Hyderabad: Common Law Admission Test, CLAT 2019 would be conducted in offline mode. The decision to revert to offline paper was taken yesterday by the consortium of law institutes  - NALSAR, that conducts CLAT. AS per the information available, the decision has been taken in view of the technical glitches. CLAT 2018 result ran into legal trouble after students from all over the country complained about the technical problems. Keeping the incidents in mind, NALSAR has decided to conduct CLAT in pen and paper mode from 2019 onwards.

In the official release, the consortium has also spoken about the need to introduce a question bank. As per the official release, “To improve the quality of the question paper of CLAT, the consortium resolved to create a question bank to which experts from all the NLUs and other institutions would be asked to contribute”.  The meeting was chaired by NALSAR Vice-Chancellor Prof Faizan Mustafa. A CLAT Secretariat and permanent website would also be created and maintained by its permanent office in Bengaluru. As per earlier information released, CLAT 2019 would be conducted on May 12, 2018. As many as 19 law institutes in the country conduct the CLAT by rotation. CLAT 2019 would be conducted by National Law University, Odisha. CLAT is the largest national level law entrance examination for admission to undergraduate and post graduate law courses in various NLU’s and other law colleges in the country. However, CLAT is not accepted by National Law University, Delhi which conducts AILET instead.
