"What have I learned about style? I've learned that I had none before I embarked into this industry," Emily Blunt tells us, laughing, on the set of her January issue cover shoot. "I used to really enjoy wearing men's waistcoats, quite lurid colours, with white jeans, but like mum jeans, before they were cool."

"I wonder if I wore that now if I'd be a trail blazer?" she muses, before adding: "So I've learned that... I think style is an extension of who you are."

Despite that previous self-confessed poor taste in fashion, plus childhood shyness and a stutter, Blunt fell into the acting industry and hasn't looked back, securing some of the most coveted roles available; her latest sees her step into the iconic turned-out shoes of Mary Poppins in the sequel to the Disney classic.

In the video above, the 35-year-old shares what she's learned along the way - about everything from style to career and confidence.

The January issue of Harper's Bazaar is out 4 December. Mary Poppins Returns lands in UK cinemas from 21 December.
