Biketown Design Challenge

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

BIKETOWN is inviting Oregonians today – Valentine’s Day and Oregon’s statehood anniversary – to show their love for Portland’s internationally renowned bike share by participating in a design challenge to bring the next new BIKETOWN bike wraps to the fleet. Tell us your design story through graphics, drawings, words, pictures, crayons…It’s up to you!

Selected finalists will:
  • Have their art wrapped on ten Biketown bikes in the fleet
  • Be invited to participate in a bike release celebration where Biketown will highlight the designers and their art with photographs
  • Win a yearlong membership to Biketown
  • Receive professional photos with winners’ bikes

View official rules and FAQs. Deadline: 8pm (PST) on March 7, 2018. Must be 18 or older to enter.

Finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges and design experts from the Portland community—including Mark Parker; Mayor Ted Wheeler; Joy Alise Davis, Design+Culture Lab LLC founder; Victoria Frey, Executive Director of Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA); and more.

Submitted designs should reflect what the individual loves about the Portland quadrant they’ve chosen to represent – an iconic building or structure, a natural feature, food, a vibe – there really is no limit! Pick your quadrant below.
