The Sustainability Scholars Program offers several events throughout the year. These events are intended to provide information about the Program, support students interested in applying to the Program, and to share the incredible work produced by the Scholars.

At this session, representatives from several of our partner organizations spoke about the kinds of opportunities Scholars can have while working in the program. Former scholars also attended and talked about their experiences in the program and the kinds of opportunities the program offers in terms of skills and job prospects.

Resumes, Cover Letters & Best Practices: Refining Your Scholars Application

This workshop may be useful to prospective Sustainability Scholars interested in crafting a strong application to the program.

Danielle Barkley, a career educator at UBC who specializes in supporting Masters and PhD students, will provide strategies and advice for developing a strong resume and cover letter. Karen Taylor, Manager of the Sustainability Scholars Program, will provide her perspective on the application and selection process, as well as common dos and don’ts.

Students who plan to apply to the Sustainability Scholars Program are encouraged to attend.

UBC’s Sustainability Scholars are helping to make real change in the world. Join us to learn more about what our local governments and institutions are doing to future-proof our people, our cities, and our urban spaces. Scholars will present their projects online in concurrent themed panel sessions throughout the afternoon. Panels will be moderated by experts from UBC and Sustainability Scholars Program partners.
