Handicap Committee Update
The Handicap Points System moves into its fifth season at CCL.As many of you know, in 2015 we implemented a Handicap Points System at CCL to help us with monitoring handicaps and to ensure a level playing field for all players in our events. Essentially in this system players earn points when they win or finish near the top of one of our events. If a player earns a certain number of points, their handicap is reduced. Each year the Handicap Committee meets and has made some minor tweaks to the original system. Moving forward into this year the Handicap Committee is happy with how the system is working and will continue with the same process that was used in 2018.
The system works on a 24 month running tally on points and events played. This means that the events from 2017 will start to rotate off the system this year as the events from 2019 come on. We have listed below the events that will be played using the Handicap Points System in 2019. The Handicap Committee will continue to monitor this system throughout the year and will meet periodically to discuss any other handicap related issues that may come up.
Click here for the most up to date Handicap Points System list. This list is also available on the Golf Genius app in the 2019 Men’s Events section. The events that will earn Handicap Points System points in 2019 and will, therefore, use any handicap reductions that are earned are as follows:
Jambalea Senior Club Championship Men’s Quota Men’s Club Championship Leawood Cup Individual Match Play
If you have questions on this system, please see Ryan for further explanation.

| The best for you | | Don’t settle for what you have | | There’s a famous saying from Dr. Bob Rotella: | | | | | Great advice for when you’re on the golf course in competition. But for most golfers, the implication of that is “most longer clubs stay in the bag forever”. Most golfers struggle with consistency when using fairway woods, hybrids, longer irons, and sometimes even mid-irons, so how do you apply this advice? Do most of these clubs remain unused in the bag forever? | | We have some sports psychology for you: | | | | | Get a better experience | | By increasing the length of club that you can hit consistently from the fairway, you change your golf game. Escape from difficult positions becomes easier. Setting up opportunity becomes easier. Both of those lead to a better playing experience. | | Contact us > | | |
