Friends Of Allegheny Wilderness: Weigh In On Future Plans For Washington Park , Warren County

The
Friends of Allegheny Wilderness are asking the public to weigh in on plans for developing Washington Park by the City of Warren Parks and Recreation Commission.

Washington Park’s 65 acres features an upland forest with an outstanding view up and down the Allegheny River. The 11-acre Point Park is located on the floodplain at the confluence of the Conewango Creek and the Allegheny River

These two public areas in the community of Warren provide a good overview of the natural history of one of the major natural “crossroads” of the region.

FAW and residents are concerned the basic nature of the Park will be changed from a nature reserve to include Mountain bike trails and other more recreational activities not consistent with its current character.
