Why Should You Try Poetry?

That’s true, while I thought of sharing my experience of writing poetry for the last 7.5+ years, this was the first thought which came to my mind.

Poetry: it’s raw, it’s emotion and experience, and it’s free flowing. Most of us have different perceptions about poetry, poems, verse, and more but I just felt like sharing my heart on why you should really try your hand at poetry.

So from where I come, I never thought I’d be a poetry person. I was a school student who used to read and remember poems just to later write the references and context.

The words didn’t mean a lot to me, I never knew the “purpose” of those set of words.

The interpretations were subjective to all and I didn’t see a lot of people loving poetry. I grew up just knowing the text book version of poems and the very famous writers and poets like Shakespeare, Frost, and Wordsworth but never in my imagination I thought that I’d become a poet, a writer, and a published author in future.
