Prosecutors in the US have released video footage after a man was arrested and charged with insurance fraud in connection with a fake "slip and fall" incident at his workplace.

The man, identified by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C Carey as Alexander Goldinsky, 57, is an independent contractor and was hired to work at a company in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

Prosecutors say Mr Goldinsky purposely threw ice on the floor in the cafeteria at his workplace, placed himself on the ground, and waited until he was discovered.

Mr Goldinsky was arrested on 15 January after investigators determined that he filed the fraudulent insurance claim between 1 September 2018 and 1 November 2018.

He is being charged with insurance fraud and theft by deception for submitting an insurance claim in a fake accident he orchestrated at the company.
