Welcome to a new year at the British Chamber in 2019.
In 2019 our events will focus on Innovation, and we welcome your partnership and collaboration in exploring and learning more about such fast-sweeping trends as Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, and the future of automotive mobility, on many businesses and all our lives.
At our Gala dinner in May we will be awarding exceptional businesses with our Business Excellence Awards, and soon you will be invited to nominate a company and vote for their selection for one of our Excellence Awards.
In the meantime, we cannot escape the reality of Britain’s pending exit from the European Union. The UK government has indicated they will put the current Withdrawal Agreement negotiated with the EU to parliamentary vote for ratification, on Tuesday 15th January.
At this stage it is possible that the currently agreed deal will not be ratified. At that moment, there are a few posssible scenarios, including the need to find an alternative brexit deal and an increased possibility of an extension to the current March 29 withdrawal deadline.
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome our new members, and upgrading members of the British Chamber since Christmas, we certainly hope you enjoy every experience with us and meet all your objectives as engaged members of our community.
