Cardinals Sign LB Gerald Hodges

Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals have signed LB Gerald Hodges to a contract on Sunday.

Arizona brought in Hodges for a workout a few weeks ago, so he was clearly on their radar as a potential addition.

A report from earlier in the day mentioned that Cardinals LB Jeremy Cash suffered a possible season-ending knee injury, so it looks like Hodges will take his place on their roster.

Hodges, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2013. Minnesota elected to trade Hodges to the 49ers in return for a sixth-round pick and C Nick Easton back in 2015.

Hodges played out the final year of his four-year, $2.58 million rookie contract and signed a one-year deal with the Bills last offseason. Unfortunately, the Bills cut him loose coming out of the preseason and he eventually caught on with the Saints during the season.

The Saints released Hodges back in February.

In 2017, Hodges appeared in 11 games and recorded three tackles.
