About Summer Backpack Program Packing Day
Many children rely on the free breakfast and lunch provided at school for the majority of their nutrition. So when school is not in session, many of these children go hungry.
The Tupelo/Lee County Hunger Coalition wants to change that this summer.
The Summer Backpack Program will provide a box of food each week for children identified as the most food insecure in the Tupelo and Lee County school districts.
Join the Hunger Coalition at the BancorpSouth Arena on May 31 to help pack these boxes to keep our kids fed all summer long!
We're looking for volunteers who:

- Health and Wellness
- Poverty and Hunger

Pre-Event Box Building

Come early and help us put boxes together.

Help put the food in boxes and ready them for the summer.

This position requires organization, computer skills, and a warm personality. If this is you then we need your help in making sure we have each volunteer registered. This is important because we need to keep an accurate accounting of our volunteers and time. This information will assist us with future programs.
