Mechanised tree planting Swedish style

Our Swedish friend Alexander Lipkin recently shared a link with me featuring wheeled excavator specialists Conny Johansson Grav AB.

Mechanised tree planting Swedish style
The business is based in Skellefteå which of particular interest to me is a famous ice hockey town in the north of Sweden. Conny Johansson Grave AB do lot of work for the Skellefteå Municipality (local council) and as I understand it, some of this work involves the planting of trees. Of course, it being Sweden most of the work is done using mechanised means, no back breaking labour to be done here, if there’s an easy way they will find it. In this instance the company deployed their Volvo EW170E wheeled excavator (Rubber Duck) with trailer to deliver and plant the new trees. The tiltrotator, in this instance an Oil Quick model with integrated gripper, makes life so much easier on any kind of handling job, whilst a specially adapted Scandinavian style  bucket makes light work of topping up the hole with compost/topsoil. A great set up as we have come to expect from our friends over in Sweden over the years.
