Make Me Yours

Rate this book
He’s my brother’s best friend.

The hot single dad next door.

And one accidental sext later, my massive crush on him is no longer a secret.

It’s my own damn fault. I’m thirty years old, for heaven’s sake. I’m a kindergarten teacher and a (reasonably) responsible adult. I should know better than to get tipsy and draft a fake text listing all the dirty things I wish Officer Cole Mitchell would do to me.

I wasn’t supposed to hit send.

He wasn’t supposed to see it.

And he definitely wasn’t supposed to text back telling me to go on . . .

Because after that, things escalate quickly.

Cole is everything I’ve ever wanted. He’s sexy and protective. A devoted father to his little girl. A dedicated cop the whole town adores. The kind of guy you can trust to keep his hands to himself, even when you’re desperately hoping he won’t.

I’m not the girl he thought he’d end up with, but after all this time, I might finally get the chance to say the words I’ve always dreamed of . . . make me yours.

"Just wasn't feeling it".....I really struggled with the main characters...heroine came across as slightly pathetic with all her "unrequited love" and pining for the hero (a single dad) she has known for years .......Sorry but I actually didn't feel very much respect or sympathy for the hero either ..... he is so obviously lusting after the heroine but for some reason he remains strongly committed to the idea of staying single (his wife died in childbirth approximately 8 years ago)...so he attempts to fight off his attraction for her but there was something about his behavior that just didn't sit well with me.... he now seems okay with the idea of sleeping with the heroine as long as she understands that there cannot be any future for them.. because of his daughter.....r u kidding me!!!!!!
This whole scene was going down while they are at the wedding of a guy who is not only her brother but also the hero's best friend.....so I just up and decided to quit.

I really hated to do it..... and I am beyond surprised that I am giving up on a Melanie Harlow novel as I totally love this author!!!!.....I don't think that I have previously read anything by Ms. Harlow that I haven't either : (a) loved to death!!!! or (b) at least really....really enjoyed!!!
Point of fact.... I just finished the first book in this series probably a week ago and was totally charmed by it....it was such a wonderful, feel-good type of read.
Oh well.....you can't love all of them....I guess!!!!

Cheyenne Dempsey lives in the small town of Bellamy Creek in Michigan where she's a kindergarten teacher at the local elementary school. She's thirty years old and still hasn't found the one for her. She wondered if it was because her heart belonged to the boy next door. She'd been crushing on her brother's best friend Cole since they were kids, but had long ago accepted he'd never be hers. She'd wanted Cole Mitchell for as long as she could remember but it always remained her little secret. When her feelings are suddenly revealed will she finally get what she's been waiting her entire life for?

Cole Mitchell is a well loved police officer in Bellamy Creek. He's a single dad who hasn't dated seriously in over nine years. His focus is on being a good dad to his daughter Mariah. He's a stand up guy who always tries to do the right thing, but lately he's feeling lonely. He's the quietest of his friend group, and they all like to tease him he's like a monk. They think it's time to put himself back out there, and date, but he accepted long ago life doesn't always go as planned. That includes the unexpected chemistry with a woman he'd known for over half his life. Cheyenne Dempsey was his best friend Griffin's little sister. She was off limits, but over the years their relationship evolved. She stirred something in him he hadn't felt in a long time. They'd always had a close friendship, but his thoughts were increasingly turning inappropriate when he thought of the beautiful woman next door. Will he finally give into temptation and take a chance on love?

-She had a way of looking at you that made you feel like you were the only person in the room.

-Cheyenne had the kind of body you could spend hours exploring- you could get lost and never want to be found.

-I'd never wanted anyone so badly.

Did I enjoy this one more than book 1? Yes!

Cheyenne has been in love with her brother’s best friend for over 15 years. It all started out as a crush when she was 13 and he was 16 but it never went anywhere because A) Their ages (kind of) B) Cole was dating his high school girlfriend who later became his wife and mother of his child.

Cole, however, lost his wife during childbirth 9 years ago. He has moved on emotionally from Trisha and has slept with only 2 women since then (last one being years ago) but he has his daughter to think about and consider when it comes to moving on and finding someone new. He knows how vulnerable the situation is and wants to do things right, but he ends up messing things up when he internally freaks out and faces his fears.

Cheyenne is loved by his daughter (Mariah) and they see each other almost every day (they are neighbors). It was obvious that that Mariah would not be the true issue within their relationship, she was super happy to hear that they were dating and was totally fine with it but in reality, it was Cole who was having panic attacks and anxiety about it. He was afraid that good things would never last (considering his wife died on the happiest day of his life - who can blame him?) BUT he has been avoiding dealing with his problems for too long and it ruins his chance with Cheyenne.

I was super proud of Cheyenne for walking away when she did, she needed to put herself first and have Cole deal with his issues and figure out how to process them. Thankfully he did and got professional help.

They were separated for over a month or so? (I forgot) but neither were looking for others, Cole was focused on fixing it and getting her back.

I liked how Trisha was not the elephant in the room, he loved her and wanted a life with her, but her death and loss was something he accepted overall and emotionally was able to move on. He wore his wedding ring on his finger because his daughter (years ago) wanted him to, and he kept Trisha's picture in his room out of habit but never really looked at it.

I didn't feel like Cheyenne was a second choice, I feel like she was his second CHANCE at love. I do believe him when he says he never felt this way about anyone and truly loves her. He had wanted for a long while before they ever expressed their interest and honestly Chapter 6 was super-hot and everything I wanted!

* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
Houston, We Have a Love Problem Here. Why is it Brother's Best Friends are off-limits to the sisters and the sisters are off-limits to the best friends? If they are best friends, aren't the guys' good guys...they are friends after all...

This is one of the tropes of this book.
The other driving force is the fear of when things are too good...because at any time the good can be taken away from you.

We have a wonderful guy, Cole, who has been Cheyenne's brother's best pal forever. Cheyenne has been in love with him for the same amount of time. What has hurt Cheyenne was the fact that Cole would be nice and all but never gave her the time of day, romance-wise. Little did she know, her brother made sure none of his friends would attempt to date her, causing her to pine for a guy and thinking he didn't think she was good enough.

Cole did find love, married, and was thrilled he and his wife were having a baby. Everything was perfect until it wasn't. His wife died in childbirth leaving him to raise his little girl on his own, heartbroken. He did get it together with the assistance of his mother. The daughter is adorable and very smart.

So here we have these two grown people who are meant to be together and each needs to figure it out. Cheyenne is not a hit it and then on to the next woman, and Cole wants her but knows with her it could be the real deal. His hang-up is loving but being afraid of it.

Melanie Harlow wrapped all of these issues with her sweet way of making the characters likable so that you want them to have their happy ending. The next couple in this series should have sparks flying.

“God, I swore to myself I was going to take my time with you,” he whispered, moving inside me hard and deep. “And now we’re here and I can’t slow down.”

this would've been perfect if not for the third act break up scene. i mean i understand that he was a scaredy cat and idk what but they could've just talked about it. there was no reason for breaking up and making it dramatic even everyone around them were confused.

i actually loved the chemistry these two had before they fucked. i kept getting butterflies and ugh it was just way too fucking cute. obviously it died down after they got together, ngl they were all sunshine and giggles but i wanted the same fire they had in the first act ugh. still love the book tho.

i don't even know why i'm binging melanie harlow's books but at least i'm reading LMAOO.

Melanie Harlow’s Make Me Yours is a slow burn friends to lovers read. Cheyenne still yearns for her high school crush, but her feelings remained a secret from her past, until one uncensored moment changed everything. Cole, a widow scared by the unexpected death of his late wife fears loving again, however, Cheyenne has reignited feelings he thought were lost. As love blossoms, pain from the past threatens everything they desire. Heart warming read.

Make me Yours is the story of Cole and Chyanne. I was hoping of childhood crush combining with forbidden romance since Cole is Chyanne' brother BFF.
Instead Miss Harlow took the story to much different level. She highlighting an emotional baggage after Cole lose someone so dear to him.

I usually not a big fan of single parent romance. However I understand that Moss Harlow needs to set the background for Cole. So I can understand where all the grief coming from. Where all the worries and fear coming from him.

In short, the plot took an unexpected twist. Overall, I like it very much.

Another cute love story in this small town series. Cole Mitchells had to deal with the grief of loosing his wife and raise his daughter as a single dad. He is feeling the loneliness but refuses to accept that everyone around him knows better how he should run his life. His daughter Mariah is the most important and top priority in his life, so when next door beautiful Cheyenne pops over , he feel something he hasn t in a long time: lust and longing for a partner. Cheyenne is Griff's ( from book 1) sister, all of them have known eachother since kids, Chey has loved Cole since forever but never thought he would see her more than a friend.

There are some heavy moments, Cole dealing with his demons and fears, Cheyenne comes at times a bit desperate in my opinion, but nothing that bothered me majorly.
Overall I loved them as a couple, although I wanted to shake Cole a bit.

Single dad and best-friend's sister two things that usually make a book a win for me, sadly despite enjoying this author's work in the past I struggled with this read. I found it difficult to connect with the MCs and wasn't keen on how adamant Cole was on keeping things casual. Cole's actions/behaviour just didn't work for me.

Melanie Harlow always does an amazing job writing all the swoons.  The second story in the Bellamy series was absolutely delicious and full of all sizzle and feels we are used to. Cheyenne and Cole were fantastic. Their story was sexy, sweet and emotional!

Gah! If you are looking for a second chance romance that brings all the heart flutters and sighs, Make Me Yours definitely hits the spot. This friends to lovers/best friend's younger sister story was a fun addition to this series. I loved seeing Cole and Cheyenne's relationship progress and heat up to incendiary levels! This story also had all the single father feels I could not get enough of! Now I can't wait for Enzo's book! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Oh man, how many times have you sent a text in error and wished you could “unsend” as easily as you sent it!

That’s just what happened with Cheyenne and her accidental sext sent to her sexy next-door neighbor. Just short of saying Make Me Yours was all it took to launch Cheyenne and Cole’s relationship into the stratosphere.

I loved their instant connection, the spark and their full-on lust/love relationship. It was smart, sexy, sweet, and so very satisfying. Even when it looked like things weren’t quite going to be as happily ever after as I thought.

This Bellamy Creek series is so fun and has such amazing characters. I cannot wait for Enzo’s story next! ~ Missy, 4 stars

An emotionally-charged small town romance about finding your second chance at a Happily Ever After with the girl next door. Bellamy Creek is the sweetest small town and all it's residents are like family. You can't help but fall in love with this small town.

Cheyenne has loved Cole for as long as she can remember. They grew up together because he was her brother's best friend and they were neighbors. She's back home living with her mother, in her childhood home, trying to get out of debt and secure her future. Now the boy who lived across the street is all grown up. He's a sexy single cop and the dad to a sweet nine year old girl. He's the only guy who she has ever wanted but never thought she could have.

Cole has been on his own raising his daughter for almost a decade. When his wife unexpectedly died, he devoted all his time and energy to raising their little girl. He has never pictured a different future other than being alone, until he starts seeing Cheyenne in a whole new light. The girl next door has become every fantasy he ever imagined.

This is their story of finding love. Cole will need to conquer the ghosts from his past to hold on to the woman that stole his heart. Cheyenne is completely devoted to Cole, but she's not willing to settle for pieces. She wants it all. Their love is steamy and their connection is strong. The only thing holding them back from being happy is letting go of the fear that bad things happen and embracing all the good life has to offer. Bad things do happen which is why we have to hold on to all the precious moments we can.

Another great story from Bellamy Creek and a wedding we've been waiting to witness. I love this town and my favorite folks who live there. I am looking forward to Enzo and Beckett's stories and catching up with Griffin, Blair, Cole and Cheyenne as they live their HEA's.

Cheyenne has been in love with the boy next door since she was 11 years old. She has watched Cole grow up, fall in love, get married, become a father and then a widow. She has been witness to the way he has raised his beautiful daughter Mariah and she loves how dedicated he is to his family and in his career as a policeman. She knows a lot about him because he is also her brother's best friend.

It’s been nine years since Cole lost his wife and his sole focus has been on taking care of his daughter and his job in the police force. Living with his mother was necessary after Trisha died, she provided the love and support he needed to navigate his way through the new path his life had taken. Cole is ready to start looking for a house to buy so he can give Mariah the home and family dog she has always wanted. It’s time to move forward.

Cheyenne loves all of the interactions she has with Cole. She teaches at the school Mariah goes to and often helps out where she can. Mariah is a frequent visitor to Cheyenne’s house and they have formed a really special bond. The fact that Cheyenne is desperately in love with Cole seems to have gone completely unnoticed by him but it only takes one night and a drunken string of texts for him to really take notice of her.

Cheyenne feels like she is living in an alternate reality. For so long she has been crushing on Cole Mitchell and finally he is reciprocating what she has for so long. It feels amazing and too good to be true. She is wrapped up in a love bubble with him and desperately hoping that no one pops it.

‘I feel a lot of things. I feel like I want to hold you all night. I feel like all the oxygen goes out of the room when you enter it. I feel like I’m the only guy in the world when you look at me. I feel like there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to make you smile.’

Cole feels completely conflicted about how he feels about Cheyenne. He is worried about how Griffin, her brother, would react to anything happening between his sister and Cole. He is worried about how Mariah would feel about him being with someone other than her mother. He is worried about how quickly he is falling for her and if he is ready to feel this way about someone else. Is he really ready for all of these changes in his life? Can he give Cheyenne the happy ever after she deserves?

I loved this second story in the Bellamy Creek series. After meeting all of these characters in Drive Me Wild I couldn’t wait to see what Melanie had in store for them. It was also wonderful to get more from Griffin and Blair and I’m looking forward to what I’m hoping will be a Moretti and Bianca story next?!

Okay I am going to start this review with a HOLY FN HOT ASS MOMENT. SO a text that wasn't supposed to be sent, gets sent, and without spoiling anything...I will say ROAD MAINTENANCE AHEAD, had to fan off the girl parts because HOTNESS happened. Melanie Harlow slayed that scene had me clearing my throat and dragging the hubs down the hallway to take care of bizness. TMI? Probably but HOLY HELL it was perfectly played out. Then she goes and adds the angst, the push and pull of a good guy thinking he isn't good enough, the next door neighbor, best friends little sister that has loved him FOREVER and BAM. Perfection. I loved this one. It was not an easy won love story. Anxiousness, guilt and all the feelings overshadow happiness at times and the struggle just makes you love them more. As always Melanie Harlow delivers a fan-fucking-tastic journey that I enjoyed from page one to the epilogue. xo

Cute. Sorta angsty.

This one is good. A long time unrequited love, brother’s best friend, and a single dad romance. Love when I’m served multiple tropes. I think this one is pretty good. I like how is covers anxiety after a loss. All that said, I do feel like this one had a little more parts that dragged. The first book was a good pace and this one felt long. It was still a good read, just a little slow in my opinion.

Genre Contemporary Romance | Brothers Best Friend

Melanie Harlow has a knack for writing incredibly sweet and charming romances. I fell in love with her worlds when I was first introduced to her writing in the Cloverleigh Farms series and have continued to fall into this one. There’s just something so endearing about the small towns she writes and the characters within them.

Make Me Yours is the second book in the Bellamy Creek series. This book can technically stand alone; however, I personally recommend reading the series in order because characters from the previous book do make appearances and play a role in this one. For example, Cheyanne (the heroine) is the sister of Griffin whose love story was featured in the first book of the series, Drive Me Wild. While he isn’t around during the whole book it would spoil his relationship status for those who like to be surprised when reading hence the reason, I personally recommend reading them in order. Either way though, it is up to you!

Make Me Yours is a small town, brothers best friend, single dad romance. There are moments of complete hilarity (I laughed quite a few times) and times of deep emotion. Our hero is a man who hides his feelings underneath all his gruff, but he’s dealing with deep issues that have the potential to hurt any future relationships. I loved him dearly but sometimes I just wanted him to open his eyes! As readers, we get invested in these characters love story and watching them make mistakes can cause us to feel a myriad of emotions. Don’t be surprised if you have reactions as well!

All in all, this is a wonderful addition to the series, and I enjoyed reading it immensely. It’s not hard to get sucked into one of Melanie Harlow’s worlds and if you’re like me you’ll feel the same. I highly recommend this one.

I'm starting to think that the single parent trope is really Melanie Harlow's thing because this book is one of my favorites so far along with Unbreakable and both share the same trope!

Cheyenne has had a massive crush on her brother's best friend and next door neighbor Cole Mitchell for as long as she can remember, but maybe it's time to move on as Cole is an unavailable widower in charge of a 9-year-old girl. But the lingering looks, little touches and details were there, and they only needed a little nudge in the form of an embarrassing text message to take the next step.

There's just something about this story that despite the many issues that Cole and Chey had to face, felt light and easy to read, and perhaps it had to do with the genuine friendship they both shared.

Cheyenne was a 30-something kindergarten teacher who wore her heart on her sleeve. She was honestly so funny and down to earth that it was hard not to love her, and her relationship with Cole's daughter was already sweet and close, so it felt a bit like a found family trope. Cole was a little harder to crack but in the end he was a softie with a lot of unresolved issues. Most of the time he was sweet and laid back, although his macho act near the end bothered me a bit, but I'm gonna give him a pass because of all his trauma that he pushed under the rug all these years to focus on his daughter.

Overall I loved every aspect of this book, from the romance to friendships, and I totally recommend it even if you didn't read the first one because I think this can stand on its own.

When you have something precious in your hands, you need to hold on tight.”

When I finished reading Drive Me Wild, I couldn't get back to Bellamy Creek soon enough! Melanie Harlow writes some wonderful small-town romances and the vibe they have makes you never want to leave these places. So as soon as I learned that my return to Bellamy Creek is linked with Griffin’s sister and a certain handsome cop, I was overjoyed. And I must admit that this 'visit' filled my heart to the brim. Cole and Cheyenne's story is stunning, so heartwarming and uplifting! This single dad romance was completely captivating and unputdownable!

Single fathers are my weakness. And Cole is the best dad a little girl could dream of! It says a lot about the man, when he devotes his life to raising his child and making him/her happy. But Cole isn't just a dad. This is a man who has experienced pain and disappointment in his life. He's a guy who is protective, caring and honorable. He just needs to come to terms with his fears in order to fully open his heart.

Cheyenne on the other hand is one of the sweetest heroines I have met. She's patient and understanding. She has a big, caring heart that’s just waiting to be claimed. But she is also a woman who has a lot of self-respect and she doesn’t agree to be less than she deserves. I admire her for her perseverance and gentleness.

The chemistry between these two is sizzling and their passion was out of this world! All it took was a little slip of the finger (literally) to unlock surpressed desire and let those two hearts on the loose. They had some issues to overcome, but ultimately learned how to love without fears and worries. And that's what I adore the most about this story. Melanie Harlow showed the importance of closing the past to fully enjoy the present and the future. She set a beautiful example that if you can't deal with your feelings by yourself, it's not a shame to seek help.

Cole and Cheyenne's journey to their happy ending was an amazing experience. There were times when my heart swelled with happiness, and moments when I felt ache. This story is the ultimate romance that will move you, cheer you up and will melt your heart. Admittedly, I barely finished reading Make Me Yours, but I'm already looking forward to going back to Bellamy Creek and its irresistible residents!

Small town romance, heroine is infatuated with the town's hot cop who's her big brother best friend. She lives next door to him and his daughter—he's a widower, occasionally helping him with his daughter.
One night she sends him a SMOKING HOT TEXT by mistake.
What follows is a playful and sexy text exchange, a secret infatuation evolving into a secret romance, a touch of forbidden romance, lots of tension, great chemistry.
I loved this one!

“Well, accidents happen. But when you have something precious in your hands, you need to hold on tight.”

This is book two in the Bellamy Creek series. This book follows the life of Cole, Mariah(Cole’s daughter) and Cheyenne. It is a small town, single dad, brother’s best friend romance novel.

Make Me Yours is the second Melanie Harlow book I’ve read and I’m wondering why I haven’t read everything she’s written. I also read this series out of order so now I have to go read book one and continue the series. I recommend reading in order because characters from book one are in book two, where they continue to progress. I was just automatically invested in book two and couldn’t stop reading once I started.

This was the best of both worlds, it was packed with deep emotional scenes but also had me in fits of laughter. I love books that can pull out all the emotions and flow easy and naturally. There was a few times I wish I could reach inside and talk some sense into Cole. Glad he figured it out in the end.

“My scars aren’t pretty, but if you want to see them, I’ll show them all to you.”
*I feel like this is such a powerful statement to make. I love this and it’s one of my favorite lines in Make Me Yours.

💕Happy Reading 💕

Make Me Yours is book #2 of the Bellamy Creek series by Melaine Harlow a USA Today Bestselling author who writes sweet, sexy and heartfelt romance novels.
Web-Photo-Editor When you have something precious in your hands, you need to hold on tight.”

Officer Cole Mitchell lost his wife after giving birth to his beautiful daughter nine years ago. He’s a caring father, and a good cop who isn’t looking for a relationship. Yet his sexy protectiveness and irresistible charm have been Cheyenne’s Achilles’ heel since she was twelve years old. After almost two decades, no other man has ever compared.

When he was younger, Cole swore to his best friend he’d stay away from his little sister. But Cheyenne Dempsey is all grown up now and not only does she adore his daughter, the sweet, vivacious kindergarten teacher is all sorts of tempting. Surely there’s a statute of limitations on that promise? Especially after she sends him a sexy text that holds all sorts of interesting possibilities.

Cole and Cheyenne are wonderful together, with great chemistry and so much history that grows into a beautiful romance. I loved how she could read Cole like a book and give him all the support he needed. Because for all his tough guy, alpha male bravado, the tragic loss he suffered cause a deep scar.

Nevertheless, their relationship develops at a lovely pace with the help of friends, Cole’s adorable little girl and two meddling mothers. Their romance was full of delicious feels and incredible sizzle.

I loved this small town, friends to lovers, best friend’s younger sister, single dad romance, that made my heart melt.

Absolutely perfect! 😍😍

Let's forget everything I wrote about the previous book (which bored me to tears) and let's focus on this great read.

I love the best-friend's-little-sister trope, I think that's obvious, but who would have thought that I would enjoy the single parent trope so much...

The truth is that yes, I love these tropes but it wasn't just that that made me love this book. Everything about it was perfectly executed! I loved the plot, the characters were so likeable and the heroine is one of my favorites. She might have spent a lot of time trying to find someone who reminded her of the hero but when they were together she tried to have a healthy relationship with him. She didn't just accept everything he did so that they would be together after all those years and that's exactly why I loved her so much.

Mariah was such a cute kid and very mature. Cole did a great job raising her on his own.

If you decide to read this book please please please don't forget to read the extended epilogue. It was amazing! 😍

i keep saying that 'brother's best friend ' trope is not for me, so why almost every book I find has this trope? is the universe trying to tell me that I actually like this trope?

Cheyenne has had a crush on Cole since she was a kid, but she never acts on it. Cole since his wife passed away he hasn't had anyone, but lately, he can't stop thinking about his neighbor Cheyenne.

I have a soft spot for single-parent romance, Idk why but is so cute. and is so rarer for me to find a single-parent romance, where the parent actually cares about introducing the partner to the child!

This was a disappointment. Reading this book, I felt like it could have been written 20 years ago.

When we meet her, our heroine mentions that she has that “last fifteen pounds” she’s always trying to lose. Really? In 2020 we’re still concerned about being thin? Where’s the body positivity for our female heroines? Later in the book, Cheyenne is only eating salad and watching her friend eat a larger meal with envy. Why? Where did this come from?

Struggles with weight and body image can be written about with clarity and sensitivity. But this felt like, “Oh, and don’t forget to include a snippet about how Cheyenne thinks she needs to lose weight,” with no foundation or context. It felt like it was included because surely this is the way that all women feel.

Our hero’s big dilemma is that therapy is for “women and kids.” Literally, that’s what he says. Again, not discounting that some men (and perhaps women) feel that way. But it’s a cliché, and really sloppy writing (IMO) to have that be the big denouement. It’s just uninteresting to read about the fact that a guy feels therapy is only for women and children in 2020.

Not as fun as the first book, but definitely cute. Mariah was the best character, that little adorable girl.

I don’t know why but this series has me…

Unless other people I totally do understand why he was so stressed about his daughter and a new relationship.
Your child is everything to you and of course you want them to be fine.
I also understand her. You can’t just ignore the love you feel and „move“ on

I was a but annoyed about this whole „I‘m a man I don’t have feelings“ bullshit but it’s a man in his 30‘s so it was very realistic.

And again I just love this small town flair

I thought I had a favorite, but Melanie Harlow managed to surprise me. Again!

This author has the undenying power of enthralling you right from the first page. I was already excited by this story since Drive Me Wild, and when I finally started, I just couldn't put it down.

First of all: Mariah. I have the feeling that, no matter how many praises I lavish about her, they won't be enough. She was like a bright star. Everytime she made an appearance, everyone shone brighter.
She was sharp, witty, sassy, so insightful and smart. But at the same time, she still hold the purity and honesty you can expect from a child.
I deeply loved her.

Now Cole and Cheyenne. Oh my, I loved them. I craved them. Their story was so pure and genuine, their love was all-consuming, but in a healing way.

Cheyenne was so sweet and adorable. And even though she loved Cole her whole life from afar, it was inspiring seeing how she knew how to stand up for herself. She loved Cole with all her heart, but she loved and respected herself as well, and that was so empowering.

Cole was totally devoted to Mariah. Protective, loving, a single father that only Melanie Harlow can create. He lived for her, specially considering the huge loss they faced since her birth.
But through it all, he could always count not only with her mother and his best and most loyal friends, but also with wonderful Cheyenne. The girl next door. One of his closest friends. His best friend's little sister. The woman his little girl so clearly loved. And the one he was undeniably falling for.

Their friendship and camaraderie were undeniable from the start. But soon enough we could see that so were their chemistry and feelings. More than counting on each other, they started to dream about each other, plan around each other, see a future with each other.
I was addicted to their connection, their chemistry, their respect and love. It was impossible not to fall in love along with them.

Another thing I loved was how the author approached Cole's issue. It was so beautifully and sensitively written, completely poignant. It showed a journey he needed to trail, no matter how scary it seemed.
And even though it was his baggage to deal with, he started to realize he didn't need to carry it alone, and he had a huge and loyal security net he could count on.

Cole and Cheyenne are truly a must read. It was way more than I wanted, needed and expected.
An exquisite love story about healing, giving love a second chance, being willing to get vulnerable and fighting for the right kind of lasting love. You know, the one without the costume.

Let me start with the fact that every time I read ANYTHING by Melanie Harlow I suffer the best/worst kind of book hangover. I finish one of her books and I just want to live in that world for awhile longer. Make Me Yours is no exception. And now I don’t want to read anything else because I’m not over this book and even though I live in a small town I want to live in this small town. Where can I find a Bellamy Creek for myself?

That being said, Make Me Yours was amazing! I tore through this book, from the start I was read for Cole and Cheyenne. I was so excited for a single dad, best friend’s sister, girl next door romance, that I just could slow down reading. A slow burn, but the chemistry between them was on fire from the start. I feel for how much Cole and Cheyenne had in common, it was like they just clicked so perfectly. The just made sense together and the friendship they already had really added to how solid they could be as a couple. I also really enjoyed that for once the best friend (Griffin) didn’t mind that his best friend was interested in his sister. He supported and encouraged it, it was refreshing to see a brother be supportive instead of a road block. Trust me, Cole had enough personal roadblock that he didn’t need Griffin adding more.

Everything you would expect from Melanie Harlow is here. Angst, true love, hot Hot HOT moments, and a load of laughs. I truly laughed out loud a few times. Cole and Cheyenne are amazing, and their friends are as well. I can’t wait to see what comes next in the series. I am rooting for Enzo Moretti… I am ready for his story next!
