Gallery tries to open for a split second and then just goes back to the home screen. Have tried clearing out caches for Gallery, media storage and media container storage. Just did a factory reset, and NO CHANGES. I need to be able to access pictures I take on my phone with my phone! I am able to acquire photos if I plug the phone into the computer but no matter what I do i can't access them on the phone.

I have the same exact issue. Third party galleries work but the Android one doesn't. This also happens with the Camera app and Moovit. Factory reset doesn't help. Did you find a solution for this?
Welcome to Android Central! This is a pretty old thread, so it would help if you gave more details about your situation. Do you have a Desire HD, or a different phone? Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? The exact steps may depend on the phone, so it's important to know which one you have.
