no suspense in the search for Mauricio, and the revenge ended too quickly. As a fan of mafia/cartel books, tv shows and movies - I would have expected it drawn out more. The hatred and vengeance that was supposedly consuming the characters just fizzled out for me.

I enjoyed seeing characters from other series and as a whole, this was a quick and enjoyable read, but I did expect a bit more - so this book left me feeling a tad disappointed in the storyline.

WOW!!! Cartel Queen is a phenomenal conclusion for this Duet!! This is my absolute favorite from Chelsea Camaron she totally stepped out of her comfort zone with this Duet.
At the end of Cartel Bitch I was in shock with what happened and yelling at my iPad. I didn’t want it to end. Then I get Cartel Queen and it starts right where Cartel Bitch ended. This book was absolutely mind blowing. I didn’t put it down until I was finished. Javi and Mari story has it all love, hate and betrayal. They are extremely intense this Duet is everything. Okay I’ll stop go get this book. You must read this Duet.
