Major Redevelopment Of Pak N Save Underway

Work has started on a multi-million dollar two-year redevelopment of PAK’nSAVE Invercargill.
Jason Dobson Operations Manager said “The redevelopment is going to bring an even better grocery shopping experience for our Southland customers. Our team plan on keeping any disruptions to a minimum while the store transformation is in progress.”
Roger Davidson, GM Property and Retail Development, Foodstuffs South Island said
“We have just embarked on a comprehensive extension and refurbishment to PAK’nSAVE Invercargill. The floor area of the supermarket will increase by 1600m2 or approximately 38%.
To ensure customers can continue to shop in comfort, the construction will be carried out over a two-year period comprising a number of different stages.
Invercargill was the first PAK’nSAVE to open in the South Island in 1988, and this investment further emphasises our commitment to the wider Southland community.  The store will provide customers with a shopping experience equal to what is available in other regions.
The modernised PAK’nSAVE supermarket will feature new retail fixtures, an expanded grocery range and ongoing top quality fresh foods – all in a pleasant shopping environment.  Naturally, we’ll also offer New Zealand’s lowest prices – every day.”
Other big retailer developments on the go or soon to start include Kmart due to open later this year, the new  ILT hotel, the redevelopment of the City centre block.
