From international bestselling author Sav R. Miller comes a steamy and twisted love story between two humans haunted by their pasts.

In the wake of her father’s death, lonely Juliet Harrison struggles with the guilt over her loss. She deals with it the way she deals with everything: by burying her feelings beneath impulsive decisions and desecrating the local graveyard. But Juliet isn’t as invisible as she believes.

Hiding out from the ghosts of his past, Kieran Ivers is known in King’s Trace as a homicidal hermit. But the rumors don’t stop him from visiting the cemetery to taunt his late brother’s remains.

It’s there he first spots a woman engaging in lascivious acts on her father’s grave, and becomes enraptured by the darkness surrounding her. When she leaves behind a necklace, Kieran finds and keeps it until he can score a meeting with the mysterious siren.

He doesn’t know she’s the sister-in-law of his rival, or that she is drowning in her sadness. Nor does he care.

Once he’s decided what he wants, he’ll stop at nothing to get her.

*Sweet Solitude is the second interconnected standalone in the King's Trace Antiheroes series, a dark romance trilogy revolving around a corrupt small town in Maine. Reader discretion is advised. For all content warnings, please see the author's website.*

Honestly, I'm not too sure where to start with this one. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love antiheroes. I'm forever in search of that perfect dark romance that drags me under and never lets me up for air, leaving me with a bookhangover from hell in the best kind of way.

Those stories are rare.

This is that story.

Kieran and Juliet are so real, so raw, and so damn relatable that it's impossible not to fall in love with every piece of them. They will frustrate you, make you laugh, make you cry, and show you that everyone is worthy of being loved. Of being seen.

"I gaze out the window, counting the stars dotting the night sky, feeling infinitesimal in comparison. I'm not sure how I can feel like the weight of the world rests on my shoulders, when it's clear the stars carry most of the load. That's why they're scattered, displacing our troubles in the dark so we don't have to face them in the light."

Sav is a poet. It's why she's one of my all time favorite authors. There's not many people who have the ability to paint a potrait with their words in such a natural way, effortlessly drawing you in and squeezing out your emotions, making you feel as if you've lived the experiences you're reading.

This book is not a fairytale. It's dark, and deep, and beautiful. It takes you into the underbelly of King's Trace and shows you the beauty of what lurks in the shadows.

"She's a fucking masterpiece, dirtied up just for me; a work of art that deserves to be hung in my own private louvre. A mess of pastels and mixed paints, designed as if the universe had me in mind at her creation."

Believe me when I tell you that you NEED Kieran and Juliet in your life. Especially Kieran. (But I totally have dibs, and that's just the way it is.)

I am so thankful to have had the honor of reading an ARC of this, and I cannot wait for the next one. This is one of my all time favorite books. EVER. I can't wait to have the paperback on my shelf.

Thank you for writing beautiful stories, Sav.

This was my first read by this author and a five star read for me. Sav has a way of storytelling that paints a very clear picture and makes you feel all the emotion the characters are going through. I loved the character growth throughout this book and I fell for Kieran Ivers so bad. Who doesn’t love a antihero?! 🤤 I did have a couple questions, mostly to do with Juliets family (her sister and brother in law) but I think if I had read the first book in the series (Sweet Surrender) then these would have been answered. But this did absolutely not take away from the story and how much I enjoyed it.

Now this is a note to myself about this author I got blocked by this author i think today I'm guessing for my reivew (because that's the only thing I can think of) she did follow me on ig I never been rude to her or anyone.

Now I wouldn't mind or care if she unfollowed me for my reivew. I was kinda shocked she blocked me for my review. That I find alittle extreme? Why block someone? Because I said what I said below? To be honest I'm over it. But I won't forget it. Moving on.

I'm not going to change my reivew its going to still be a 2 star (No she didn't tell me to change it). Another side note yeah I'm ignore her bffs work also.

Now to anyone who reads my note dont bully anyone. Read or don't read the authors work thats totally up to you.

------------- Review START HERE

I read book one in this series so I thought I would give book 2 a chance. It could have been a higher rating if sex with op wasn't shown..
Atleast the couple didn't cheat on eachother when they were in the relationship like the first couple.

Juliet is the towns playgirl men after men and she has been sorta getting her revenge against her asshole dead father by sleeping with men on his grave even if she has mixed emotions for that father. What a good fuck you to him lol. Little did she know she was being watched by Kieran. As for him I did enjoy him alittle better he was rough around the edges and had a good heart around his family, and had something of Juliets that he makes a deal if she wants it back she has to do something for him.. both have demons and I enjoyed them being together and working though some of them. we also have some betraying and secrets being uncovered.

Daddy kink which I love ❤ was spicey the sex scenes yummy (atleast the ones between the main characters)

Angsty, Om/ow scenes( H was with someone and h sees it and h was with 2 guys and H sees), no cheating (when they are together), drama, slight secondary character, sexy times, no virgins (both were with someone before being in a relationship)

Recommend- eh/maybe

From what we have learned through Sweet Surrender, we know that Juliet's life has been anything, but 'normal', but we don't really know how that life and the secrets unravelled in her sister Caroline's story have actually affected Juliet. But, despite feeling invisible to everyone in her life, Kieran SEES her. He is drawn to her, believing her darkness calls out to his.
Kieran is deeply haunted, atoning for the sins of himself and his brother the only ways he knows how. Subjecting himself to the darkness engrained in Ivers men.
.
Sweet Solitude is full speed ahead on both steamy scenes and dark acts from the very start, detailing the depraved acts forming Kieran's everyday life in the first few chapters. Both Kieran and Juliet enjoy casual hookups and there's an immediate and obvious sexual tension whenever they are together. Kieran's actions not only have Juliet questioning herself and how she reacts to him, but will also have you questioning what you find attractive too!
.
I love that throughout the story, even when it is clear to us as readers that their connection is becoming 'more' than either of them anticipated, they both remain the same in their attitude to each other. Usually the a-hole hero softens and shows a completely different side. Not Kieran, not really. And that's perfect, because it isn't what Juliet wants or needs. Their foreplay is in the way they rile each other up, in their snark and insults. Their punishments acting also as their rewards.
.
As well as our main couple's journey, there are some new revelations on the history of both families and the events from Sweet Surrender. Those last few chapters were just EVERYTHING. I couldn't stop turning the page wanting to know it all NOW. And that last epilogue, GAH! I can't wait for the next book!
.
Also as a side note, have you seen how gorgeous these books are?? The inside formatting on the chapter pages in the paperback look amazing! Definitely will be adding these to my paperback collection one day soon 😍

"Even if Kieran Ivers is the Devil himself, I find myself wanting to burn right alongside him."

ok phew this book was a tripppppp.

So I read and LOVED book 1 and with the way it had ended with a tease as to what as to come with Kieran and Juliet I knew I was going to love this one as well. Damn, did I love it. Sav has such a way with words, she is honestly such a talented writer and I can't wait for more people to experience for themselves just how good her books are. the writing, the sex scenes, the mystery, the angst...its all AMAZING!!!

Sweet Solitude is about Kieran and Juliet. They each have not so pleasant reputations in Kings Trace, but when the two of them come together all of that falls away. They have an undeniable attraction that they can't ignore and they're about to chase away their demons when they're together. I really loved how tortured these two characters were but were able to find some happiness within each other.

Don't even get me going on the steam scenes in this novel.. holyyyyyyyyyyy probably some of the hottest stuff I've read in awhile.

And once again, Sav leaves us with a little tease of what is to come in the third book and I am READY!!

Dark, suspenseful, steamy and emotional

I love when I read a book where the antihero is doing something to end unjust/inhumane business, and that’s one of the many underlying themes of this book.

The prologue begins with Kieran‘s perspective, and he’s listening/watching Juliet desecrating her father’s tombstone with another man (yup- you know how😬). She often goes there and does this, and he always enjoys watching and hearing her do it 😅😬. This is Juliet’s way of seeking revenge for the wrongdoings of her father, which happened in book one. The things that her father did and was involved in was sickening, and Juliet’s constantly battling the death of her father and the abandonment of her mother.

Juliet dropped out of school, without telling her older sister, and is unsure of what to do with her life. She goes to a charity event, a masquerade, and suddenly feels the urge to throw up- which is when she encounters Kieran for the first time, with another woman 😒🙄. She doesn’t immediately leave, and then realizes that he’s bigger than her in every way and can easily overpower her. Kieran’s part of Ivers International, a massive cybersecurity empire that’s a front for their dealings in crime organizations- and this dangerous man (nicknamed Doctor Death) has her locket- the locket she treasures, and she wants it back. In order for her to get it, she’s gonna have to do whatever he wants, and he has no qualms about getting what he wants from her 😈.

What I liked: possible SPOILERS
-The chemistry between Juliet and Kieran. Oh… dear Lord 🔥🥵 these two have a visceral/PRIMAL connection. It might’ve started on Kieran’s part before (since he’s watched her with OM), but once they’re in the same room, holy hell 😅. Kieran wants what he wants, and he’ll do any kind of convincing to get it 🔥🥵 with or without permission 😬. The smexxxy scenes are explosive and diiiirty 💦😉. Although we see Kieran with OW early, once they begin their relationship, he only wants Juliet. Same as with the h. We see her with 2 OM, but after she and Kieran are together, only him.

-the smexxxy threats Kieran makes. She’s his and no one else’s- unless she wants the other man to die 🤷🏻‍♀️ he’s nicknamed Doctor Death for a reason; don’t tempt him. He gives no Fs. J/P ness 👏🏻💁🏻‍♀️.

-what Kieran does behind the scenes. Trafficking is horrible, and I don’t mind the torture for those at fault 💅. Blood may be thicker than water, but it means nothing if you’re part of this horrible crime. He’s a “bad” guy, but I didn’t see him as one 🤷🏻‍♀️. He has a soft heart for a lot of things.

-the sense of family unity-Juliet has a loving sister and brother-in-law and Kieran has his family as well. Both have close friends. I love how her BIL pushes her to define her future ❤️

-although this is book 2, we get enough information from book one to understand what’s going on. I won’t ever read it since there’s cheating in that one, so I appreciate that I got all the backstory needed.

-their love develops over many months- it’s not instant

-the angst: I always appreciate when we feel what the characters are going through, and the author’s writing was well done.

-the twist 🤯

-he calls her KITTEN 🥰and there’s praise kink 😉

What I didn’t like/needed more:
-the OW scene. *Sigh* why is it always an OW on her knees? 🤦🏻‍♀️ at least we see Juliet with two OM 🤷🏻‍♀️that’s what allowed me to continue

-the time jumps- it was hard to keep track, but I appreciate pages not being filled with useless information

-the 🍑 to 🐱 scene 😳😳😳 in that order. It was cringy, but not horrible

Overall, I enjoyed it despite all the stuff listed in the ⚠️

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no cheating/sharing
-noncon/dubcon
-dark/violence/torture
-OM: the h is with 2 OM. The H watches both times 😬. The second time is after they meet
-OW: she’s on her kn££s. The h goes into the bathroom to throw up and walks in on them- she doesn’t leave 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️and keeps watching until he finishes (by erotic asphyxiation 😳)
-praise k!nk/breath play/sp@nking/voyeur/exhibitionism
-light d@ddy k!nk
-breath play
-the h is s€xu@llu assaulted/almost r@p€d by a man- the H takes care of him 💅
-no c@nd@ms- and the h has been with 2 OM 😬. They don’t really talk about being clean, but come on🙈. Neither have been celibate and her being on the pill doesn’t mean clean. The second guy the H sees the h with starts to put it in, but stops to put a c@nd@m

4.25⭐

I read about a MURDERER who actually skins people off for a living and I am giving him all my heart eyes. And that's something people should know about me.

Okay so Juliet is a girl who lives with her sister and her husband who is also a capo. She fucks over her father's grave (yeah I know 😌). Damn sis is defiant. She has her own demons that haunts her so she goes off the bridges just for the thrill of it.

Kieran. *Wears heart eye goggles* this man has a count of murders on him more than there are people in that town. But he does it for a good thought. (Does that justify the murders because I just read about him? Absolutely right. Yes my people it does) . He's got all his evil in his head. And call it fucked up but he lived with that just fine.

Okay so yeah he finds a necklace that belongs to Juliet in the graveyard. (Yes he heard her getting fucked there. And yes he jerked off IN the graveyard over the moans of her getting fucked 😌)

Juliet wants the necklace back. And Keiran wants her. Soooooooo.....can we do the math pls?

“What would you do to get this locket back?”
Her lips part, eyes drifting to mine as the words fall from my mouth. “W—what?”
“What would you do?” I ask. “Anything".
“Oh, kitten. .You’re gonna regret that.”

*Raising eyebrows* okay I'd say that in the start of the book I ..mm...think they went a little too much with the sex thingies with the talk about fisting and Y'ALL MY MAN SPAT ON HER smh. But it iz what it izz *Shrugs*
But the book built like a good ass bitch.

“No one touches you and lives. Do you hear me, kitten? Anyone even looks at you for too long, I’ll slit their throats and bathe in their blood.”
*Cough cough* fuckinghot *cough*

“You love her, don’t you?”
Christ, I fucking do. And I’ll burn the entire goddamn world to a crisp if I don’t get the chance to say it to her face.

All this time he thought that it was just a sexual attraction that he was feeding on disguising under the game of trade of her locket. But instead he fell flat on fucking face in love with her. And this man actually killed for her. Now top THAT.

“I think you’re only evil because you choose to be,”
I think you’re scared.”
“Baby, sometimes people are just bad. There’s no rhyme or reason, they just are.”
“Maybe. But you’re not one of them.”
“Are we just conveniently forgetting all of the horrible things I’ve done to you?”
“I’m not forgetting them. I’m choosing to forgive you, because the good you’ve done for me matters more.” She presses a kiss to the column of my throat. “And before you say it, no, I’m not giving you an upper hand by letting those things go. Forgiveness is for me, not you. It’s my peace of mind, my sanity on the line. If it helps you sleep at night, that’s just a bonus.”

Things aren’t perfect, but they never will be. They’re muddy and unclear, sometimes truly dark in manifestation. But the absence of light doesn’t always mean an absence of goodness—just that, like some flowers, some souls learn to bloom at night. For now, I choose to embrace the darkness.

This was another WILD ride. I won't lie - I enjoyed reading this. There was also a LOT of stuff I couldn't totally get behind. Consent was iffy in this and there was a lot of the girl saying she doesn't want it but the guy being able to ~just tell~ that she really does. So that was not great. Also the love interest is a professional torturer and murderer who works for the mafia. The main character, Juliet, seems pretty fine with that and ends by concluding "the absence of light doesn't always mean an absence of goodness - just that, like some flowers, some souls learn to bloom at night. For now, I choose to embrace the darkness". I would argue that having sex on your abusive father's grave with the man who brutally murdered him is a little more than accepting that some flowers bloom in the dark, but what do I know 🤷

Ok so I wasn't sure she could top Sweet Surrender but OMG did she! This book is everything a dark romance/mafia romance should be. Kieran is slightly unhinged and Juliet is damaged from years of being ignored by her parents but together they soothe the broken parts in each other. There is just enough romance and mystery to keep you turning the page. Warning it is addictive, you won't be able to put it down and there will be the book hangover the next day!

Kieran and Juliet are goals

Extremely messed up goals, but goals nonetheless lol. Their relationship was so passionate and volatile it’s easy to be sucked into. I was into their tension from the beginning. (Safety note: OW/OM on page scenes but before they were together)

Give me a dark and depressed character and I will relate SO HARD. Juliet (FMC) and her inner turmoil had me in a chokehold because damn, those thoughts circulate my mind. It’s amazing how well Sav R. Miller captures mental illness and reflections on self worth.

Kieran (MMC) was wild, he was all over the place, he was fierce, but most importantly, he was loyal to Juliet the moment they made that deal. And those 🔥🔥 scenes with him and Juliet? 🥵🥵 HAWT.

I do wish we saw some development with Kieran tho. He had a dark soul and I would have liked to see him get some peace of mind, he deserved it.

It’s no secret that I love messy romances and storylines- things that don’t have a neat little bow on everything. It brings the story, the characters, to life. This was beautifully messy. It was even better than the first book imo which is crazy considering I love Caroline and Elia.

I cannot wait to reread Boyd and Fiona’s book. She’s such an underestimated character 😏.

When I read the first book of the King’s Trace series Sweet Surrender I absolutely fell in love with the way Sav hooks me with her words. I honestly thought that it couldn’t get any better until I received the ARC copy of the second novel in the series, Sweet Solitude. Sav has a way to make her readers feel like they are part of the story and leaves you with wanting more! Her words are like a drug that I just can’t shake! I instantly fell in love with Kieran and Juliet and I’m sure everyone else will as well.

This is my first Sav R. Miller book but it will NOT be my last! I knew I was in for a wild ride from the first pages of this book, but when Sav promised us an anit-hero we couldn't resist, she did not disappoint. From the opening scene that had me asking a million questions, to all the little moments, Kieran is raw, uncontained, unfiltered sex on a stick, to be quite frank. He and Juliet have serious chemistry, and I love that I was able to follow along with their story without having read the previous book. (Although let's be real, I'm gonna end up devouring it now, too.)

I love the mystery and underlying plot arcs taking place alongside and behind the scenes of Kieran and Juliet's story, and the way Sav wove them together to create more made this such an interesting read, but more than that it's the way she writes. The language and flow of this story meant that we got to see sides to these characters that a lesser author may not have been able to show us or balance with the dark parts of who they are as a whole. Kieran is an anithero at his core. Juliet is flawed and imperfect. Neither one is naive or innocent and yet Sav was able to show us that despite what everyone thinks of them, despite where they are from or what the world has thrown at them or tried to turn them into, they have managed to find beauty in fleeting moments and chase happiness in stolen moments together. But that doesn't mean it's easy, and the angst and ache we get to see makes it even better.

I can't wait to go back and read more about Juliet's sister and explore the beginning of King's Trace and all that comes with this world!

"Spank me, Daddy" or "Choke me, Daddy" HOTTTTTTTTT HOT HEAAATTTTTT 🥵🥵🥵 the raw, sexual magnetism between Kier + Jules is palpable! I keep gasping and biting my nails off during their love-making sessions. It's like I'm standing there, present in the book, watching them. Ew, creepz I know!

Anywayssss, it is definitely acceptable to call all of our book boyfriends/husbands, Daddy but real-life? *Cringe* 😂😂😂

On a serious note;
All I wanna do throughout the whole book; is to extend my hand, or shoulder or heart to heal both Kieran & Juliet (& Caroline) 😢

Words cannot even fathom the pain, the betrayal, the weight of the burden both weighing on their shoulders. & Most of the time, it's from the people who you thought would never hurt you.

I gotta be frank, if I were to start typing even more, I might narrate it out for all of you & spoil it. But I'm sure you know by now that...I want you all to feel the pain too.

I didn't know what to anticipate and the crux of the tale is not what I would've been able to foretell.

My kind of man. Kieran Ivers is one hundred percent MY KIND OF MAN!
Sweet solitude, by Sav R. Miller is a hell of a ride! OMG, I really needed some time to catch my breath. How hot and twisted is this book?

Kieran is the perfect antihero. There are no ‘buts’ in his file for me. He’s cocky, deliciously skilled and a dominant by definition. He’s also got demons to slay, although it doesn’t prevent him from doing what he feels needs to be done, and taking what he’s sure belongs to him.

Juliet is also a girl tormented by her demons, who uses pleasure to numb the constant pain which seems to control her heart and soul. That is until she meets Kieran, the only one who can give her what she craves.

I love the way the characters connect through passion and desire and how the author does not refrain from going deep – this book is hot from beginning to end!

Miller’s prose fantastically enhances this experience and I’m sure lovers of mafia, dark romance, will be just as obsessed as I am.

5-star read!

Book 2 in the Kings Trace antihero series. After the scandel of Juliet and Caroline's father and apparent suicide, their mother skipt town, Caroline was married to the head of the Montaltos crime family with a daughter and a son on the way, although Caroline can be overwhelming at times Juliet finaly has the family unit she always wanted but she still feels empty. She feels torn over her feelings gs towards her father jealous at the attention he gave Caroline yet disgusted at the truth to what was going on. Now she has a unhealthy habit of taking men to his grave for sex but it's there she caught the attention  of the man they call the king of darkness Kieran. Kieran's been filling in as the unofficial fixer for the Montaltos, hes also been keeping his eye on Juliet in the cemetery on her many "dates" and he has her locket that shes been searching for since losing it at the cemetery one time. Just one answer sealed Juliets fate with Kieran, what would you do to get it back? - Anything. Both craving a release that no other has been able to give them, a desire burning deep in depravity, but they need one another. Will that still be the case when secrets come to light? When the past comes back with distrucion in mind, settling old scores? Can these two tragic love birds make it through the small glimmer of light? A well written dark romance, with action,  suspense, desire, revenge, secrets, hot scenes and more!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

"My palm fits perfectly into the curve of her hip, like we're the lost pieces of a jigsaw puzzle someone finally found and put together."

WOW what an amazing book from Sav R. Miller!! This is a dark love story of two flawed souls that just fit together perfectly! Kieran was the perfect anti-hero as is dangerous and brooding but oh so charming and loyal to a fault. It was an absolute joy to see him interact with his family as it really humanized him even though he would kill to protect his own. And Juliet- how my heart bled for her as she thought of herself as broken and irreparable based on her awful upbringing. These two together sparked with each other from the start and their chemistry was smoking hot! I just loved that Kieran saw beneath Juliet's walls to see that she was worth so much more than she believed. And though Juliet wanted to resist Kieran, she just couldn't help falling for him. I also enjoyed the connection to Elia and Caroline as they helped to support Juliet. There was definitely mystery and intrigue in particular around her family, but the romance was definitely the shining star! Definitely check out this mafia romance if you love a story of redemption, healing and love!

- I am soooo happy to have had the chance to read this amazing book !! Ever since Sweet Surrender, I’ve been anticipating the next book and where it would lead and I was not disappointed! Not only did this book have suspense, thrill but also burning chemistry 🔥 The first chapter to this book in Sweet Surrender made me want to read this book!! That chapter had a very scorching scene which I hoped would continue on to Sweet Solitude. IT DID !! Kieran and Juliet’s chemistry was beyond what I expected. Kieran is very mysterious which I loveddd. They both meet in a place where it is sort of taboo to have met and after that Kieran wants to know the real Juliet underneath her fake mask she presents to the rest. You guys NEEDDD to read this book!! Thank you to Sav R. Miller for allowing me the pleasure of reading this amazing book !! Cant wait to see what else you have in store !!

Sweet Solitude is the first book I’ve read from Sav R. Miller and I know it won’t be my last. This book sucked me in from the prologue and I couldn’t put it down. It is the second book in a series; however, it can be read as a standalone.

Juliet is dealing with a few demons. Her father is a horrible man, her mother left her. All she has left is her sister and her brother in law. Kieran has his own demons from his line of work. There is something about Juliet that draws him in, he can see the real person. Juliet is drawn to Kieran, to the darkness. The chemistry between these two is palpable. They are both fighting demons and darkness and they can fight them much better together. Juliet brings out a softer side to Kieran and he gives her the confidence she always needed.

This story is dark, it is steamy, and it was full of unexpected twists and turns. If you enjoy dark romances and anti-heroes than this is one story you will want to read.

I LOVE me a dark, brooding antihero!! And Kieran, ughh, Kieran. 🖤🖤

This book was like...like...rich, dark chocolate and sweet, juicy cherries dripping down your chin. You know? Dark, but sweet, and I wanted to just lap it up.

Too much? 🤣

Seriously, though. I thoroughly enjoyed every page. It was twisted and dark at times, but lighter in others—more than I expected, really. Kieran clearly had a soft spot for Juliet from the get go, even though he was hard and demanding with her, too...mostly in the bedroom. *wink* 🔥

Sav’s writing got even more poetic in Sweet Solitude, too, and I really loved that. It’s hard to choose a favorite quote, but I think I have to go with:

“I’ve never wanted anything more than to crawl inside someone, sew our souls together, and never fucking let them go.” Because it made me giddy and swoony.

But also:

“Healing is an ongoing process...It’s not an overnight destination, and sometimes wounds never fully recover. Sometimes they scab and scar, leaving behind visible, painful residue we can only work to soothe, but never rid ourselves of entirely. And that’s okay, because those imperfections remind us of our humanity.” Because I felt that one with everything I am.

A sexy, and possibly even better (I can’t decide which book I liked more!!), successor to Sweet Surrender.

Thank you, Sav R. Miller, for this ARC in exchange for my honest review! 🖤

From the beginning I was so immersed in this story and never wanted it to end. This book literally pulled every emotion from me, giving me the biggest book hangover in the best way!!!

Sav once again has created a character full of darkness that you will totally fall for. This story is seriously dark, raw and intense yet I found it so beautiful and romantic at the same time.

Kieran and Juliet’s chemistry and connection is so powerful and erotic.
I love how deep the story goes and exceeds the usual limits of intimacy and passion. I cannot get enough of how much these two heal and grow as they confront their inner demons and insecurities leaving nothing between them.
The strength and confidence he brings out in her and the warmth and passion she brings out in him.

This book is honestly one of my top reads of all time!

A dark, angsty small town romance and the second standalone in the brand new King's Trace Antiheroes series!

Hello Kieran!! Holy Moly, you guys! This book is an absolute, need to read now!! If I could give it all the stars I would!!

Sweet Solitude is totally twisted, deliciously dark and Miller's best work to date! I couldn't put down Kieran and Juliet's story. Both characters are troubled, haunted and so raw but their connection is complete fire! And I mean FIRE! 🔥🔥

Sav. R Miller continues to blow me away by the stories she twists and the connection you feel to her characters. Miller has a way of making the reader feel one with the characters and storyline.

I could go on and on about this book (seriously, I can't recommend it enough) but feel its best for the reader to just dive in with as little extra detail as possible - to make the reading experience more authentic and real and to get the total Kieran and Juliet effect.

Sweet Solitude is as close to the perfect dark romance I've ever read; it has everything you could possibly want from a gritty and dark romance. And I promise you'll be left with the biggest book hangover but in the best possible way!

This is the second book in the King's Trace Antihero series and it does not disappoint. If you love dark mafia romance, you will love this. Kieran and Juliet's chemistry blazes throughout the entire book, in fact my Kindle came close to melting a few times! There are some dark themes and moments, which you would expect in a mafia romance, but it balances out perfectly with the rest of the story. Another bravo for Sav R Miller, I loved it.

Wow just wow! This dark romance literally gave me goosebumps. I craved more and more of Kieran and Juliet with each page. This story from the very beginning had me entranced. Sweet Solitude is full of angst, raw and hauntingly beautiful. This is my first book by Sav R. Miller and it most certainly won't be my last.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.

I had so many misconceptions about this book. I had the whole cliche denial romance figured out and then I read this damn book. And it is so not a cliche. Is it the most original thing ever written? No. But it doesn't fall into a cliche either. And it's beautiful.

"I’m not sure how I can feel like the weight of the world rests on my shoulders, when it’s clear the stars carry most of the load. That’s why they’re scattered, displacing our troubles in the dark so we don’t have to face them in the light." Tell me this isn't beautiful.

That was one of the things I liked the most about this book: the writing. I feel like the author grew a lot in the short time between this book and the previous one. Things didn't feel rushed, I was able to understand the plot and I was rotting for the characters and their romance. I was actually able to, in a way, relate to Juliet. And I liked her. I liked Kieran. Granted, I have problems, BUT they were well written. They were full fledged characters and I loved them both. I have half a mind to steal Kieran for myself, but then again I actually enjoy living and I don't think Juliet would be very happy.

And the family! Can we please appreciate the wonderful family Kieran has? I freaking loved the teasing and the "MOM!" It was so endearing and beautiful and real and I loved it.

Also, I appreciate this book so much because it just doesn't give a crap about slut shaming. Juliet has sex tapes and has fucked more guys than Kieran has girls? WHO CARES? The only time that's brought up is when Kieran is being his usual possessive dominant male (which sends tingles down my body) or this one time when he's paranoid (with good reason). Other than that no one gives a damn and I was living for it.

I feel like the whole thing about mental health was done beautifully and approached right: love doesn't solve anything, sometimes you need help. There's no knight in shining armor or savior here. There's you, you realising you're not okay and you working on yourself. And that's such an important message.

In the end, I can only say well done. For an erotica mafia romance this book managed to have a better plot and a more important message than many other books I read that are "real books".

“The truth becomes little more than a telescope through which you can judge people and situations, but it’s lens is still foggy and subject to distortion. It’s the lies you have to pay attention to. The secrets that reveal the most.”

If you’re looking for a pretty story, this is not it.
If you’re looking for heroes, this is not where you will find them.

There are no heroes in Sweet Solitude.
No. There are villains.
A damaged female lead.
An unhinged male lead.

But what is damaged can be repaired.
What is unhinged can find balance.

And if this is what darkness looks like, I don’t want to go back into the light.

Dear Sav R. Miller, where have you been hiding Kieran?! And can I keep him?! Juliet too?! And Boyd?! And since I’m already asking for a lot, I’m taking Fiona as well. 👀

If Sweet Surrender was good, Sweet Solitude saw those high expectations, grabbed them and shot for the sky. This very dark mafia romance is all you’ll need this month. Because damn, the characters, the plot, the 🥵, the twist. Ah. F ing. Brilliant.

Be aware of the devil that lurks in the shadows.
Guard your heart. Darkness can be too tempting.

What’s inside:
🖤mafia romance
🖤dark romance
🖤you touch her, you d!e
🖤let’s make a deal

Adult. 5 stars ⭐️

4.5 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I don’t know about you guys, but when I got a glimpse of Kieran in Sweet Surrender, I already knew I would love him. I love a dark & twisted soul; I love a man who is so misunderstood & judged because that means there’s way more to the man beneath the mask. And what a mask Kieran wore! ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Juliet & Kieran are the same ~ letting the world see what they want to see, & waiting for that one person to take the time to peel the layers back & see their true selves. They have so much guilt that it swallows them whole, just drowning in self hatred, all while keeping pretty smiles on their faces. They tell everyone that they’re fine & peachy, while slowly dying inside. I felt their grief & their hopelessness, their self loathing & the idea that they deserve to be punished. But I also felt their spark of hope to be loved, to be seen, to be forgiven. I felt their chemistry, the sexual tension, & the desire to live again, with one another by their side. ⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Again, Sav takes us on an emotional rollercoaster that makes you fall in love with the broken pieces of their souls. It’s dark, twisted & keeps you wanting more & more until there’s nothing left to give, just the way Daddy Kieran likes it 😈 ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Loved it!

I just love Sav R. Miller's stories! Sweet Solitude is a dark and twisted tale with an anti hero that is only good for his woman. This was a bit of an emotional slowburn. The chemistry was on fire the entire time, but it took a while for their hearts to catch up. Lots of suspense and twists and turns. I'd definitely recommend!

This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: enemies to lovers
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Triggers: sexual assault
