She’s my best friend’s little sister …

That alone should be enough to make me keep my hands to myself. Knowing her brother’s extra protective should seal the deal.

But after Ellie turns up on our doorstep while her brother’s not home and falls asleep on the couch after a misunderstanding with her roommate, I can’t seem to stay away.

I’m not normally the kind of guy who only wants what he can’t have, but in Ellie’s case, I seem to be making an exception.

But how can I have her brother’s back on the football field while stabbing him in it the rest of the time?

If you love brother’s best friend romance, sexy athletes, and stories that give you all the feels, grab your copy of Off Limits today!

Football, brothers best friend romances with low steam, and very little emotional connection. I found the plot very predictable, and couldn't bring myself to really care about the characters. Some of their inner dialogues were funny, but I hate that Simon didn't stand up to her brother right away. He lost points there for me right away, and like I said above, I never felt their connection. They were attracted to each other, sure, but that was it.

I also didn't like the brother (Cal) at all, and I'm definitely not interested in his story. I know he tried to make everything alright in the end, but he was just such a douche.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions.**

Ellie's been crushing on her brother's best friend and roommie, Simon, for awhile now, but she's never acted on it. For one, she's rarely at her brother's place for long before he's shooing her away, and another is she's not got a chance in hell of him feeling the same for her, right?

Simon's feeling the same way alright, but her brother is his best friend. He's conflicted because Cal has always been so protective of Ellie, and he knows better than to think he's allowed anywhere near her. But what if he can't keep away any longer? What should he do?

I love brother's best friend romances, they're usually a bit angsty because of the forbidden aspect, with the sneaking around and everything. Off Limits is a little angsty for sure, it's hot, and I fell in love with Simon. He's not the usual football star in New Adult and contemporary romance for one. He's kind of a loner, definitely not a playboy, and he definitely isn't a partier. He really was perfect for Ellie. Speaking of Ellie, I didn't really like her at first. She came across as timid and unsure, but given her parents and brother's behavior, I could sort of understand. By the end, though, she had grown quite a bit and I started seeing why Simon liked her so much. I haven't read much by Jerica before, but after having fallen so hard for Simon, I will definitely be reading more from her.

Off Limits is about Elle a college student struggling to find her place and direction while dealing with an overprotective brother. Simon knows Elle is off limits as per Cal meanwhile he can't stay away from her.

There are two things I automatically love about this book the sport and the college aspect. The love story between Elle and Simon is super cute and amazing. I enjoyed this from start to finish and plan on keeping up with the series.

Amazing! Loved it!

Simon has a plan, keep his head down, focus on his grades and skills on the field... and avoid girls at all costs. They are definitely a distraction he does not need, not to mention they only want to be seen with him for popularity points anyhow. But then one night he opens his apartment door and finds one of the most beautiful girl he's ever seen on his doorstep. One problem though, she is his roommates very off limits little sister!

He tries his best to stay away from Ellie, but every time he gets two steps away, there she is right back in front of him again, stealing all of his time and attention. There is no way this can end well...

Off Limits is a sweet forbidden romance that will have you smiling and swooning throughout. These two will draw you into their complicated world and have you hooked on their story instantly. Nothing screams trouble like sneaking around with your best friends little sister, and Simon struggles with this throughout the story. Knowing full well if his best friend finds out what he is up to things are bound to blow up between them and possibly ruin their friendship. But Ellie is tired of her brother always dictating how she live her life and feels as though if she wants to be with Simon she should be able to with no consequences. Which causes a little push and pull between them, but doesn't damper the chemistry they have. These two brought life, bits of drama, heart-squeezing emotion, and lots of steam to the pages... it was a perfectly penned romance! Highly recommend this one, it's certain to leave you smiling!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Off Limits is a college romance following Ellie and Simon . Simon is a focused college football player whose number one priority is his grades and the game. He has lost interest in the casual hook ups and it seems that none of the gals on campus have sparked his interest ...except her. His roommate and bestfriends sister is too much of a temptation for him .
Ellie has hopes and dreams but it doesn't seem to be the same as the future that her parents have played out for her. She has been dragging her feet in choosing a major but she just needs a push a reassurance. She has always had a bit of a crush on Simon but he is totally off limits but she can't stop thinking about him. When she finds herself on her brother's doorstep and only Simon is home the awkward evening just became a but more insightful than either one had imagined. They find themselves going from not saying a word to one another to sharing their hopes, dreams and fears. Maybe Simon is just the push and encouragement that Ellie needed.

When Ellie’s roommate kicked her out for the night, she has nowhere to go, so she heads to her brother Cal’s off-campus house. What Ellie doesn’t expect is for his roommate & teammate, Simon to answer to door with Cal nowhere in sight. Ellie’s had a crush on Simon since she started attending Cal’s University and seeing him shirtless practically makes her jaw drop.

As it turns out, Simon has been attracted to Ellie too but she’s been off limits since she’s his best friend’s sister. Cal is extremely protective and has made himself perfectly clear—Ellie cannot date his friends/teammates under any circumstance. But Simon and Ellie can’t help but form a friendship that turns into something more. They decide to keep their relationship a secret from Cal. But eventually the truth will come out and their seemingly perfect romance could blow up in their faces.

Off Limits by Jerica MacMillan is a new adult sports romance centering around the brother’s best friend trope. Those are all elements I love in books so I couldn’t wait to read this new release by a new-to-me author. This book was definitely fun and very steamy. Sometimes with the brother’s best friend trope, the brother doesn’t actually care much about the romance between friend & sister, but that’s not the case her. Cal truly is an a-hole for most of the book and he takes protectiveness to the next level when it comes to Ellie. I really liked both Ellie and Simon, they’re a great match. Simon is the quiet, brooding type. Ellie describes herself as The Smart One, lacking direction and feeling inadequate compared to people who know exactly what they’re good at in life. I related to her in that regard a lot! The story dragged a bit here and there but I still really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to Cal’s story next; I’m curious how Jerica will make him a redeeming character! 4/5 stars.

Simon is my new book boyfriend!

I loved this story a lot. Simon is the quiet, grumpy football player in Marycliff University. He keeps his head down and does what he needs to make it to the NFL and to graduate with a degree. He has no time for girls until he sees Ellie. She is sweet and funny but off-limits since she is his best friends little sister. So he keeps his attraction to himself, even though the chemistry is explosive.

Ellie has crushed on Simon since she met him but he doesn't say more than a few words to her every time they see each other so she has no idea that he is attracted to her either. Once she realizes that he is into her too, she takes a chance to tell him how she feels. Their relationship really has no angst if you don't count that they are hiding their relationship from her brother....while he lives with Simon. It is a roller coaster of a ride but they somehow make it work in secret.

I loved Simon, he was sweet and thoughtful and not one of those arrogant college football players that expects everything to come to him. Ellie has her own problems with deciding what to do with her life and picking a major, she doesn't need any distractions aka a relationship. They made a great couple! I loved the story and I can't wait for Cal's story.

"This book was a pleasant surprise. I first decided to read it because I try to get my hands on as many sports romance novels as I possibly can - but this story was very low on the sports action side and that would normally annoy me - but honestly what made this a five star read for me was Simon.
He is such a gentle giant with an absolute heart of gold. He was the perfect man for Ellie and it was beautiful to read him be the man that was so good to and for her.
Cal Ellie’s brother was ridiculous at times with his overbearing treatment of her. Although he did redeem himself at the end of the story and then that epilogue has certainly made me intrigued to read his story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book." ~Sharon

This was a good collegiate brothers-best-friend romance. Cal and Simon are roomies and best friends but nothing can stop the attraction between Simon and Cal's sister Ellie. A lot of this story is forcing and focusing Simon and Ellie to decide what they want for their future. The flirtations are foreplay and the angst is real in this story. Ellie brings out the sweet, caring person under Simon's gruff exterior. ~Cindy

A best friends sister forbidden sports romance.
Ellie and Simon start a forbidden romance, because if her brother Cal found out he would lose his mind,Cal is very over protective of her.
Simon is adorable and the attraction between him and Ellie is something that cannot be ignored...but there are obstacles and nothing is simple.
This is the first book in a brand new series by Jerica Macmillan, and judging by this story they are going to be Amazing.
Because I really enjoyed it and I was thoroughly entertained throughout,I was totally charmed by Simon and Ellie's story,Jerica's words always captivate me.
I am looking forward to more.
Magnificent read.

I loved this book !!!!! This was a college sports brother’s best friend romance.

This book is part of the Marycliff University series. This story revolved around a college student named Ellie. Ellie has a older brother named Cal that she attends the same college with. One night she goes to the house that Cal shares with his best friend Simon. Ellie goes there and who answers the door but Simon. Ellie likes Simon but he doesn’t know that. She asks him if she can stay at the house while her roommate has a guy over. Simon enjoys spending time with Ellie.

Ellie’s brother Cal wakes her up the next day and practically throws her out. Ellie’s brother Cal is a complete jerk to Ellie in this book. If she’s at a party with Cal she totally is mean to her about it. Simon and Ellie end up having misunderstandings where they apologize to each other. They end up going for doughnuts and she brings him doughnuts the first time. Simon is a football 🏈 player as well as her brother. Simon and Ellie get together without telling her brother. I think that Simon could have stood up to Cal about being with Ellie. I do liked that Cal apologized in the end. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Off Limits is a best friend’s younger sister situation, and it’s a trope I absolutely love. Slightly a forbidden romance because you’re never sure how the brother (or sometimes sister) will react, and Off Limits added in the element of football, making our best friends teammates as well. All of these things together should be pretty successful and for the most part, Off Limits did well. Really well.

I enjoyed our hero and our heroine in this story. Simon was a strong silent type; large, quiet, kind of grumbly. Ellie was a ray of sunshine, and also really funny. She had me laughing through her inner monologues and smiling at how she handled being a sophomore in college. Putting Ellie and Simon together was an interesting pairing, but they made it work. They were sweet together, steamy, and a pleasure to read, for the most part.

One thing I didn’t like? Ellie’s brother. Look, I get that in most of these romances, the sibling can be a jerk. That’s kind of the point, right? The unpredictability of being caught by the sibling (or someone who will tell the sibling) but at the same time, hoping they’re understanding so it can be a real thing?

Well Ellie’s brother was so much worse than a jerk. He was controlling, he was rude, and while they kept calling him “protective” he was not. He was just absolutely terrible, and honestly I wish the entire situation had been handled differently, especially with how this all impacted Ellie and her behavior.

This book was also way too detailed. I know a lot of readers like a lot of detail and background, usually I count myself among those readers. However this book just felt like it added way too much and I found myself checking out periodically, only to have realized I skimmed and had to kind of bring myself back to the story.

So yeah, I liked this book. I liked the main characters (mostly) but at the same time, the story itself kind of went off the rails and I found myself really not liking certain aspects of the plot or the characters’ behavior. If you like the best friend’s sibling trope, I definitely suggest giving it a shot, because for the most part MacMillan does it well. There were just a few things I wish had been done differently that make it a less than stellar book for me.

Let me start off by saying how much I loved Simon because my lord this man was pure perfection in every way possible. He is this giant of a man, that is quiet, prefers to keep to himself, loyal to those he cares about, and comes across as broody. Simon does like to keep things close and hates meaningless conversation, so this makes him seem like he is always brooding, but he just doesn’t see the point in it and focuses on his own goals. Ellie is this incredible person with a heart of gold, but just can’t seem to stand up for herself when it comes to her family especially her brother and dad. They walk all over her and her brother is a major jerk towards her even if he does it to protect her. Simon is very attracted to Ellie and vice versa, but both think this is a line that can not be crossed because of how hot-headed Ellie’s brother is and how much it could affect both their relationships with him. I wanted to smack her brother so many times because how cruel he came off towards her and how much it got in the way of this attraction that her and Simon had, but I understood them not wanting to rock the boat so to speak. Sometimes though keeping things between each other seems like the perfect idea, but when one wants more will the other fight for them or let insecurities destroy the potential of what they are building. I adored this book and everything that was Simon and I loved Ellie’s personality, but I wish she fought harder for herself and for Simon. Also, like I said her brother made me mad a lot, but I think he will get what’s coming to him and more next, I can’t wait to see it.

I need to say i started this book with high expectations. I mean, how could i not?
The trope is brothers best friend which is one of my favorite tropes and secret daiting.
But I was definitely NOT disappointed, this book was just so good!! I loved nearly every single thing about it.

The tension between the two characters, Simon and Ellie, was perfect and I really liked the characters themselves.
Simon is a football player and wants to get drafted and Ellie?
You only can love her!!
I have to say, sometimes I really felt sorry for her, because what she had to go through wasn't easy at all.
Simon, on the other hand, wrapped me right around his finger, you could clearly see that Ellie was important to him and that he wanted to make her happy!
I mean he brought her apology cookies?? How cute can someone be?
Just in general how both characters interacted with each other at the beginning was just perfectly described.

The book was also a steamy read with a mix of good plot, so you can expect more than just a cute romance book.
I'm very excited to read more from the friends group as they definitely got me hooked. I'm particularly excited about Autums book, she just has such positive energy and I've already taken her to my heart because she was just the best friend Ellie could have had.

Off Limits is a brother’s best friend romance centered around Ellie and Simon. The book starts off with Ellie seeking a a place to stay while her roommate occupies their room. She finds herself at the door of her older brother’s house only he isn’t there. His roommate and star football player was there to keep Ellie company. Sparks fly and both characters find themselves with a new attraction.

I loved the characters in this book, aside from Ellie’s brother Cal! But of course Cal isn’t supposed to be super likeable. Ellie’s roommate Autumn was by far my favorite character. She was giving me Stevie Nicks, witchy vibes, but make it Gen Z. I really hope she gets her own book. Simon was such a great love interest. Sweet, sensitive, supportive, and of course super hot! The steamy scenes were **chef’s kiss** The perfect amount of steam and sweetness.

The relationship between Cal and Ellie was definitely not my fav, but I did like the way their relationship progressed. My only critique was the way “the misunderstanding” was handled. I thought it wasn’t super realistic, but I really really liked this book and I fully recommended. If you are looking for a cute, sports, brother’s best friend romance this book is for you!!!

I really enjoyed this story, it showed a lot of growth from Ellie standing up to not only her father, but also her brother. While she has had a crush on Simon for awhile now, she didn't expect him to feel the same. Simon has kept his feelings hidden, because Ellie is not only the sister of his best friend, but he is also his roommate.

While her brother goes above and beyond what is normal for an over protective brother (probably why I went to a different college than my brother whose a year older) I could see why he was a little protective. Having seen just how some of the jock in high school circled around her he didn't want her to get hurt.

While Simon and Ellie eventually find their way together, the strain on keeping it a secret does start to strain their relationship. I will say I adored Simon, from the dates he took her on, his apology cookies, and just how he really was a giant teddy bear. This also provided the steam with them needing to get creative for where they could spend time together!

Overall a great sports romance with tension, drama and a happily ever after!

There is nothing I love more than discovering a new to me author and Jerica MacMillan wowed the pants off me! Off Limits is a brother’s best friend/sports romance. It was so good that I read it in one sitting and laughed out loud hard while doing so.

Simon and Ellie are university students. He’s a senior and on the football team working his way towards the majors and she’s a confused sophomore, still trying to find herself. As her brother’s best friend and roommate, Simon is off limits (even if he melts her butter). As his best friend and teammates sister, Ellie is beyond off limits (even if she owns real estate in his mind).

The whole “off limits” thing becomes a mute point when the two cannot keep their hands off each other. I loved Simon. He is not your typical football player and I liked that about him. I liked that he wanted the girl and was willing go after her and willing to face the consequences of his actions. Ellie I liked a little bit less, but by the end of the book was rooting for her to get her man.

Off Limits was a great way to get to know a new to me author and I look forward to reading more by her. TBR and Enjoy!

5 Big stars for this amazing book!

'Off Limits' by Jerica MacMillan is about Ellie and Simon. It all started when Ellie couldn't go back to her dorm because she was waiting for her roommate to give her the go-ahead to come back. So, she decided to go to her brother's house and stay there, however, it turns out her brother isn't home, but his shirtless roommate is there to answer the door. After spending the night watching TV together things go back to normal until Cal, Ellie's overprotective brother drags Simon to go, stalk Ellie whilst on a date. They end up crashing the date and Cal isn't the only one whose feeling protective of Ellie. Will Simon and Ellie act on their feelings, or will they let Cal get in the way of a possible relationship?

Steamy contemporary romances are my favourite, and I must say that this story was just as awesome as the cover is! So go ahead and purchase 'Off Limits' now to get into Ellie's and Simon's story! Happy Reading!

4 1/2 Stars for this sweet football romance!

Ellie and Simon are such a cute couple. I love how Ellie speaks her mind to her friends, I only wish she would speak her mind with her brother and parents. And Simon is just this big cuddly bear that I can't help but love. The banter between all the characters is so realistic ... especially Ellie and her quirky roommate. And I can just picture that guys on a team would interact just like in this book ... some are friends and some are not.

Cal plays on the Marycliff football team and he won't let his team mates anywhere near his little sister Ellie, even his best friend Simon. The electricity is thick between Ellie and Simon and they start a secret affair hoping that Cal won't find out ... at least until they know if it's more than a fling. The events that follow had me laughing out loud.

At the end we get a glimpse into the next book ... which is Cal's book and I can't wait!

So I'm gonna start with the star of this book for me, and that's the roommate Autumn. I love her! Where was my Autumn when I was feeling down in college? She is a wonderful example of women supporting women. And I adored every moment with her.
Okay so Simon and Ellie are the cutest. I love them both trying to play it cool, even though they are attracted to each other. The way they could read each other, from the beginning was beautiful. It made me root for them instantly.
The brother was so ridiculously overbearing, but it made you appreciate Simon all the more.
So I have a love/hate relationship with secret romances because they are super hot, which I  love, but they make me nervous. This book delivered on both ends of that. The chemistry was on fire between Simon and Ellie! And the added element of "will they get caught" made it hotter. They got in their own way a little near the end, but salvation came in a surprising package. This was a hot, fun, sweet read, that I would absolutely recommend.

Ellie is a college student and seemed a bit directionless and can’t seem to find her way and she has to deal with her overprotective brother. Which is kind of difficult when you have the hots for your brother’s best friend.
Simon has decided to focus on his grades and not get into trouble. But when his best friends sister spends the night at their apartment he knew his good intentions was going out the window.

This was just an okay story for me. I like the brother’s best friend type of romance but this one just felt a little to predictable for me. The interactions between the characters are great. I enjoyed the book and all I loved Simon he was hot and grumpy and not at all arrogant like you would expect from the college football players and totally my type of guy. And him and Ellie were just too cute together. But I wanted him to stand up to her brother and I wanted a bit more action, lol…. All in all a good read but just a bit too predictable for me.

Ellie is a college student who is trying to find her own way while dealing with an "overprotective" brother. She ends up on her brother's doorstep, the place he shares with Simon, his best friend. Cal (her brother) isn't home so Simon is the one helping her out. He feels a connection, but Cal has made it very clear that she's off limits, but the heart wants what the heart wants. It's only more complicated that these two are brothers on the football field as well, as drama can totally have a negative effect on the team. Off Limits was a good read with one HUGE issue, Cal (Ellie brother) who wasn't "overprotective" he was just a lot of colorful metaphors and the reason that I didn't love this story because he really brought it all down. He didn't love his sister or he wouldn't have acted like he did & I make no apologies for saying this. Anyway, this is only my opinion, and I'm a girl with strong opinions so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND you decide for yourselves!

Simon and Ellie were AMAZING.
The secondary characters (especially Autumn) were fantastic, even if I did want to stick Cal a couple of times.

Simon was kind, considerate, respectful, and just an all-around nice guy.
Ellie was caring, a bit of a pushover when it came to her family, and generally, thoughtful. I really enjoyed watching her grow as a character.

Gah! Their chemistry was immediate, absolutely fantastic.

The tension, build up and angsty goodness HAD. ME. HOOKED!
I absolutely devoured this book like the delicious morsel that it is.

I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

Off Limits is a captivating, sweet best friend's sister romance. It's also refreshing because Simon is not your stereotypical football player.

Ellie has been attracted to Simon for a while. But because he is her brother Cal’s best friend, she doesn’t think he will ever see her as more than his friend’s sister. A visit to her brother got her to spend the evening with Simon instead because her brother's not even there.

Simon has been denying his feelings for Ellie as she is definitely off-limits. But when the time that they spent together changes everything and now she is all he can think about. But is it worth sacrificing his friendship?

I truly enjoyed this fun and steamy read.

Sweet

A sweet story. Ellie has low self esteem and not much of a backbone. She’s drifting thru college, doesn’t know what she wants to do and has very little emotional support from either her parents or her brother, Cal. Ellie and Cal are only a couple yrs apart, go to the same college, but rarely see each other or talk, largely due to Cal not wanting Ellie to hang around him or his football friends. He thinks he’s “protecting” Ellie from his jerk friends. Ellie just thinks her brother hates her.

Cal’s roommate and best friend, Simon, is a left tackle on the football team. He’s a big quiet guy, kind of an introvert and has been attracted to Ellie from the moment her met her but has stayed away due to Cal’s misplaced overprotectiveness. That all changes when Ellie ends up at their doorstep looking for a place to spend the night after a misunderstanding with her roommate.

Simon and Ellie first try to fight off their growing attraction and sexual tension but in the end, they give in. They agree to keep it from Cal and everyone else and sneak around to see each other. Of course, as they both get deeper into their feelings and the relationship grows, things come to a head.

In the process, Ellie finds her backbone with Simon’s support and after a little bit of angst, some misspoken words and the realization that they were meant to be together, Simon and Ellie find their HEA.

It’s dual POV, no OW, no cheating, a couple of interesting side characters that I hope appear in other books. It’s wonderful to see Ellie grow and become more confident in her decisions, and to realize she can stand up for herself. And Simon is just so sweet and patient and understanding. He’s perfect for Ellie and stays a good friend to Cal.

I actually quite enjoyed this book. I’m a sucker for sports romances and especially if they contain some kind of grumpy character. I really liked Simon and I loved that he knew he wanted Ellie and he wasn’t denying it. I think their connection was written quite well but Simon could’ve at least defended her properly to her brother and stood up for her when he kept being controlling and about his feelings towards Ellie.

Now Cal, on the other hand, I did not like at all. He wasn’t protective. He was horrible controlling and it annoyed me to the point where I felt like I was in Ellie’s shoes and I hated that she didn’t stand up for herself properly. The way he was, it caused issues from the start with them and it wouldn’t have been like that if he was an okay sibling.

There was not much of a drama which I liked. Simon knew what he wanted and that was her. Of course she had her doubts and her issues but if they just communicated properly, there would be no break up. Nonetheless it was a good ending and I was pleased with it.

This was just your normal sports brothers best friend romance book and amongst the many I have read, this was still good. There was a lot of detail though like more so than I thought and I must admit, my eyes skimmed over most of it.

Though I hated Cal, I don’t think I’m going to move onto his book because he’s just horrible and ungrateful for his position on the team too and I’m a little scared to read his story knowing what he’s going to do to get that QB position.

I have a heap of these books on my TBR because they all sound right up my alley, but when I went to kindle to read one, I discovered that they are all actually part of a series so now I’m trying to read them in order. Which is helped greatly by the fact they are on KU and the audible add on is only $3 so I can read them, and adult and feel like I got a bargain.

Ellie and Simon were probably some of the best brothers’ best friend characters I’ve read recently. Obviously, they were hiding their relationship from Ellie’s brother but for once there were kind of legitimate reasons for it. Plus, they both didn’t really want to hide their relationship and felt guilty for sneaking around. Which was a nice change from the usual sneaking around for no real reason.

Simon had the whole quiet brooding thing down and I thought he would continue in that vein, but he was an awesome boyfriend. He was so open and communicated perfectly and he wasn’t at all what I was expecting from him. Ellie had a few moments where she acted like a selfish, immature idiot and she really needed to grow a spine. But since we had an idea of the why and she didn’t stick to her stupid when it was pointed out to her, she was easy to like.

I am so glad that Cal pulled his head out of his you know where, especially after seeing the teaser for his book at the end of this. I can’t wait to continue this series.

1.5/5 ⭐️ Honestly I skimmed through the majority of this book hoping it would get better and it didn’t. This was one of my least favorite brother's best friend/best friend's little sister off-limits romances that I've ever read. It was so drawn out, and it didn't feel like slow-burn it just felt like weird pacing. It just felt lacking... their chemistry, the weird hang up on the hug, and the brother's aggressive over-protectiveness that get's some kind of closure-ish? This last aspect felt very much under-developed. It didn't help that I typically do not like football romance to begin with, that being said there was so little football in this that that could be considered a sub-sub plot. There were so many moments in this story where they could've gotten together, or I wanted them to and it would've pushed the storyline further, and they just didn't. Overall just not it for me.

This was my first book by Jerica MacMillan but I really enjoyed it. She started off with a slow burning build between Simon and Ellie that left me so antsy for more. But, oh holy steam when these two did finally stop circling around their feelings and got together it was on. From there it became a high ride of secret passion and desire. I loved that thrill and anxiousness MacMillan created that filled me with the turn of each page waiting to see what would happen when their secret relationship was unveiled. Also, the set up did for the next book was great and I’m ready for Cal and Piper’s story!
