‘Back to the Future’ actress Elsa Raven dead at 91

LOS ANGELES — Elsa Raven, who played the “Save the Clock Tower” lady in “Back to the Future,” died Tuesday at her Los Angeles home, her agent said. She was 91.

Raven’s death was confirmed to Deadline by her agent, David Shau, Variety reported.

Born Elsa Rabinowitz, she chose Raven as her stage name, the website reported. She played character actor roles in film and on television.

Raven had a small part in “Back to the Future,” where she advocated the saving of a clock tower. She also played a real estate agent who sold the house in “Amityville Horror,” People reported.

Her final film role came in 2011 when she played Mrs. Harrison in “Answers to Nothing,” according to Variety.

Raven also played Ida Strauss in “Titanic," and her television roles included spots on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” in 1992 and “Seinfeld” in 1994.

Though most of the scenes she filmed as Ida Strauss in “Titanic” were cut, she was featured in the Celine Dion video as part of the couple in the stateroom where water poured in.

Raven also played the roles of Inga, a maid in “Amen,” and Carlotta Terranova in “Wiseguy.”

Raven also had a role in the soap opera “Days of Our Lives," Variety reported. She later appeared as herself in the 2006 documentary “Looking Back to the Future,” the website reported.
