Duty meets desire . . .

Mercy O’Malley hates killing people. So when she’s assigned to take out Vampire-Demon Logan Kyllwood, she lures him to a seedy bar in Scotland, then decides to kidnap him instead. How can she cold-bloodedly end all that heat, those green eyes, that ripped body?

Unfortunately for Mercy, attempted murder and kidnapping are just foreplay for the Kyllwood brothers. Logan may be the youngest of the bunch, but death and violence are already a way of life.  Now he’s ready to complete a painful, terrifying ritual to become one of the Seven, dedicated to protecting this world from the most dangerous evil it’s ever known. But first he has to deal with a blackmailing Fey, a ransom demand and his own pounding need for the last female he ever should have fallen for . . .

4 Logan's Fairy Stars

Anyone that knows me or reads my reviews knows I love Rebecca Zanetti! Like a crazy fan girl love. Dark Protector series is my all time favorite paranormal romance and I was over the moon when Rebecca started writing books in the Dark Protector series again. When I got on Netgalley and seen Logan's book, I lost it. I love me some Logan, Sam and Garrett and I was so excited to read Logan's HEA. Rebecca Zanetti once again knocked it out the park. I loved this book. Logan was just so yummy. Add in Garrett, Talen, Dage and Zane and I was in Dark Protector heaven!

Logan was just so amazing in this book. Protective, sexy, dominant, and loyal. The male had the patience of a saint. He was everything I love about Zanetti's heroes and he stole my heart. Mercy on the other hand took a bit longer to warm up too. Don't get me wrong I liked Mercy, but Lord I wanted to shake some sense into her. At times she was so annoying running from my Logan, charging head first without thinking things through. I was surprised it took Logan so long to tie her butt to a bed lol. Now that being said Mercy was smart, sweet and playful. I thought Logan and Mercy had great sexual chemistry and made a really cute couple.

The plot of this book was action pack and had some twist and turns I didn't see coming. I was really glad that Garrett and Logan are no longer keeping secrets from their family. I am hoping it will mean more time with my favorite Kayrs from past books. I need more Talen, Dage, Jase, Conn, and Kane. I just need more of all of them! OMG My heart broke for Quade and Ivar. I need Quade to get his HEA and he needs a good one for the hell he has been through. Just sayin'! Also I am really curious about Adare and his backstory. Of course I always want more Hope. She was so cute in this book. She reminds me a lot of her mother. Overall another great book in an epic series. I did take one star off because Mercy drove me crazy at time, but still it was a great read. I can't wait for the next one.

What's hotter than a forbidden romance? When the parties are beings from opposing species and their union could lead to war. So hot! Logan and Mercy, together, were explosive. From beginning to end, their story was sexy and exciting and their connection was practically tangible.

For the remainder of his life, no matter how long he had, it would be Mercy he craved.

Logan is next in line to fulfill his destiny - to become one of the seven. He's fated to protect the world from certain destruction and he's found his purpose. He's uber protective of those he loves and his newfound brothers are now part of that group. Mercy is fae and they believe that Logan and his brotherhood are absolutely wrong in their plan to save everything. Her mission is to stop them at all costs. So kidnapping him and repeatedly trying to kill him... normal.

What happens when both of them realize that they have some valid points? Or when Mercy realizes that her people may not be on the right path? Or when she becomes invested in the cause? Amazing things. Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors series has quickly become one of my favorite things to read. I'm in absolute love with these demons and their constant battle to save everyone. This author has created a world that could easily fit into this one, full of fantastical things and a reality that pretty much defies imagination. Each story is full of heart and the characters are incredibly easy to fall in love with. The world is still in as much danger as it was when this book started, but with Logan now official in his role, the people are that much safer.

"Why did you protect me?"

description

Demon's Mercy is the ninth book in the Dark Protectors Series. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. A paranormal romance with passion, action, and complex characters, Rebecca Zanetti has crafted a magical world with strong alpha males and mystical creatures. Mercy O’Malley, a fey, has been given the assignment to assassinate Logan, a deadly vampire, she decides to turn the tables and try to bridge a gap between her people and the vampires. Logan is quite taken with the crafty fey and it doesn't take them long to connect. Although they are fighting to protect their own people, they form a bond together and discover passion and love. But when the battle between the Feys and the Vampires turns deadly, Logan will do whatever it takes to keep Mercy by his side.

"You’re different, and I think you know it."
Told in multiple POV, Demon's Mercy is a magical read full of numerous twists and turns. Although this is the ninth book in the series, this is my first read of the series and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent in this world. The dynamics between Logan and Mercy are intense and the passion they share is smoking hot. In addition to the unique circumstances between them, the action is non stop and held me captive through every turn of the page.
"I’ve never had anything in this life that was just mine, darlin’." "I’m not yours.” But she could be."
Overall, I highly recommend Demon's Mercy to any Paranormal Romance fan. The Dark Protectors is an action-packed series with strong characters and a complex plot. I look forward to reading more of this series!

I was thrilled when this arc hit my Kindle because … Logan! I’ve said it before, there’s just something special about Zanetti’s alpha males, Neanderthals they may be. Hot, bossy, protective, bossy, brutal when needed, and did I say bossy? And Zanetti totally pulls it off because her heroines kinda need bossing about for their own good at times.

Demon’s Mercy is a fast paced read crammed with action with Logan and Mercy on opposite sides of the struggle to save their world. There’s a lot going on: Logan’s induction to the Seven; Fae, Demons, Vampires, Demon/Vampire hybrids, Witches, Kurjans, Cysts, Dream Walkers along with the original cast of characters; Dimensional world jumping (which is a whole other ball game) to name a few and I found that with all this going on the romance took a back seat a bit. I would’ve loved more Logan and Mercy time to show their connection to each other. Are they mates? Heck yes, but I wanted to see them together more.

They get their hard fought for happy, but the book ends on a series cliffy and I can’t wait to see where Zanetti is going to take the next story in the series.

Mercy O'Malley is a 25 yr. old beautiful, fair, extremely intelligent fairy. Her destiny has already been charted, and she was following her path in life. Her people were known for their knowledge, and she was willing to sacrifice everything for the good of the universe. She was assigned by the Fae to take out a man who they felt was a threat, and needed to be kept under control. She decides to go rogue and kidnap him instead. Her intentions are good, but she has no idea what she's dealing with or getting herself into.

Logan Kyllwood is a demon-vampire hybrid. He's one of the most dangerous creatures in the world known for his incredible strength, fighting skills, and stamina. He's trained to defend and protect, and was loyal to the core. An experienced demon soldier who followed duty. His brother was the head of the demon nation, and he was raised around death and violence. He would soon complete a ritual to become one of The Seven, a group dedicated to protecting this world from evil, but first he had to deal with a pretty, pixie fairy. He was sent to retrieve her, but things don't go quite as smoothly as he planned.

Logan & Mercy clash and come to blows as they each fight for control. It's unclear at first who is the prey, and who is the prisoner. They both have unique gifts that need protected, as well as enhancements and special abilities. Mercy is in over her head. This gorgeous, oversized beast both tempted and overwhelmed her. They were supposed to be enemies, but he fascinated her. She begins to imagine what belonging to him might be like. To live in his world, and be shielded by his power.

Mercy infuriates Logan, but he had this unexplainable need to keep her safe. She was beautiful, intriguing, and had a kind heart. He saw her value, and wanted to explore what was between them. They shared a strange, undeniable connection, and he was starting to feel like she was meant to be his. She threw him off balance, but also was becoming his refuge. How could he ever let her go?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

-He was just so much.

-Why did her body have a mind of its own with him? The guy was just too sexy.

-What would it be like to have the freedom to touch him completely? Head to toe? All of him? The female deep inside her, the one she tried to rule with logic and duty, itched to explore him in every way.

-He was everything she could ever want.

This was my first book by Rebecca Zanetti and I just loved it! It's full of humor, and is a sexy, exciting story about immortals if different dreamworlds and dimensions. This couple has a love/hate relationship filled with passion. It's an enemies to lovers romance where they find love in the most unexpected places, and with all the odds stacked against them. I can't wait to read more from this amazing author!

I absolutely adore this series and this book features Logan so I'm in heaven. Yep that adorable, meddlesome, hunk of trouble is all grown up and about to meet his Mate !
So how does the author make this story different ? Well allow me to introduce the Fae for the first time in this amazing series. Yes not only do we have demons, vampires, shifters and witches but now we learn about the ahem fairies ! Mercy is no ordinary Fae, no she's one of three special keys who are essential if the secretive Seven are to prevent world carnage. Trouble is both Logan and Mercy have very different ideas so settle in and watch the fireworks fly as this couple tempt, tease and thoroughly drive each other insane !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Demon’s Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti

Dark Protectors book #9. Vampire romantic suspense. Best read as part of the series. Overall ARC of approximately 15 books.
Logan and Mercy’s story. Mercy is Fae. The Fae are new to this ongoing storyline. The fate of a nation and all that. The Seven, the Realm, the keys and the lock growing older.
To find out what all this means, you need to start earlier in the series.

Exciting, plenty of action and super hot romance. War elements and Hope.
Smart and tight writing. Alpha male and protector. Strong warrior female.

With Demon’s Mercy, Rebecca Zanetti offers up her 9th Dark Protectors novel, in which you’ll find yourself fanning yourself on the edge of your seat with its fast pace and sexiness.

Logal Kyllwood is young but he has seen his fair share of death and brutality. He’s responsibility towards his family has motivated him to go through a secret, excruciating ritual to become part of the Seven. But before he can become part of this ancient group of hybrids dedicated to protect the world he must first deal with involves the gorgeous female who has been trying to thwart him.

In order for her people to survive, Mercy O’Malley must fulfill her duty and take out the Vampire-Demon. Being an excellent strategist, her plan to appeal to his protective side and then kidnap him should be easy to carry out. But the bossy, arrogant, Neanderthal doesn’t want to go out without a fight and honestly she’s enjoying those way too much for her own good.

If you’re a fan of this series or its spinoff, Realm Enforcers, then I really don’t need to say much other than LOGAN!! SQUEEE!! I have loved this male right from the start and have seen his character grow and become the incredible hero that he is. When I met him, he was fun and adorable and became absolutely sexy and desirable, although I did miss his playful banter with Garret. Oh Garret, I can’t wait to read about you!

But in the meantime, Deamon’s Mercy is chockfull of Zanetti’s staple qualities I love about her books. It goes without saying we get a domineering male and a willful heroine who pushes all his buttons, tight knit family and friend bonds and hooking none stop action. I enjoyed the continuation of the series’ arc which includes Logan’s initiation into the Seven and the continuing battle with the Cysts and Kurjans, but there’s also the story’s particular that involve the Fae nation, various dimensions and trouble with the witches and shifters.

Logan and Mercy go head to head continuously as they’re both trying to save the world from opposite ends. Yet his protectiveness is completely endearing and won Mercy’s heart. I swooned when he continuously made her a priority and loved that they got their happy ending.

Demon’s Mercy is book #9 of the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is a sexy, standalone paranormal romance. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

4 - "No more secrets..." Stars!

Book nine of the Dark Protectors series; Demons Mercy gives us Logan Kyllwood’s story. Falling for your assassin has never been so entertaining.

"Baby… You definitely have my attention."

We are introduced to a new race in this book in that Zanetti has bought the Fae Realm into the mix alongside the Vampire, Demons & Shifters etc. Mercy O’Malley and her kin are determined to stop the full reformation of the Seven, believing that rather than strengthen the prison holding the deadliest of all the Kurjans, it will likely break him free.

So far demon-vampire Hybrids were not her favorite people…

I never struggle to read a book by this author, my usual issues are generally with characterization or the lack of enough plot to fill the length of the page count, and for me there was a little of both in this one, Mercy like some of the authors previous heroines stepped out of the sassy, confident personality profile, and erred into the arrogant and idiotic at times, and I personally found that there was a lot of merry-go-round with the push and pull between her and Logan, so much so that the story building with some of the secondary characters held my interest more than their stuttering relationship.

"I thought we were going to fight…"

"…I’d rather fuck"

As I said no struggle to read at all, I think my rating attests to that, and Logan more than made up for Mercy’s shortfalls. I just found myself looking forward more to the next book; Alpha’s Promise at the end of Demon’s Mercy rather than reflecting on my enjoyment of the story I had just read.

"It’s like you want me to put my hands on you…"

Had a blast reading the latest in Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series. Although I’m dying to read Adare and Grace’s story – love/hate romance is my weakness! – I really liked getting to know Logan and Mercy. I loved seeing Faith and Ronan again and of course, seeing the rest of the guys that make up the Seven. If you want a quick adrenaline fueled read, this will fit the bill, it’s been awesome so far.

This is part of a longer series (9 books so far) but the Seven are kind of a spin off from the original series. Vampire’s Faith (#8) kicks off this new mini spin off and I would recommend reading that one first to meet all the new players as the Seven are first introduced there. Demon's Mercy is the 2nd Seven member storyline and was packed full of action, suspense and a lot of yummy tension that sizzled between the MCs. Logan is my favorite type of hero. He always put Mercy first, was protective, affectionate and 100% there for her without resorting to unnecessary drama. I loved his instant devotion to his mate and his pursuit of her.

Mercy was a smart chick, I liked her steadfast loyalty and ability to see the bigger picture and actually wanting to work together rather than fight apart. She’s stubborn to a fault but with the best of intentions and a bit reckless but it’s hard to fault her when she whole heartedly believed in her cause. At times I did want to shake some sense into her, it was hard to see her be so trusting with the wrong people, especially when it made her push Logan away but she was kind of stuck between a rock and hard place with no easy answers.

I love when an author introduces a new species or people into the story line and RZ did a fantastic job of introducing the Fae. The possibilities and new direction this give the over all story is going to be great. Can’t wait for the next in the series. There’s a lot of possibilities since we still have Adare and Grace, not to mention crazy Benny, Garret, Quade and Ivar left to go!

Memorable Moments:
I really liked Benny in this one. He had really short scenes but he made them count. He has definitely made an impression and can’t wait to see more of him.

(No surprise here) Adare and Grace – neither has warmed up to the other since the last book so it will be interesting to see Adare finally come to grips with having a human as his mate. Grace is showing a bit of spunk so I hope she makes him eat his words and really work for her, lol!

Would I recommend? Having only read Vampire Faith (#8) and Demon’s Mercy (#9) I would definitely recommend. I didn’t feel lost since it’s a whole new cast of characters and they have their own storyline to follow so you’re not dumped into the middle of something that is already ongoing. I will be checking out the other books in the series just because I really like this author’s style and her books are always entertaining :)

Demon's Mercy is Logan and Mercy's story. I'm so used to the fun loving Logan that never leaves Garrett's side. You get to see a whole new side to Logan when his protective instincts towards his mate comes out.

I'm very curious how Logan and Garrett will be in future books. These two are never apart, but now there's Mercy. She does seem to fit right in so maybe it'll be the three musketeers instead. Although, I'm not sure Logan's alphaness will allow Mercy to get into any shenanigans.

Mercy is one of my more favorite heroines of the series. One, because she has the power that makes her capable of handling herself in dangerous situations. I loved seeing her jumping in to fight because of this. When it's a human woman against the supernatural, that's when it doesn't make sense.

I also like that while she started out all buttoned up and analytical, she is just as mischievous as Logan and Garrett. She really does fit with these two. I hope Garrett's mate will be the same. I think it will be fun to see both couples all working together.

I'm looking forward to the next book! I love these big, bossy men!

Demon's Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Suspense
4.5 Stars

Came soooo close to hitting 4.75.
Unfortunately, she chose the 'long winded' way on a few scenes that needed to be said with a lot fewer words.
Long Winded = Boring.
These areas would be much better if she was more succinct in them.

That is really my only complaint on this one!

I loved the mc's.
Logan we have known since he was a child. Mercy O’Malley and her people are new to us.
The 'Fey' have arrived!

Logan & Mercy together was......
Funny.
I can't believe I'm saying that!
But, OMG! The shenanigans that Mercy brought to the table and the way Logan dealt with them/her had my cheeks hurting from grinning.

And.....
Holy Steaming Hot Melt My Panties.... Adult Yummy Sex Scenes!

The suspense and fight scenes were magnificent. I think they showed some of her best writing of this element.
They had great action that I could easily follow.
The scenes were crisp, clean and smooth.

I really enjoyed this one. And I gotta say....
🤔 I Highly recommend to my Adult Paranormal Loving Friends!! 😊😉

Loved this addition to the series! Mercy was so cute and fun, although fiercely independent upon doing what she thought was right. Logan was drawn to her immediately and has a plan, but when that plan turns upside down, he finds his little fairy even more intriguing.

It’s no secret I love a strong alpha hero and this author always does them just the way I like ‘em. Sometimes the heroine in this series can be a bit too hardcore and even annoying, but Mercy was not. Her actions had Logan chasing her from moment to moment with lots of sizzle in between. And when these two finally make a decision to go for it…holy heck did things heat up!

4 "Dimensional" Stars!

I loved this book! This book also frustrated me so badly! It was almost equal parts. I loved it because I love this series. The overall plot was fantastic. Especially this new arch beginning with Vampire's Faith. Logan did not disappoint in the sexy dominant alpha male warrior (and I do mean warrior) category at all. He didn't disappoint at all actually. The action and dimension traveling and new race to contend with were all good!

The frustration came with all the interruptions and repetition that would happen just as important information was about to be revealed. Plus I didn't know if I was completely frustrated with Mercy or on her side when she did questionable things. She wasn't TSTL though, so I think I liked her. However, for spoilery reasons I cannot explain, I think her people, the Fae were delusional. I'll leave it that at that. Also, the romance was plus side of okay.

So! I Can't Wait! for the next book-Alpha's Promise I think it's going to be so very good. Ivar has been through Hell. Literally. And I am so excited to see how he comes out on the other side, and who his lady is and how she can handles his crazy.

I am crossing my fingers Garrett is after that; and seriously hoping Adare and Grace at least get a novella.

If you've ever wanted to try the Dark Protectors series, but think it's too far in to catch up. Jump in at Vampire's Faith book 1 of this new series arch/ spin-off. This one, Demon's Mercy is only book 2. These two are a great place to jump in with The Dark Protectors. Happy reading!

Five stars

for Logan and Mercy. I love a feisty, spunky, and loyal heroine and Mercy was all those things. She honestly reminded me of one of my favorite heroines from the Enforcers spin off. (If you read those you’ll know immediately who I am referring to once you read this.)

Logan has stolen my heart. I’ve always loved the Kyllwood boys and he is no exception. He is all hot alpha and genuine underneath.

The plot had an exceptional balance between action and breathing moments but never to a point where you lose interest. I devoured this book which was no surprise.

I can’t wait to see what’s next for this round of dark protectors.

The Dark Protectors series has been a favorite for a few years now. Last year began the new season in the series introducing The Seven, a new enemy and a new generation of Protectors. I was thrilled with Vampire's Faith and eager to press forward into the long-awaited book for Logan Kyllwood.

Demon's Mercy is the ninth installment of the series and doesn't make for a good place to jump in with its direct connection to the book before it, but in a pinch a new reader could get by.

The Seven and the new enemy Kurjans has been introduced, but now a new race has entered the conflict with their own take on the fate of all things- the fae. Logan discovers this when a certain fae beauty attempts to kidnap him to save his life from her own people who think killing The Seven is the answer to altering a catastrophe they see on the horizon. This starts Logan and Mercy on an action-packed adventure to get his brother back and deal with the fae while discovering what they know so they can share it with the allies. Oh, and dealing with the mischievous and quite capable Mercy who now has her own complications in the form of a huge, muscled vampire-demon making it difficult to hold to loyalty to her fae race and their way of doing things. She enjoys their dust ups and fighting with him, but the attraction can't go anywhere because she's promised, right?

The author's books are always a treat. I enjoy the fantastic action scenes, teasing and sizzling romances, and the good chemistry not just in the romance but the group of 'Protectors' like with Logan and Garrett. Logan was introduced in the earlier part of the series when his older brother got his story and then popped in often enough. I impatiently waited for him and his best bud Garrett to get their stories and now, here we are.

I loved Mercy for Logan. She starts out all starchy and prim and sure of her racial superiority only to face a guy who is not all that impressed and has done his time scrapping and fighting to earn his self-confidence. Mercy is no wilting flower and I love that she has gifts to make her capable of standing beside Logan in the fight with the evil Immortals and stand up to his alpha nature. Meanwhile, little Hope is still visiting in her dreams with someone her whole family would consider the enemy and she knows will help her bring an end to the conflict.

This book read so swiftly. I intended to read a few chapters and ended up devouring it in two sittings. The pace was swift, but steady and easy reading. Hot romance and action will do that. Now, besides Garrett, I totally want Sam's book after what we learned about him. Really loving this new season of the series and glad the author kept writing them. Paranormal Romance fans who enjoy a variety of paranormals including vampires, demons, witches, and now fae should give this book/series a look-see.

My thanks to Lyrical Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series. It is one of my favorite PNR series and Zanetti is one of my favorite authors. Unfortunately this book felt like much of the same to me. I guess I am getting burnt out on the asshole-ish alpha behavior by the males in this series.

Logan Kyllwood is part demon part vampire and he is part of the ruling family in this series. He has been trained by the best and he is a fiercesome solider in his own right and he has been doing his part to protect the realm with his best friend Garrett.
When Logan was sent to protect a "key', his journey led him to Mercy O'Malley, who turns out to be a fae. That is a new species to this series and it introduces another danger to the stability of the realm. They are attracted to each other immediately, another staple of this series, and Mercy shows herself to be the ultimate match for Logan.

I didn't connect with them as a couple even though it happened very quickly. I actually enjoyed the plot and intrigue more than the romance, which is unusual for me. But I was engaged in seeing what the Kurjans were up to since they have been defeated time and time again.
This story was okay, just not one of my favorites.

I am such a fan of Rebecca Zanetti’s Dark Protectors series. And I am just over the moon that she has come back to it. Even more, I love her Kyllwood demons. These brothers have fought so hard for their entire lives to get where they are and ensure the future of their people. Zane was awesome and now we have Logan, who is just a fantastic hero.

He is poised to undergo the ritual to become one of the Seven… guardians of bubble dimensions which hold back basically the most powerful bad guy ever. The heroine, Mercy, is one of three women who serve as “keys.” If these women are brought together, they can kill that bad guy. So, as the story begins, Logan is watching her, waiting for an opportunity to bring her in. He has no idea she is actually bait for a trap to catch him.

Mercy is Fae, a species this series has not ever really focused on. Their numbers are small and they have come up separate from the rest of the realm. They are hell-bent on preventing the seven from fully forming, because they believe it will wreak havoc on the universe. The book follows the back-and-forth between Logan and Mercy as they each try to one up each other in order to do what they think is right. Unfortunately, those ideas are in direct opposition.

I read a few reviews where people don’t like Mercy, and I understand that, because as readers we know her people are wrong and it’s difficult to empathize with choices we know are bad. But, you got a remember, she believes in what she is doing with her whole heart. And it’s not like her ideas are baseless, either. She believes she has science on her side and, really, she does her best to mitigate damage to Logan along the way.

Another thing I love about this series is how well Zanetti builds her secondary characters to enrich the stories. Specifically, I am super excited with Hope’s storyline, though I do it knowledge it is a lot like Janie’s was in the first several books of the series. I don’t care, though, I am fascinated by her Kurjan buddy and I can’t wait to see where Pax fits in. I’m also super intrigued about Sam. He has a big role to play, even though he is not part of the seven. And I definitely want more of him. I even want more of the super cranky Adaire and his human mate.

My only complaint is the spanking. This pops up in several books in the series and I am just not down with a hero spanking the heroine to teach her a lesson. It is such a tremendous turn off and I wish desperately that Zanetti would stop putting it in the books. Thankfully, it is not overly drawn out and it does not dominate the dynamic. It just gets under my skin.

Otherwise, it is a fantastic book. Great plotting, great pacing, great sexual tension. And it’s got awesome world building and fascinating characters. Would definitely recommend this series for paranormal romance fans it is good stuff

Rating: B/B+

Demon's Mercy is a delightful story that takes us down a road of continuation into these Dark Protectors. I have to say at first when I first learned that this author had continued this series when I had thought initially it was over, I was suspicious and wary to say the least but somehow this book really won me over with this world building that she has beautifully crafted here. I have always been such a solid fan of her work and she has done splendidly in penning this continuation and it has me more excited than ever to see what road she takes us down. I have a feeling it will definitely be packed with so many thrills and adventures and I am eager to see it happen.

In Demon's Mercy we have our hero, Logan Kellywood who is drawn into a trap by a magnetic woman and fairie ....Mercy. Mercy is fae and has unique powers and she is sent on a mission to kill Logan, but she has no desire to do so. What she wants first and foremost is to convince him and his brothers not to bond the seven together, she is making an effort to protect her people. But taking down Logan is no easy feat and before long she is drawn into a battle of wills with him ...and this battle will take them across dimensions and lands and unite them in passion and a mating bond. But their road to their HEA is no easy one, and their loyalty and love will be tested in the worst of ways but can Mercy find her balance between her people and the demon she would fight for?

Demon's Mercy is such a brilliant story and it packed quite a punch and it definitely is the type of story one can easily read in one sitting for sure. Of course, going into this story I had such faith in the talent of Rebecca Zanetti and it thrills me to say what a joy it is to immerse one self into the pleasure of reading one of her treasures and "Demon's Mercy" is no different from that. I really was captivated by the tropes that come into play in this story. I am not always a fan of enemies to lovers and kidnapping themes (and let me tell you both parties take part in kidnapping each other) but Zanetti really worked her magic in this one.

It wasn’t a kiss. She didn’t have a word for what it was. His lips took hers with a fierceness that surpassed the storm whipping around them. Deep and hard and pissed, he took her over. Absolutely. There was a rawness to his kiss, a sheer fury, that should’ve frightened her. But the deeper he went, the more she wanted. She kissed him back, trying to follow, finally letting him take what he wanted. And he wanted everything

Demon's Mercy is a story of two people that are mortal enemies, and there is a fight on their hands to stay together. We see how split they are in how they view each other, they know being together is impossible but somehow they keep trying to find a way to work around that. They are both fierce fighters both at each other and also in protecting one another. Even though the heroine isn't "battle ready" she is a fighter and has her own will to fight and defend her man and I love seeing that strength rise within her. The hero has so much on his plate, but he is a defender and protector and boy did this man have me swooning. He is delectable in every way. I am really intrigued to see where the plot thickens here for the series and I can't wait to delve into the next book and see where this author takes us to.

Overall this is a stunning addition to a action packed series that takes us on a ride of passion, thrills, strong building plot and a love worth battling for!

This is going to be a quick one, I’m frustrated with the series, and need a break from cleaning out my vampy folder… I guess 12 is my limit. Logan and Mercy’s story. Logan is Zane’s (Marked) baby brother. He’s been around since that book, and is a demon-vampire hybrid. Mercy is new to the scene, and our first Fae.

I skipped a few to get here, I’m not really interested in the new characters she keeps introducing, and am planning to skip around to the regulars. (Sam’s book -middle brother-is supposed to be released in December) This book continues the Seven, Hope, dimension jail popping, Ulric killing all enhanced females storyline.

I thought it was alright, but didn’t love it. I liked Logan, but he and the realm, were way too forgiving with the Fae. They made terrible decisions, and he should’ve been furious and picking her brain when they threatened Hope... let alone all the other stuff they pulled. I didn’t care much for Mercy, as a “person” she seemed alright, but her dedication to her people (who totally sucked) got annoying. She also was way too loose with the smacking/punching/kicking. The book starts with her trying to kill/kidnap Logan to prevent him from becoming the last Seven member. The rest is a frustrating ride of her (and her people) arrogantly insulting, and thinking their way is best. We do get a smidge of Hope and Drake, but who the hell knows when she’ll get around to that storyline.

Bottom Line- Ok, good not great. Like the Immortals After Dark series, I’m taking a break until there’s some forward movement. (Nix & Hope’s books) Book 6 introduced the Hope/Drake storyline, and now we’re on 14 with no closure in sight.

*I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Um...where the heck have I been? How is this the 9th installment to this series and I’m just NOW reading one from it? I’m a PNR lover and didn’t know about this series. I officially hang my head in shame. (And am now running to gather all of the others to catch up)

Mercy is a Fae with a mission. Although her actual mission is a little different than the one she was tasked with. There has been a disturbance in the force. No, not that one. The deminsions have been compromised and the Fae blame the Seven for it. So, instead of killing a member of the Seven, she’s altered her plans. But.....it’s not exactly going as planned....or not planned....

Logan isn’t a member of the Seven yet, but that’s the plan. The Seven have a specific role within the Realm (I’m new to this series, so I’m not even gonna try to explain it, just read the book). His mission is to find a Key, to save the world from a very evil being. But the Key just happens to be a pretty red headed Fae who just attempted to kidnap him. And man can she put up a good fight.

Like I stated before, I’m new to series and am still wrapping my head around a couple of things, but the bottom line is that this was awesome. The plot, chemistry, and drama were all well done. I absolutely loved that Mercy is a strong woman who wasn’t backing down from what she wanted or needed to do. Logan is everything Alpha. I dare you to NOT fall in love with him.

Although these characters were the focal point, I can’t help but mention a certain character that’s peeked my attention, drawing me closer to this series. I’m not going to spoil anything here, but the niece has won my heart. I know her story isn’t over and I can’t wait to see where it goes!

Logan was just exactly what I thought he'd be. Another awesome action packed story. Loved every moment of it. So much suspense as usual. The romance ♥ is at the right pace and of course so hot 🔥.
Every single book in this series and the Realm Enforcers is just amazing. This author weeves characters in and keeps you feeling like you are visiting with friends each time. Can't wait for Alphas Promise.

Back to the Realm we go, and I freaking LOVE being back in this world! This is book 9 of the Dark Protectors series, the second book in the new story arc which began in Vampire's Faith. So definitely don’t go into this one without at least a little bit of background. This is the long-awaited story of Logan Kyllwood (young brother of Zane), a fast-moving, action-packed story and I loved it.

Logan is a vampire-demon hybrid, and one of the deadliest fighters in the Realm (a collective group of allied supernaturals). In the last book of the series, we saw him and best friend Garrett accepted into a secretive and exclusive group called ‘the seven’ – a group of warriors tasked with protecting the world from a deadly threat. Garrett is already a member, and Logan’s initiation will complete the group, and he is gearing up to undergo the mystical, potentially deadly ceremony.

Mercy is fae – a new species introduced to the series. The fae as a people are not well known to the Realm, often thought of as mythical, and as a race they are facing extinction. The most pressing matter for the fae though is the re-emergence of the seven, which they believe will have devastating consequences for the entire universe. Mercy is just one of the fae tasked with stopping the powerful group, and she takes it upon herself to kidnap Logan to prevent him from becoming one of them and completing their mystical group.

This book is a wild ride of action, excitement and intrigue, and it moves at a terrific pace. From the moment that Logan and Mercy meet there is barely a moment to breathe as they run, fight, chase and argue.

“I won’t let them hurt you, Mercy.”
She drew back, her eyes widening. “You won’t seem to understand.” Leaning forward again, she dropped her voice to a whisper. “We’re enemies, Logan.”

The action is great but it’s all about the romance for me, and OMG there is so much back and forth between these two! They are both driven by their pre-determined destinies, which put them on opposite sides with lots of secrets between them, but they share a mystical bond and a whole lot of lusty attraction, and it’s all swept up into an exciting and intense ride as they figure it all out.

“You’re different, and I think you know it. There’s more to us, and it’s a fucking tragedy that we can’t explore further what we could have.”>

Honestly, it got a bit frustrating at times, and I wanted to smack Mercy for her constant running, which all became a bit repetitive. But romantic, determined, alpha Logan is definitely a treat and all of that intensity creates sizzling chemistry and the sexy time is really freaking hot.

“I’ve never had anything in this life that was just mine, darlin’.”
She tilted her head to the side, her noise lightly brushing his. “I’m not yours.”
But she could be.

This book has a touch of the mystical about it, with lots of talk of dimension-jumping and other worlds adding a lot of interest and will lead to some really great storylines in the rest of the series. And to increase the awesome, we get to touch base with the characters we met in the last book of the series, Logan’s brothers (including Janie and Hope), and the King of the Realm himself in all of his glory.

“I’ll start.” The king placed large hands on the table, his voice pleasant and very peaceful.
Mercy relaxed a little. It was nice to be around a calming influence for once.
The king leaned forward. “What the holy fuck of a fuckup of a disaster have you assholes gotten into?” Dage yelled, his booming voice echoing off every wall.

The story continues to build towards an exciting showdown that will be coming later in the series, and I’m really enjoying the build-up. I love that we get to know more about the seven in this book, and I’m excited for their stories to be told in their own books.

So yeah, a little frustrating perhaps, but still a great read.

4 stars.

Finally, we get Logan's story! Only slightly less excited than I will be to get Garrett's story. But still! If you have read through this series, you have seen Logan grow in to the man he is. With the challenge of the Seven pressing on him, he doesn't have time for a woman. But he might have time for Mercy. He has been following her and thinks things may go his way until she turns the tables and kidnaps him.

I don't think we have met or heard about the Fae much in this author's world. Obviously, the huge cast of characters don't know much about them either. Logan is about to get up close and personal and learn all their secrets if Mercy will allow.

Loved the spicy dialogue with these two. Tough little fairy but Logan held his own. Love, love seeing all the original vamps and demons again. The action is heating up and I anticipate there will be an all out war at some point. I had minor de ja vu with Hope and the dream walking. Reminded me of the story line with her mother. Hopefully we aren't just getting an updated repeat of that story.

Can't wait to see how the story will unfold. Still many hidden roles to come in order to keep the world safe. Looking forward to more!!

Okay, so I was going to say that this novel/novella is the ninth in a series and you have to have read a few of them to be able to distinguish the various characters. But then I looked and actually I have only read one previous book in this series - I have however read several of the spin-off Realm Enforcers series.

If you like your paranormal heroes built like tanks, with super-human powers, a bossy nature and an affinity to motorbikes and guns then this series is for you!

Logan Kyllwood is a vampire-demon hybrid. He is about to perform a mysterious and allegedly highly dangerous ritual to become one of the Seven, a secret group of hybrids sworn to protect the world from an evil imprisoned in a different dimension. He has tracked down a young woman who is one of three mysterious 'Keys' and struck up a conversation with her in a bar. What he doesn't know is that he is the victim of a sting operation. The young woman is actually a fairy (they prefer to be called fae), a species previously thought to be a myth, and she is determined to stop Logan from becoming one of the Seven by kidnapping him.

This has literally everything. Demons, hybrids, fae, oracles, transporting, dimension travel, ancient prophecies, mating rituals, BDSM games, dark rituals, vikings, scotsmen, cute moppets, the list goes on.

I said recently that I think novellas is the way to go with paranormal, short enough to maintain the interest but long enough to encompass plotting, double crosses, fights, mating and important meetings! Honestly this had so many things that I normally loathe about the paranormal, the bossiness, the way the women capitulate and agree that they will obey the men all the time, the way the men ride rough shod over the women, the way they threaten (and often do) to smack their butts. And yet I enjoyed every second of this novella. My only gripe is that the end kind of fizzled out with lots yet to be resolved - not quite a cliff-hanger but most definitely a to-be-continued. Nevertheless, I am eagerly looking forward to the next books.

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

3.5 Stars. I think I will be the dissenting opinion on this book. Not that I didn't enjoy it because I did but I expected more and was a tad disappointed. Logan and Garrett have been my favorite characters for such a long time and the thing I love the most about them was their friendship/brotherhood with each other and the fact that they seem to be a bit different then the other Alpha, order-giving, domineering males in these books. Unfortunately as soon as Logan meets his mate he behaves in exactly the same way as all the other males in this world. Not that I mind it because I have enjoyed these books but I was hoping for something different from Logan. I also really missed the interactions between Logan and Garrett as they were separated through almost all of the book. I'm really just not connecting to the new "brotherhood" that Logan and Garrett have "teamed' up with and the story line with Hope is a complete repeat.
