Flipkart is one such platform which caters all our shopping needs. So let us know some facts about this flipkart owner name online shopping giant.   The Flipkart was founded by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal in October 2007 and its headquarters are in Bengaluru. 

Flipkart was initially started as an online bookstore but as the popularity of the company grew it expanded and diversified its operations and is now one of the leading E-commerce marketplaces of India. Now it offers more than 80 million products across more than 80 categories. 

Flipkart has 100 million registered users and more than a million sellers on its E-Commerce platform. The company has invested in setting up warehouses in 21 states to ensure prompt and hassle-free delivery to its customers.

This online E-Commerce platform has introduced its mobile application which has become quite popular with almost 15 Million+ App users and is now thinking of going totally app-based shopping platform. To start this platform the co-founder Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal left their jobs at Amazon and took a huge risk to start a venture of their own which is now paying the returns to them very well. So to deal with this issue, Flipkart launched its cash on delivery service which helped it to build confidence among its customers Flipkart created a record by selling 100000 books in a single day in 2013 and it has crossed the hundred million mark in registered customers in 2016. 

Flipkart has also achieved the Young Turk of the Year award at CNBC TV18 India business leader Award 2012. Flipkart is facing cut-throat competition in the E-commerce market and its biggest rival is Amazon. Recently it has made many mergers and acquisitions including of Myntra, eBay India, PhonePe, Jabong WeRead, FX Mart etc.
