A gritty fictional novel based on true events in author Roland Sato Page life as a St. Louis police officer convicted of federal crimes. A tale of karma, confession, and redemption. The author takes you on a roller coaster ride of his journey searching for the answer "Where did he go wrong?"
I wanted to rate this book as a 5. However, the huge numbers of grammatical and other errors detracted heavily from it! If Mr. Page paid someone to edit his book, he was cheated! It reads like a first draft that was self-published without anyone else's help! Multiple errors in the usage of there, their, and they're and your and you're as well as the difference between the words conscious and conscience detracted from the book's readability. Another glaring error repeated more than once is stating that the Poplar Street Bridge in the City of St. Louis crosses the Missouri River rather than the Mississippi!
However, I did like the book and could not put it down. I hope Mr. Page writes another book but hires a good editor before he gets it published.
Normally, when I go into a family drama type book, I expect it to be very emotional. The thing that sets this one apart is that it brings in other elements that really change the dynamic.
Overall, Roland Sato Page has written a very compelling novel. The characters are so captivating and readers will be invested from the get-go. Between the crime and mystery aspect and the meat and bones of the book. there is really so much more to this novel and it will keep you on your toes to the end.
This book is loaded with so much. It's a great piece of writing while being set on real life experience. I really enjoyed the way the tale was told and how everything came to be. There are so many ups and downs and WOW moments, it really did blow my mind at times. Emphasis on family and actions and consequences and so much more!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. It’s very well-written, the characters pull you in, you will learn something new from it. The beginning for me was a bit slow unfolding. Once it got into it, kept my interest and was intrigued to complete the book.
