I know you are as excited as we are for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort on May 31, and a fun summer ahead!

For the last several weeks, we have shared some helpful tips to help you plan your visit. Today, we get down to business and answer all of those questions you may have for opening day.

Remember, if you are planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23, you need a reservation for the land, and valid theme park admission. Still need a reservation? Stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel during that time period and your stay includes a reservation to see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

Already have your reservation? Sit back and let Disney Ambassador Justin Rapp help you get ready for your visit.

  • Hi What if you cant locate your Email with Reservation? I seemed to have misplaced it or Deleted it on accident

  • Please answer this question. Our large party has to reservation windows that overlap, 2pm to 6pm and 5pm to 9pm. They over lap at 5pm. If our goal is enter together into GE can we all check in at Star Wars Launch bay at 3pm, and all enter the new land at 5pm? I know that one group only get one hour and the later gets their full time.

  • Is it possible to add more people to my reservation? I was in such a hurry to get the reservation and failed to add one of my friends to the list. Right now I only have 4 people on my reservation.

  • I only added 2 guests to my reservation, it is too late to add 2 more?

  • What will happen if we have a late reservation and the park hits capacity before we can get in?

  • Hi, I am coming from Australia and I just wanted to know, our reservation is at 8am – 12-pm and we won’t be getting to the park until about 9am. Will we still be able to use our reservation as we will still have over 2 hours left of it ? Thanks

  • I think there is some confusion as to the parking structure hours. I have heard that the parking structure is supposed to be open at midnight tonight for tomorrow’s opening day. Is that the same for all of the days requiring reservations? When I spoke to a cast member by phone the other day, I was told that the parking structure would open at 5:30am on Sunday (the day of my reservation). Is this correct? I am getting more confused! Thanks for any help you can give.

  • What time will the various security gates be open? Will the 2AM merchandise line be inside or outside security? Like most everyone else I’m trying to determine how long it will take to get into the park to make my reservation time if there’s a huge crush of people also trying to get in to buy merchandise at the same time. Thanks!

  • Hey so I added my 2 year old daughter on the reservation list, would this be a problem with the admission

  • A number of people have asked this question, but I haven’t seen any answers yet. So, I’m going to try asking again. Will people with 8:00am reservations on Opening Day be allowed to purchase AP and Opening Day merchandise at the Star Wars Launch Bay while picking up their wrist-bands between 6:00am-8:00am? I’ve heard the AP and Opening day merchandise will only be sold at the Launch Bay, and I’m worried it will all sell out while we’re accessing our 8-12 reservation on Opening Day.

  • So we have someone in our 11-3 group who also has an overlapping reservation for 2-6 with a different group on the same day. Since wristbands can be picked up 2 hours in advance will that person have to leave galaxy’s edge, go back to launch bay to get their 2-6 wristband, and then go back to re-enter galaxy’s edge? Or will they be permitted to pick up both their 11-3 and 2-6 wristbands at the same time and just wear both since their reservations overlap each other by an hour?

  • Hi, one of the earlier posts mentions if we have an 8am reservation then we can get into Disneyland at 6am to check into Launch Bay. My 2 questions is that the same process for hotel guests and if so will we be able to buy
merchandise at Launch Bay before 8am.

  • Hi, as Disneyland Hotel guests, do we go through this same process? Or are our wristbands picked up at the hotel?

  • Parking? Would really appreciate getting the extended parking lot hours [not able to locate anywhere]. Needed for upcoming Star Wars 8 am [6 am check-in] reservation on Saturday, 1st. Thx!

  • I have a reservation for Star Wars Land. Will the line for the ride also have fast pass availability?

  • How strict is the government issued ID matching the reservations, one of our guests, I was just informed, whom I have known for 20+ years as Chad, is legally Charles?

  • For the government issued ID. Just received an email that mentioned that “A government-issued photo ID includes, without limitation, driver’s license, passport, military ID, government employee ID and permanent resident card” Does this mean that if your driver’s license is marked with ‘Federal Limits Apply’ you will need an alternate photo ID?

  • I have 2 guest on my list who are not going to make it. I know it’s a long shot but is it possible to change the names for those 2? 🙏

  • My boyfriend put down a huge party for our reservation. I’m worried the other guests he put down won’t show up. So what happens if it’s just 3 out of the 5 that show up? Or if it’s just the two of us? Does that mean we won’t be able to get in?

    • Whomever is present at check in, and matches the reservation, will be admitted. If three members of your party are present, and you know the other two aren’t coming, those three can get in. The other two would not be admitted later as you cannot split up the reservation.

  • Hey all at the magical of Disney!

I am planning to attend Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on Opening Day. I read on your blog, that merchandise will start lining up as early as 2am, and I was wondering–

is there going to be a designated area?
proper sign postings to know where to stand in line?

IS there going to be a Cast Member to escort Guests without having us to run inside of the park like a crazy person?

Because for May 4th, it was a disaster for trying to find the right line for the SW: Jumbo Pin and the experience wasn’t the best sadly.

    thank you so much!

  • We are going after June 23-How will it work then? Will there be fastpssses available 90 days prior? It’s a gift, so I would like to know in advance, if possible.

  • Does our whole group have to be there to enter Disneyland at 6am? Or just as a group at Launch Bay at 8am?

    • Your group must check-in at Launch Bay together. Members of your group can enter Disneyland park separately, but when you check in at Launch Bay, your entire party listed on the reservation must be there.

  • Does your whole party have to arrive together?

  • Echoing Lisa’s question from above – what happens if the park is at capacity before our entrance time? Our timeslot is later in the day so I’m concerned that we won’t be able to get in.

  • How will things work after check in? Will a queue form at Launch Bay and then that queue will be walked over to GE at reservation time? Please explain the entry details! Thanks.

    • After check in, you are free to enjoy Disneyland park. At the start of your reservation time, you may report to the entrance of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge given to you at check in.

  • How many reservations can one person have during the 3 week intro period? Can you have one made during open reservation and then one by staying at a Disneyland hotel? Reservations are on different days.

  • So will there be a dedicated entry at the main gate for those of us will 8:00 reservations on the 31st so we can get checked in ?

  • As i understand it there will be special gates, the same a magic morning.
Which entrance will be used to enter GE? critter country, ect..

  • Please answer for those of us with 8am reservations. Will there be turnstiles set aside for those with 8am reservations so we may enter at 6am? Will we be able to proceed directly to Launch Bay to check in and then wait there to 8am? How will you get people across the park in time for 8am open?

  • Can I just say “Ditto?” We also have an 8 am reservation, so when can we check in? Will there be a special park entrance/line for those with GE reservations?

  • Great information, Michael and Justin. For those of us lucky enough to have an 8:00am reservation, will we need to go to Launch Bay upon entering the park at park open?

    • Hi Todd – You may check in beginning 2 hours prior to your reservation time. If your reservation is at 8 a.m., you may enter Disneyland Park at 6 a.m. to check in at Star Wars Launch Bay. Please note, no attractions or locations will be open until 8 a.m.

  • So if we have a 8am reservation for may 31st, is the launch bay going to be open at 6am for us to check- in? Or does that only apply to guests with other time slots?

  • So if we have a 8am reservation if the park opens at 8am so we have to wait in line at the gate then wait till rope drop then go to tomorrowland launch bay to wait in line to check in then walk across the park to SWGE so losing about 30-45min of reservation time?

  • What happens if the park hits capacity and I haven’t entered the park yet, but have a reservation?

  • Our group has a 8am-12pm Galaxy’s Edge reservation. Based on the info in the video, we would get in line with everyone else waiting to enter Disneyland as early as 2am JUST to get into the park which opens at 8:00am on 5/31. We would love to enter Galaxy’s Edge AT 8:00am and not around 8:30a-8:45a (which happened at the June 2012 Cars Land Opening morning) which could happen if we join the pre-opening queue. Can there be an express turnstile set aside for the 8am-12pm SWGE reservation holders?

  • We keep getting bits and pieces of the puzzle, but I’m still not quite sure how its all going to work for our family on the opening day of Galaxy’s Edge. The latest tidbit of information is that we can “check-in” at Star Wars Launch Bay “2 hours prior to our reservation”. We have reservations for opening day morning at 8:00am. Does that mean that we will be permitted entrance to the park and will be allowed to check-in at the Launch Bay at 6:00am on May 31st? I believe it has been mentioned that line-ups for merchandise and land check-in begins at 2:00am. Where is this line-up going to be? What time will the security gate at the entrance to Downtown Disney be opening? We are a family of 4 with two young boys (ages 7 and 10). From the bits of information we have gathered, it sounds like we’re going to be spending the night waiting in lines for security, then in lines to check into the park, then in lines to check-in at the launch bay, then in lines to get into Galaxy’s Edge. We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel the night before Opening Day. I’m assuming we’re going to have to forgo actually SLEEPING in our room in order to get into the various lines, which is honestly very frustrating for us. I can’t fathom why Disney wouldn’t take into consideration that guests have spent a lot of money reserving hotel rooms that they would like to actually use. We are annual pass holders and frequent visitors to the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian. But we’re pretty frustrated at how this seems to be panning out.

  • “You may check in up to 2 hours ahead of your Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Reservation”

For 8AM reservations, will we have to wait until the park opens first at 8AM to check-in at Launch Bay? Or will we be able to check in at Launch Bay before 8AM?

  • ok, so what do we do if have 8 am time slot? Will we be let in early to check in or will there be a separate check-in in for that time period?

  • So we can check in at Star Wars Launch Bay up to 2 hours before our reservation time. What about those of us with reservations at 8 am? Will we be able to get access to the Launch Bay prior to park opening, or will we be checking in elsewhere?

    • Hello! You may check in beginning 2 hours prior to your reservation time. If your reservation is at 8 a.m., you may enter Disneyland Park at 6 a.m. to check in at Star Wars Launch Bay. Please note, no attractions or locations will be open until 8 a.m.
