Love had cut me in so many ways I wondered if my heart could take any more.

But then I saw him.

He was my boss.

A single father.

And to top it off he was insolent.

I didn’t intend to want him, that wasn’t my objective. But somehow I couldn’t say no.

We shouldn’t have worked, but like witchcraft, I was under his spell.

My heart’s been destroyed before, I’m not sure it can handle heartbreak again.

The bartender and the boss!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 💙💚🖤💛
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌏
Character development: 🧐😕😍😗🥰

The heroine: Olympia (a.k.a. Blue) - she works as a bartender at The Crimson Elite. She comes from an extremely wealthy background but wants to be independent. Her father and brother keep bothering her to go back home, but she likes her life and her job.

The Hero(s): Darby - part owner of The Crimson Elite, a super secret sex club for the rich and famous, he had a one-night stand which ended in a baby after the woman poked holes in the condom without telling him.

The Story: Darby becomes a single father and takes a few weeks off work. When he returns he sees a girl with blue hair behind the bar. He tells her she has to change her hair color and she refuses. He is intrigued by her from the get go. When Darby brings his baby to work and Olympia takes the screaming child from him, immediately calming the child as she sings to him, Darby can’t get enough of her voice.

The narration on this book was done by Rock Engle and Summer Roberts. I liked them both but Rock Engle sounded a bit too laid back at times. I am not sure if that was the character or the way he reads, but I didn’t really like it during the intimate scenes. Though Darby is a dark horse and has a temper. He has no problem doing what he needs to do for the club. If that means giving someone a beat down or even murder. He seems to enjoy it as well.

It was actually quite sexy when Darby beats a guy for scaring and touching Olympia. Even more so later when he gets even angrier just thinking about how the guy touched her. Though I didn’t like how angry he got later in the book when Olympia did something by mistake. He says he had to get away from her because he didn’t know what he might say or do. Though it was part of the story and it furthered the plot.

“I see you, Darby.
I see you.”

The last of the enigmatic men of the Crimson Elite and he was worth the wait. He’s the anchor, the fixer and the glue so when he makes a mistake it’s leaves them all shocked. Lured into a pregnancy not everything is as it seems and Darby’s world is forever changed. Coming to terms with his own childhood, his repressed feelings and recognising the triggers for his behaviours Darby wakes up to himself in the course of his story.

Blue is the colour that haunts his dreams as she’s the only person, outside of the Crimson Elite and family, that has dared to tell him no. Challenging him, pushing him and testing the boundaries she entices a visceral response in him that he can’t ignore but often wishes he could. Running from her past and the pain she has buried she finds herself bar tending for the most elusive club to help her friend. Much to the disgust of her brother and father, as she’s a woman of means and doesn’t need the gig and yet she can’t walk away. Can two slightly dark souls find a harmony within each other?

This is one scorching read, they both rub each other up in all the deliciously wrong but right ways causing much amusement to the others. Ruffling Darby is hard to do and yet she manages it without much effort. His life has suddenly become so chaotic and yet he finds her in the eye of the storm and becomes drawn in despite his best intentions. She has a painful past and he has a complicated now but can they figure it out? I honestly felt every emotion as the whys and hows were revealed, their story truly pulled on the heart strings - the letter, his epiphany, the reasons why she’s afraid of the dark all gut wrenching moments in this story so grab your tissues. The heat between them is high, causing my kindle to smoulder! This was a fantastic addition to this series that has been addictive.

A five star I see you read.

Gah! You guys, this was BY FAR my favorite book in the Crimson Elite series! Darby & Olympia's story absolutely blew my mind and put my poor heart through the ringer, but I loved every single word that I read!

Darby's past comes knocking with some news that turns his world upside down. He certainly didn't see this one coming. He doesn't make mistakes. He is always careful. He is the one responsible for the company running smoothly. He is the glue that fixes everything and holds it all together. Now to find out that he was lured into an unexpected pregnancy. This really throws him for a loop, especially when not everything is as it seems.

Then to top it all off, Olympia aka Blue, walks into his life. She is the new bartender Creed hired for their all exclusive club. She is the last thing that Darby wants, but he can't seem to stay away. He is drawn to her when he shouldn't be. He's her boss, and she's his employee. This is a line that he is not supposed to cross. But his desire for her is so all-consuming that he even dreams of her; the beautiful woman with the bright blue hair.

The sexual tension between the two is palpable, the chemistry explosive, and the back and forth banter had me smiling and laughing. Despite trying to fight it, the two of them were the perfect match. I was not a big fan of Darby until I got his story. Now this enigma of a man is easily my most favorite of the bunch. It was impossible not to fall head over heels for these wonderful characters.

Insolent was the perfect ending to a fantastic series. It was wonderfully written with a well developed plot, endearing characters and steamy hot moments that just oozed off the pages. Darby and Olympia's journey will surely tug at your heart strings. I smiled. I laughed. I cried, and I most definitely swooned. This is one story that you won't want to miss. So stop what you are doing, and grab yourself a copy. Take a chance on it, and experience the beauty of it. It will be well worth every single second of it.

⭐️ 4.5 "Explosive Duo" Stars ⭐️
I’ve been smitten with the guys of Crimson Elite since the very first novel of this sexy series. Darby is certainly the most enigmatic and detached of the little group and I was so eager to explore his personality and meet the girl who would win his heart. T.L. Smith once again succeeded in creating a very tempting spicy romance filled with humour and emotions!

"I don't want to lose you, and I lose everything in my life. It's just a matter of time before the game starts, and I win. But it's not really winning when I'm left alone."

Insolent starts with Darby unexpectedly becoming a single dad. This taciturn man discovers for the first time the meaning of true love with his baby son. He’s such a different man, so open and devoted to his little bundle of joy that he made me swoon hard. When he meets Olympia, the new bartender at his exclusive sex club, he’s instantly attracted to her in way that isn’t typical for him. This foreign reaction brings a hostile attitude toward the girl where he acts like a true jerk in hope that she’ll quit.

Olympia certainly enjoys playing with her new rude boss’s erratic moods. She shows an insolence that is so enthralling and diverting. I found myself cheering for this woman to put Darby in his place or make him crack under the temptation. Though she’s brave in front of him, Olympia has demons she’s trying to fight through. These ones bring really touching moments to this overall witty and steamy fast paced read. All the hot and cold interactions between Olympia and Darby ultimately only lead to some intensely hot passionate scenes.

The guys making fun of Darby with his evident draw to Olympia was entertaining. This group of friends is so interesting with their different natures, but they’re always there for each other.

"People fall in love in an instant. But we weren't an instant, it's something that has built up over time. It was fast when it happened, but it was worth it."

With Insolent, T.L. Smith concluded in an incredible way the Crimson Elite Series. Darby’s story exceeded my expectations! If you haven’t started this series yet, you absolutely need to meet these sinfully hot men and their ladies!

well a bit of warning about the miscarriage storyline would have been nice since it can be a trigger for some of us.

Would have been a 4star read without the « baby mama whose pregnancy would likely kill her but who tricked the H into getting her pregnant by poking holes in the condom and then died» story. That was unnecessary drama, the book did not need that imo.

With Insolent T.L. Smith delivers a solid and spicy conclusion to the Crimson Elite series. Darby held on to all his promises and Olympia his perfect match. I really do love Darby, I do love Olympia and I certainly do love them together.
Reading Insolent was great fun and very entertaining. However, I missed the thrill a little, I thought the story overall will catch me more.

The forth book in the Crimson Elite series Insolent was a great conclusion to the series and a perfect tale for Darby.
This story brings an unexpected change to Darby life, who’d have thought that a one night stand would bring such joy and he gladly grabs it with both hands, Darby showed a side to himself no one knew existed. He meets Olympia, a bartender in his bar, who likes to mess with his mind and other parts. Their journey is far more complicated. She’s an enigma, but Darby is determined to discover her secrets. This was an emotional trip, a wholesome tale with the occasional smouldering love action.
A definite must read. I highly recommend this book!

This is book 4 in this standalone series of gorgeous men with strong beautiful ladies! I listened to the series on Audible but I skipped one book by mistake. It’s a fast paced storyline.
Darby is one of the owners of Crimson Elite a private and exclusive club. Olympia is one of the bartenders and she has blue hair, I realized it symbolizes a traumatic event in her life.
Her and Darby have a strong sexual attraction. He doesn’t get involved with the work but their attraction is too strong to resist. This storyline is filled with twists and turns and secrets that eventually they share with each other.
I loved this book and I would definitely recommend this series I just wish it was longer!

The Dream You Never Dreamt
4.5Stars The perfect ending to this series! Darby and Olympia were fire and ice! This story was emotional, sexy and will tug at the heartstrings.

Darby was elusive. The guy who kept everything running smoothly but lived a solitary life. His life has been turned upside down in more ways than one. He didn’t want her. He just wanted her to go away, yet he couldn’t keep his distance. He couldn’t stop wanting her. He’s her boss, she’s his employee. He’s not supposed to cross that line.

Olympia is doing her own thing. She just wants to let go of the past, be free and move on. She’s sexy, sassy and bows down for no man. Now bartending at the elusive club, Darby gives her hell and she gives it right back tenfold.

The man has met his match. So much sexual tension, EXPLOSIVE chemistry and feelings neither one of them wants, makes for a story you won’t be able to put down. I was not a fan of Darby until now. I love catching up with all the guys and their women. Such wonderfully complex characters. A great series that I really enjoyed and you don’t want to miss!

Oh, my Insolent is the best of the Crimson Elite and the most heartbreaking of the books. I did see Darby as a single parent because he is the most closed off of the guys and way is guarded given little away. He and Olympia are made to each other once each let the past go with all the hurt. There is so much hurt and heartbreak that I cried for them both, but it was like he was sent an angel to get him through. They did know it but they needed each other. I loved this book.

It was just pure perfection from start to finish. Not only this book but the entire Crimson Elite men. I’ve loved them all and sad to see them go but the ride was worth it! Thank you, TL Smith!!!

Another amazing read in this series! Finally we get Darby's story, and it does not disappoint. Olympia is such a perfect match for Darby, she is strong willed, says what's on her mind, funny and doesn't care about what others think. But both of them have some insecurities they need to overcome if they want a relationship to last. Darby the strong silent planner of all finally realizes there is more to life than work.

4.5 with 5 STARS OVERALL FOR THIS BRILLIANT SERIES BY T.L SMITH

𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑.
𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐄. DARBY'S STORY IS A MUST READ.

This series isn't what I expected at all, as soon as I learned the 4 guys owned an Elite sex club I had thoughts of BDSM and maybe similar story lines to some books I may have read before BUT that wasn't the case at all. Although the Crimson Elite own a sex club all the focus is on each character, their backstory and the women who come into their lives with only parts of what is going on with the business, each of the Elite has their own love story to tell, some darker than others.
4 Dark secretive men who each find their own love story. Darby is the last one to fall and I loved his story.

Darby was always the workaholic, the dark brooding alpha moody male and the guys tolerated his moods that's who Darby is and these 4 guys are like brothers, they are brothers just not related.
You get hints that something is happening with Darby in the previous book and that really left me curious, I just didn't expect it to be as moving a story as it was.

Darby discovers he has been tricked, conned into getting someone pregnant, at first he thinks she is after his money but there is so much more to this story and it's heartbreaking.
Darby unexpectedly becomes a single dad while also trying to balance running a business, but he copes and absolutely adores and is very protective over his son.

Olympia, what can I say about Olympia, she's new on the scene when she steps in as a temporary bar manager at the club, she has backbone, she's sassy and can take everything Darby throws at her and she even throws her own verbal punches back.
Olympia has her own sad backstory and as the plot develops later you see the whole picture and find out who Olympia really is, which is a woman who doesn't need to work but works to keep herself busy and around people, a woman afraid of the dark and a woman who has wrestled with grief for two years.
Darby instantly dislikes Olympia instantly with her blue hair and sassy mouth but also there is immediate chemistry between them which begins to sizzle especially when Olympia gives as good as she gets with her bossy and rude boss and then it goes to boiling.
Darby starts to wrestle with himself, he can't resist Olympia but there is a lot of push and pull before Darby finally gives and the fireworks go off when these two finally get down to business and it's hot!.

What a heartwarming, heartbreaking and hot romance, INSOLENT was so many things and everything I love in a contemporary read. Insolent isn't a dark read or a read filled with suspense this is a love story about two people who finally find what they need at the right time and that's each other.

I loved this series and each book was different to the one before, I loved it more and more as it progressed and I couldn't wait to get to the last book but also didn't want it to end.
One negative would be that I felt something missing, I felt it needed something that pulled all the four books together, a longer epilogue or something, all the guys years on down the line, I had question if the Elite club progressed or continued? or questioning that now the guys are all finally with the women they love and there are children on the scene did they move onto something else?, I'm not sure what that final something should be but I just felt that final piece was missing.

Darby's book could be read as a standalone, the other guys are in some of the scenes but you don't really need to know their story's to understand anything in Darby and Olympia's story but I would recommend reading this series from the beginning.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea.

A masterpiece!
This book broke my heart, her backstory about her daughter and the letters Cleo wrote the tears wouldn’t stop dropping. Cleo had lived a hard life it was evident by her words and actions and sacrificing her life to bring her son it to the world was the saddest but the bravest thing anyone could have done. When I stared this book we got an different kind of impression of Cleo, like all she was after was money but during the books journey we got to know her more.

Olympia and Derby they found in each other something that they hadn’t felt before in a moment in there life’s when the both needed someone. There story was hard at times but when the finally opened them self up to one another there romance was everything.
The ending was perfect especially getting to see a glimpse of the wedding and finding out about the twins. Glorious!

Insolent is the conclusion to the Crimson Elite series and guys... what a series!

Crimson Elite follows Creed, Echo, Darby and Falcon as they work together running their club Crimson Elite whilst navigating the test of falling in love with the women who bring them to their knees!

Now if any of you read my review for Anguished, you’ll know that Echo is my man... but oh man Darby!! Another one added to my ever growing book boyfriend list.

Darby and Olympia were the perfect couple, the back and forth between them keeping me hooked!

Lots of drama, banter and sexual tension!

This series was amazing and you should read it right now!

Disclaimer: This review MAY contain spoilers. I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions expressed in my review are my own.

This was such a fun read! I was very impressed with the author's voice. The way that she was able to fill this story with so many emotions was delightful!

I found the plot of this story very compelling. I sat down and read this in a single sitting because I just had to know what was going to happen. I needed to connect all the dots in this story before my brain could move on to something else. I liked the flow of the story. I liked the foreshadowing embedded in the story. I enjoyed the overall themes of confronting and conquering personal demons as well as opening yourself and your heart up to love in all forms.

I loved getting to know these characters. I think that my favorite thing was the dynamic between the Crimson Elite guys. Their friendship is deep and they are more like family than business partners. The chemistry that they had was riveting. I seriously adored the scenes where those four men were together talking shit with one another. I kind of had a love and hate relationship with the two main characters. There were some things about each of them that I both liked and disliked, but in all honesty, I think that made them feel more real. I understood Darby's motives and his state of mind, but I didn't overly connect with his character. Sometimes I thought that he was a little too closed off and a little too much of an asshole without any real reasoning for it. I felt that Olympia's character was a little more fleshed out. I definitely connected with her more because of her great backstory.

The romance was hot, it was. There was sexual tension and I honestly liked that Olympia wasn't shy about her feelings for Darby. She wanted him and she wasn't going to beat around the bush about it. Darby was a little more cautious and reserved with his feelings for Olympia, but that just made the tension sizzle.

Overall, this was a quick, satisfying read that kept my attention and left me wanting more. I enjoyed the epilogue and the way that the story played out. I will definitely be checking out the other books in this series. I loved getting to know the other men at Crimson Elite and I can't wait to read their stories!

This fourth book in the Crimson Elite series is one I have been anticipating with very high expectations, yes that might sound crazy and unrealistic but then again I wasn’t disappointed!

Darby Knox is the extreme ultra alpha male but hey I really like him..not all of his mannerisms or decisions but he is so loveable. Olympia Cavanagh is a sassy young woman, who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and who has a thing for matching drapes with the carpet. 😉 Together they are a sensational couple.

There are many emotional highs and lows in this story, as we’ve come to expect from this author, however one that stands out is the letter Chloe wrote to Darby. This piece of writing is so simple yet so intense at the same time, just brilliant. Raw passion, heartfelt love, deep fear, seething anger, incredible sadness and indescribable joy are just some of the emotions you experience along with the characters in this book.

Insolent is a fast paced story and very easy to read because it’s storyline is one that is solid and entertaining the whole way from start to finish and I literally couldn’t put it down. I will admit the ending is perfect but totally slayed me..in a good way of course.

I totally recommend this must read series!

Holy smokes. Hands down my favorite book by this author. I knew Darby was going to pack a punch, but...wow. I loved this book so much! I feel like I have been waiting on this book. I am sure the authors intention was to ratchet up the want, and the tension, knowing Darby was going to smoke the rest of them. I just can't get over this book. Olympia was the perfect match for Darby in every way.
Where Darby stepped back, she stepped forward. There was a lot of give and take with the two. Both had their separate issues they they had to work through, and like any good romance there was tension...so much tension. The world that the author has built with this series, makes you feel as if you are a part of it, it's so real. This story is told in dual pov, and is for sure a must read. You do not have to read the others to enjoy this story.

This couples story was heartbreaking emotional and breathtaking all at once. Darby and Olympia's journey will stay with you as it did for me, long after you finish. It has taken awhile to be able to find the words to express the complexity of emotions that leave you after read from was seems like deceit to betray to loss lust and passion and love and strength of their family bond.

Olympia has her own nightmares that she can't seem to be able to outrun, while running into a constant battle with Darby as the new bartender at Crimson Elite.

While Darby's life take on a complete change. A man you has always had control and a little bit of a a**hole finds himself lost in the new direction of his life. When a dark haired woman appears for Darby. To say too much more would be cruel. It's dark a little twisted and a lot of emotional turns as the secrets are revealed.

They all had the own jobs and responsibilities to ensure the exclusively of the club. Darby who holds the most shares and is the enforcer. Falcon retains the clientele, Creed employ the women and runs the staff, and Echo runs security and all the IT and silently tries to keep them all on track behind the scenes.

This is a well deserved 5star read the characters are complex and captivating, and I can not recommend this book and series it highly enough.

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I can't believe this series is over, I love each everyone of these boys. I pretty upset with Darby In falcon book but I love him all the same. He's been put the through the ringer but he also handled it like the pro he is. I also love Olympia she gave as good as got if not have more lol. I love her sass. Her personality is bc what makes me want to know her. She's also been put through the ringer. Again I'm sad to see this series end but I'm excited for what's next.

This book! Where to begin to explain all that is Darby, I mean we have read the other alphas in this series but none have a inch on this strong pig-headed man. How do you explain a man who starts off with no heart at all. But you know inside he possesses a heart that beats big and hard.

This story isn't at all how I thought it would be. How I expected it to be, would have been so much easier to read. This book is hard read really from cover to cover. In saying that Darby meets his match in a blue haired beauty called Olympia. There are other characters that play huge parts in this story, some are life changing for both characters.

Olympia is a smart mouthed strong willed woman that is certainly no push over and takes no nonsense from anyone, especially not Darby. This book is a beautiful love story when you get down to the bones of it. Even if it's does have the dark spin that you always get with this authors words.

This book is a huge recommend from me and the series is a must read in my book.

I’ve been waiting for Darby’s book like forever!
This story is more heartbreaking than any other in the series but same great love, lust, and everything in between.Darby deserves his happiness with Blue and they are just perfect together.
I can’t even say what I loved more in this book because it has everything, from the same great writing , great flawed characters even they might seem entitled because of their upbringing, the lust and love and heartbreak that you expect in a beautiful story, has taking my breath away with each page turned till the perfect end. I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve cried at times.
Perfect heartbreak, lust and love as usual from the author’s stories.
