Sugarcreek Love #1

Stay all Night

Rate this book
“Stay all night,” were the words echoing from her lips as I slid from the bed like the scumbag I am.

My name is Tobias Roman Jefferson, I’m a college drop-out fresh from living on my buddies’ couch and nowhere near worthy enough of the likes of Janie Lynn Francis—the hottest girl in Sugarcreek, Texas. Who also happens to be the woman I’ve been in love with for the last nineteen years.

When one stormy night we’re left stranded in my old cabin in the woods, we give in to a night of passion. Only to repeat ourselves the next night…at her house. When she whispers her plea, I escape from her bed as fast as I possibly can.

How can I, the town screw-up, deem myself worthy of the town’s one-time homecoming queen?

Stay All Night isthe first book I have finished in over a month. I feel I need to start my review by stating this because nothing has held my attention lately. Tobias and Janie Lynne are both adorable and Tobias is a sweetheart. There were so many fun and unique aspects to these characters from their pets to a grown man and his teddy bear. I also really enjoyed the inclusion of so many of the southern sayings I grew up with throughout the story. All of the dilly dallying and good gravies made me feel right at home.

Overall, this was a sweet Small-town romance that I enjoyed reading. It didn't blow me away, but it did break me out of my 6 week reading slump.

A sweet storyline with characters that you can’t help but like. Not a bad start for one of the authors debuts. I will for sure check out more of their individual works as they come out

Awwww!!! I spent the last half of that book smiling so big I’m glad no one was home to witness how crazy I must have looked. I mean CoHo herself makes an appearance. If that doesn’t make you smile maybe Henry, Humpty Hump and Fighter will. It’s not all aww shucks moments it’s about karma and redemption and finally getting to be with the person you thought you would always end up with.

Tobias has been wrongly accused not once but twice thanks to his useless brother Jordan. Having taken the fall for him because he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and well that’s what family does especially when one is on a rising star to NFL stardom. His mom has passed and his brother and dad treat him like absolute trash despite him being the only good Jefferson around. He’s now back in his hometown of Sugarcreek and is partner of an animal shelter. He hears his first crush and really first love is back in town. Yet she doesn’t know how Tobias feels. They reunite to catch up and maybe Tobias will start to feel worthy of the love of the girl from the right side of the creek.

Janie Lynn fled Sugarcreek and her family’s expectations. Girls like her are bred to be Stepford wives and attend charity galas. She bucks the trend and flees to recognize her dream of being a veterinarian. When the opportunity arises to return home, she scoops it up and starts her life anew. She knew the chances of running into Tobias is possible she doesn’t think they would become so much more. She has always believed in his innocence and she hopes she can sway his thoughts to make him see how good of a person he is. It’s bumpy and It’s messy but she loves Tobias with all her heart.

Swoon!! I love you Tobias Roman Jefferson. You are the perfect example of a good honest to god person. What his brother did is disgusting. Those poor women. That town should be slapped collectively well the ones who didn’t believe in his innocence. Janie Lynn had my heart too. She grabbed the bull by the horns and took control of her life. She was hardworking and admirable. This book isn’t all just secrets and love its full of some cute animals. I mean a sloth?? Hello and yes please. This book is told in duel point of view and I’m trying to figure out who wrote who. So yes please read this book it’s a start to an amazing series? Who’s next? Maybe Rowena (I think I know where this reference came from) and Rocky?

I thought Stay All Night was a good story with interesting characters that drew me into what was going on and had me invested in what was going to happen with them .Liked Tobias he was a really good hero he did frustrate me with how he handled certain situations but by the end I already fell for him and his new pet and wow the things he can do if you know what I mean (wink) . Janie was a great heroine sweet , funny, kind but no shape or form a door mat . This was a good book and I can't wait to read more by the authors especially in the sugarcreek love series .

Tobias Jefferson is the town screw up. He wasn't always but his junior year of high school things changed--thanks to his brother, Jordan. Jordan also began dating Tobias' dream girl right before the crap hit the fan for Tobes. Everything about his life changed. He continues to crush on Janie Lynn Francis.

Janie Lynn was the most popular girl in high school. The downside to her life is that since two years old her parents have molded her and attempted to prep her for the life of an aristocrat or debutante. She has been bethrothed to Greg since they were two. Too bad that Greg can't keep it in his pants. She dumps his cheating butt. That's not the only changes she makes in her life. She decides that she's not going to continue the path her parents set for her. Instead, she wants to be a veterinarian and care for animals. She gained this love of animal from her aunt. Years later that same aunt asked Janie Lynn to come home. Not in so few words. Janie Lynn takes over for the local vet who retired.

Janie Lynn isn't thrilled about returning to her hometown. But when her high school crush walks into her exam room with a sloth, her day brightened up. She was disappointed when Jordan asked her out--he wasn't the Jefferson brother she wanted back then. Maybe he can be now?

Tobes has a lot of baggage and because of that he doesn't think he deserves anyone especially the girl of his dreams--Janie Lynn. But what happens when things change for Tobias? What if he doesn't have to be ashamed anymore? Can he ever walk around town with his head held high?

Lawd have mercy, poor Tobias, what his family did to him was just wrong. See, he's considered to be the town screw up thanks to his brother, boy do I want to junk punch that one, and now he can't seem to get rid of that title. Then his brother even started dating the girl that Tobias was crushing on, Janie Lynn. And while I fell in love with Tobias, there were times that I wanted him to stand up for himself to be honest, but you know. Anyway, Janie Lynn left to get away from her own icky family, but she's come home to take over for the vet who is retiring, as she's now a vet herself, so Tobias has a second chance. However, he's really let that whole town screw up label shape him to where he believes it himself. They come face to face when he brings his sloth in to her, yes you heard me, his sloth, and all of a sudden things are looking up for both of them. Seriously, I never saw this story coming, and trust me, you won't either, it's that amazing. There's so much yummy goodness to it, and the fur babies are a big part of it. Not to mention, the entertaining secondaries are a big hit as well, so much so, that I pray that some of them get their own stories. There's some secrets that make for a fair amount of f-bomb dropping twists, and you know that I dropped them. So yeah, these two authors made an amazing team, and I'm super excited to read more by them in the future! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I cannot stop smiling. I absolutely loved every second of this heartwarming romance! I was first intrigued about this book because I heard their was a sloth in it! However, once I dived into the story, I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. Tobias and Janie are two very relatable characters that are not perfect, but it's their imperfections that make them so loveable. From the very beginning I was rooting for them! I loved the passion and intrigue of this novel and the flashbacks really helped build their story and give the reader an understanding of why they are the way they are. I cannot wait to read more books by both of these authors!

A fantastic story of love, redemption and most importantly, be true to yourself.

Janie Lyn is courageous. She goes against her family wishes, is discarded by them, except for an aunt, and is left to find her way without all the lavish trappings she grew up with. Returning years later she runs into Tobias.

Tobias has loved Janie Lyn since he was a teen. He’s the towns scorned and for actions he was wrongfully accused of. But as we know Janie Lyn doesn’t conform to expectations and lets her heart rule.

This is a sweet small town romance with important themes along with craftily weaved in endearing quirks (teddy, henry, humpty hump). Well worth the read.

4.5 stars - Enjoyable story about finally having a relationship with your high school crush. I loved the characters in the story, and was rooting for Tobias and Janie Lynn from the beginning. I thought the use of flashbacks was well done and enjoyed the unique elements added to the story, especially the animals. I hope this duo continues to write together and will be not-so-patiently waiting to see if some of my favorite side characters get their own story.

This is the first book in a new series and is Tobias and Janie Lynn’s story. This story flicks between the present and flashbacks into the past which explains what has shaped them to become the people they are today. This is a well written story which had me intrigued and hooked throughout, and is a sweet story with twists along the way. I look forward to reading more in this series and recommend for all.

A book which spans two decades, Stay all Night, uses the method of switching back and forth in time, to bring us the story of Tobias and Janie Lyn. For me, this is a 3.5 star read. I am normally a fan of time switches, but these felt too frequent and not as smooth as usual. I was uncomfortable with certain issues and could not understand why they took so long to be resolved.
I was happy with the development of the relationship with Tobias and Janie Lyn, but, ultimately, could not engage with the story completely. Overall a promising premise which could be devoloped further.

This was a super cute, good book. We get to see present day and then verisons of Tobias and Janie and how certain things in their lives occuring shaped how their lives would turn out. This was my first book by either author and i enjoyed it. I will be looking forward to checking out others. I loved hiw this book turned out for everyone.

D.B. James is rapidly becoming one of my go to authors. Stay All Night was well written and I can't wait to read more from S. L. Peters. Tobias and Jamie Lynn's story is so sweet. In flashbacks, you learn how decisions in their past affect their today. I loved the book and definitely recommend it.

This was my first time reading a book by this author. The story line was good and I very much enjoyed the relationship between the main characters and their love for exotic animals. I am so crushing on Tobias. His secret is sweet and this story makes me want a sloth.

REALLY, REALLY LOVE this collaboration! I love how you can truly put yourself in each of the main characters shoes when you were reading from their point of you. I love that you truly get to know each character and the ups and downs in their life and that it is an all just dumped on your lap it’s slowly unfolds. This book is truly about karma coming full circle and eventually getting what you truly deserve no matter what stands in your way.

This was a cute unrequited love story. When Janie Lynn moves back to her small Texas town after years away in veterinary school, Tobias takes the leap to take her out on a date like he wanted to do so many years ago. Before his brother made a move first, and changed the course of Tobias’ life forever.

Tobias is such a likable guy, even more so because of his low self-esteem (thinking everyone in town hates him) and how he was betrayed by his dad and brother over and over again. I can’t decide if Teddy is cute or creepy, but I still liked the guy and was rooting for him to get the girl he’s been in love with for half his life.

There is a cute “cameo” made by a popular author at the end of the book that made me smile, and the whole story is tied up in a HEA that Tobias so deserves after all that he’d wrongly been accused of.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

A MUST read for you

First time reader of D.B. James. How have I missed her books? JustKindleBooks.com sent me a email suggesting I read this book. Thanks!

This has been one of the most heart-wrenching stories I have read in a long time. I could not believe what Tobias had to endure his whole life. This is truly how a romance book should be written. a love that has sustained in his heart for decades. The happily ever after is not just the love between the couple but......the justice from the City and his brother.

Don't forget to read the acknowledgements and sh*t. Very enlightening.

I liked the idea of this book but not the execution..

I've read books by DB James read before and was rather surprised and disappointed. Parts of the book just keep getting repeated and I don't think this was a good combination of authors. Knowing that this was SL Peters first novel make it more understanding why writing wasn't as good.

I'm not sure I would read more from this series. The underlying theme was rather heavy and was treated like it wasn't a big deal and that having sex was appropriate to celebrate.

Stop taking the wrap for your dumb brother. Stand up for yourself! Chasing after a girl who you think is better than you. *SIGH*
I just couldn't. I couldn't.

Poor Tobias! All he has went through because of Jordon! I wanted to strangle him through my kindle! I liked him and Janie Lynn together. The animals made the book more sweet for me. Always a soft spot for me. And it was nice to see Tobias and his Teddy. Showing not all men have to be alpha jerks!

This book was really hard to get into. I nearly dnfed it. The smut was good but the storyline was seriously lacking. It felt like there was none until about 75%. A lot of phrases were used over and over again through out the book.

Plus: she used Coho for the cute proposal at the end.
