During a halftime segment on their TNT show, the hosts of the NBA show, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, Jr., Shaquille O’Neal, and Charles Barkley, were discussing some of their past predictions that had no chance of happening.  As Johnson Jr. got up to post a ridiculous message to the wall, he asked what was the most ridiculous prediction on the wall, that has no chance of happening? That’s when Barkley started laughing and said “two black guys beating a black guy up,” a reference to the Jussie Smollett fake hate crime.

Shaquille O’Neal can be heard laughing uncontrollably in the background, asking, “What kind of hats were they wearing Chuck?” Barkley, still laughing, responded, “MAGA, MAGA hats.” Shaq continued to laugh, while Johnson walked back over to the table, saying, “I can’t believe you, Chuck.” The hosts, who seemed like they were egging him on, as Shaq asked, “Did they pay with cash, Chuck?” Charles couldn’t resist, saying, “America, let me just tell you something. Do not commit crimes with checks. If you’re gonna break the law, do not write a check.”

Barkley then moved to the two brothers who were hired by the Empire actor to commit the fake hate crime against him. Barkley mocked the ignorance and simplicity of their plot, saying, “You think they put that on the receipt—face mask, rope, bleach?” Shaq responded, laughing, “At the same store!”

Barkley wasn’t finished yet. After TNT showed a photo of Jussie Smollett, Barkley, who couldn’t stop laughing,  gave Smollett a suggestion about how he could save a lot of time and money. Barkley looked into the camera and gave Smollett some hilarious advice: “Jussie…you wasted all that damn time and money! You know what you shoulda did? Just went out into Liam Neeson’s neighborhood, you could’ve solved all your damn problems!”
