The Whiskey Dinner | Deerhammer Distilling Company + Wayward + The Whiskey Film
Join the creators of The Whiskey Film, Deerhammer Distilling Co. and Wayward for an evening of film, stories, flavors and fundraising in downtown Denver.
Through five expertly paired courses, The Whiskey Dinner will explore the exciting flavors of the Deerhammer portfolio as well as Waywards regionally-inspired cuisine. Deerhammer co-founder, Lenny Eckstein, will be sharing current and yet-to-be-released offerings from the small, independent distillery based in Buena Vista, Colorado. A portion of the proceeds for the event will benefit the completion of the The Whiskey Film a feature length documentary and visual personification of one of Americas most beloved alcoholic beverages: whiskey.
Aside from filling the stomach and soul with a delicious food and libations, Eckstein and The Whiskey Film director, Thomas Kolicko, will also be sharing insight into the history, distilling process, and stories of American whiskey throughout the evening.

First Course: American Single Malt Whiskey / House Pimento Cheese and Potato Chips
Second Course: Rye Whiskey / Pork Rillettes, house Giardinera, toast
Third Course Bourbon / Cornmeal Fried Oyster and hot sauce
Fourth Course: American Single Malt Whiskey Port Cask Finish / Braised Pork Belly, Smoked Barley, Collards
Fifth Course: Rough and Tumble Hickory Smoked Corn Whiskey / Buttermilk Panna cotta, caramel corn

Wayward is the third concept from the team behind The Way Back and American Grind. Wayward is a responsibly sourced and regionally focused restaurant. We believe that supporting small local purveyors and farmers will inspire our regional food system to grow and thrive. We are open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday and serve brunch Saturday and Sunday.
About Deerhammer:
Deerhammer is, first and foremost, a small independent business. High in the Colorado mountains, the distillery is inspired by the bootstrap ambition of the settlers who first settled the west and the passion for exploration that defines Buena Vistas history. As a grain to glass distillery, Deerhammer is focused on process. From recipe formulation to mashing, fermentation, distillation and maturation, weve experimented with every step in the process to better understand the effects of subtle choices on our final product. The result is a unique whiskey steeped in history, yet brewed with a pioneering perspective.

The Whiskey Film is a feature length documentary and visual personification of one of Americas most beloved alcoholic beverages. In chapter form, the stories of the farm land and places where whiskey begins, the ups and downs and complex nature of life as a distiller, and the art form of the distilling process itself will unfold, illustrating each of the key influences that make a great whiskey: art, science, agriculture, time, history, creativity, and education.
