Shujaa wrapped up their Sydney7s Day one bottom of Pool B having lost all their matches: 14-24 to Canada, 41-0 to USA and 17-40 to France.

Brian Wandera, Vincent Onyala and Mark Wandeto scored Shujaa’s three tries in the last Pool match against France with Daniel Taabu converting Onyala’s try. France scored six tries, four through Stephen Parez with Paulin Riva and Nisie Huyard dotting down the other two. Riva also added three conversions while his counterpart Thibault Mazzoleni converted two tries.

Olindi’s brilliance in opening up the France defense is what set up Wandera to score Shujaa’s first try. Taabu’s kick and chase was fruitful as he offloaded to Onyala to score the second try in the sixth minute. Wandeto added his name on the list of Sydney7s try scorers as he rounded his defense to land a corner post try as the hooter went, marking the end of the match. Shujaa going down 40-17.

In the #Sydney7s Challenge Trophy Quarterfinals, Shujaa will face Wales who finished third in Pool C, at 3:00am (EAT).
