Having been promoted through OpTic Gaming’s players and content channels since 2016, Turtle Wax will now partner with the organization’s CEO and founder Hector Rodriguez, Call of Duty coach Michael “Flamesword” Chaves, and team director and YouTube personality Austin “Pamaj” Pamajewon.
In March 2017, the 70-year old automotive products brand announced that it would be renewing its partnership with OpTic Gaming—commemorating the renewed deal by revealing a custom branded Porsche GT4 at MLG’s CWL Dallas event. According to Turtle Wax, the company saw 25% organic growth across its Twitter and Instagram accounts from the esports organization’s fans across the first year of the partnership.
In addition, Turtle Wax will also branch out to the European esports market by sponsoring Splyce’s Call of Duty and League of Legends teams. The org’s UK CoD players Dylan “Madcat” Daly and Tom “Tommey” Trewren will serve as Turtle Wax ambassadors and will participate in a fan meet-and-greet event at CWL Birmingham.

Speaking to The Esports Observer, Splyce CEO Marty Strenczewilk notes that when Turtle Wax first partnered with OpTic, “they didn’t come in and say ‘here is how we do things at our company.’ Instead they worked with OpTic on some really cool projects that reflected the character of both the OG brand and that of the players.”
Strenczewilk also adds that the Turtle Wax partnership coincides with the opening of his organization’s new production studio, which will open in the next few months.
“This will allow us to engage our fanbase through top-tier content that will follow our players outside of the game, where they travel the cities of Europe and share in their love of cars.”
