St Vincents GAA Club Notes 7 November. Girls in sport, PNU2 update and more.

CLUB NOTES
Nov 14, 2018

The AGM is just around the corner

As the weeks roll on, the number of fixtures continue to wane. Soon I'll have nothing to speak of. Luckily, the Seniors are back in league action, as they contest the AFL1 league semi-final, and there's still a few U21 and Minor games to be played.
I'll be turning my attention to seeing how we can encourage more players to join the club, or indeed how to attract those who have drifted. As always, I'm open to comments and suggestions, so please don't hesitate to contact me at pro@stvincentgaa.ie.

This Week's Lotto

There was no winner of this week's Jackpot of €1,450. Numbers drawn were
16, 21, 24, 05
There was no online winner. The next jackpot will be
 €1,600
Weekly winners were Helen Thompson Sunday Night Sing a Long – Joe Kearns

As always, you can enter online here

AGM Details

Its now only a few days away: The club annual general meeting will take place on November 22 2018. The official notice is available at this link. If you're a Facebook user, there's an event set up.

AFL4 team are to be no more..

..beacuse they are going to be an AFL3 team!!
Well done to the Intermediate team. They took on Man O' War in the AFL4 promotion play off out on their turf. This was a winner-takes all play off - whoever won would get promoted to AFL3. The lads did the club proud and played out a comprehensive 2-12 to 0-09 win. After the disappointment of a 1 point loss in the Champtionship final, it's great to end the season on a big win. Well done to all involved.
You can view a gallery here, and a little celbratory video we made here. (Note: while they 're on facebook, you don't have to sign up or sign in - both the album and video are public).

Another Club First

Last Thursday, we  staged our first ever Ladies Championship final at Naomh Uinsionn.
The U16 division 3 shield final between St Vincents and St Judes played at PNU.
Congratulations to our girls who won the match 4-13 to 1-2.
A super achievement when you consider that this team were promoted from division 5 to division 3 this season, so really had to step up, and its also a double for many of the girls who won the Div 2 Camogie final in October!

Upcoming Fixtures

Remember, all fixtures are now posted to a dedicated page on the club website. A reminder mentors: If you have a particular game you want supported drop me a note at pro@stvinvcentsgaa.ie and I'll ensure I mention it. Also: If you notice a mistake in the fixtures, please let me know and I can correct it. We've seen over the last few weeks how support can make a big difference to a team; so do make an effort to get out.

Minor A Camogie Starting Well
The minor camogie championship is a short competition run at this time of the year. Our Minor A camogie team got off to a great start. The beat Skerries Harps comprehensively in Round 1 (8-14 to 0-05), and had similar success against Naomh Fionnbarra (6-6 to 0-1) in Round 2.

U21s are through to the final!
Well done to the U21 A Hurlers, who've made the final in the U21 A Hurling Championship, drawn against Na Fianna. It's down for November 24, and we'll remind you close to the time to drum up support. They won comprehensively in the Semi-Final, beating Ballyboden St. Endas 0-26 to 1-7.

It's important to acknowledge wins at all levels in the club. If your team had a good win, shout it from the rooftop! Drop me a note for inclusion
