USGA LogoU.S. Open Championship to be held Without Fans from 9/14 to 9/20

On July 29th, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the U.S. Open Championship at Winged Foot Golf Club in the Town of Mamaroneck will be held without fans from September 14 to September 20. To read Governor Cuomo's complete press release, click here

Back in January of 2013, the United States Golf Association (USGA) announced that Winged Foot was selected to host the 2020 U.S. Open Championship (commonly referred to as the U.S. Open). This major golf event was expected to draw approximately 40,000 people per day to our area and was originally scheduled to happen between June 15th and June 21st. But on April 6th of this year, we shared that the USGA Postponed the U.S. Open to Sept. 17-20. With Governor Cuomo’s latest announcement, this major golf event will now be significantly smaller in size and scope. The Village of Mamaroneck is working together with our colleagues at the USGA, the Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, and the New York State Police to make sure our Village is ready for the players and personnel who will be attending this much smaller U.S. Open --- all while ensuring the health and safety of our residents and community. To read the USGA's announcement about this change, click here.

Stay tuned as we expect to announce more details from the Village of Mamaroneck.

Make Us Count Westchester

REMEMBER: Census takers will be visiting households who have not responded. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s safer for everyone - our residents and the Census takers - if the enumerators have fewer doors to knock on. So please help us help them by completing your 2020 Census online, by phone or by mail. To complete the Census Questionnaire online, please visit My2020Census.gov.

These Census takers know to follow public health guidelines when they visit, including any local requirements about wearing face masks. All Census takers will have completed virtual COVID-19 training on social distancing protocols and other health and safety guidance before beginning their work in our neighborhoods. The Census takers can be identified by their valid government ID badge with their photograph, a U.S. Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date. To confirm a representative’s identity, the public may contact their Regional Office.

You can complete the 2020 Census online, by phone or by mail.

To complete the Census Questionnaire online, please visit My2020Census.gov
