Dr Noor Hisham: Health Ministry hopes Act 342 can be amended soon

PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry is hoping that an amendment to the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) can be done soon to give it more bite in enforcing its Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).

Commenting on the possibility of having an election at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic is at a high, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham said the ministry is concerned about non-compliance towards SOPs by the general public.
