Overall I really enjoyed this book. The intro was fairly brief but set the following stories up really well.
#1 - Taming Terri 1 star
Parts of this book left quite a sour taste in my mouth and several times I came close to DNF'ing it.
Terri is NOT in the lifestyle, has never had an interest in it nor considers herself to be a submissive. Nick takes it upon himself to spank her without her consent. The second time he attempts to spank her, leads to a situation that results in Nick 'needing' to punish Terri.
a) Her response to the second spanking was actually acceptable, he was in the wrong. They were there to work and he was treating her like his plaything. I didn't care for Nick at all, he showed none of the qualities of a 'good dom', especially considering Terri's complete innocence of the world and her discomfort with many aspects of it.
b) The punishment he concocted was totally unbelievable and far too extreme for a woman who had NEVER even thought about BDSM before. Would Master Marshall really give the go ahead when he was fully aware she was a vanilla police officer only at the castle as part of her job? I found it too unbelievable and this turned me off rather than on.
I really liked Terri and, had her initiation into the BDSM world felt much more SSC I know I would have enjoyed this book. I don't mind non-con and dubious con when it is deliberate and part of the plot (as you can see from my reading list!) but when it's under the guise of true BDSM then it hits a hard limit for me.
Embracing Eden - 5 stars
I loved the story of Eden and Grimsley. Full of hidden passion and sexual tension. Every action was consensual and I loved how Grimsley not only reminded Eden she had a safe word to use, but also that he would be very disappointed in her if she didn't use it if/when things got too much.
Whilst Eden is at least interested in the lifestyle, she is fairly new to the scene and has an awful lot of learning to do. Grimsley is only too happy to enlighten her to all the castle, and his hands, have to offer!
Both characters simply drew me into the story and I totally fell in love with them. I felt their emotions, their struggles, worries and passion.
Tempting Tasha - 5 stars
Oh my word this was swoony and hot and kinky and fun all rolled into one amazing story. So good I just couldn't put down!
Tasha ends up at the Castle by fluke and pretends to be an employee. She doesn't know a thing about BDSM but soon learns some very painful but climactic lessons at the hands of Dungeon Master Eamon.
Despite the insta-love (or almost) vibe I really enjoyed this story. I loved how Eamon struggled with his feelings, how strong Tasha was. Their chemistry was off the charts, wow I need a cold shower now!
Controlling Carly - 4 stars
Wow what a hot read! Luke was a bit overbearing at times for me, but I loved how the author kept the true power with Carly. She had the ultimate control over whether he got his way or not so I found I could accept him. There was plenty of chemistry between this pair and some very fun, hot and boundary pushing scenes. I did like that a the hero was more angst filled than the heroine, she knew what she wanted and, despite her own worries, was determined to try and win the prize. In some ways I felt she let Luke of a little easily, but hey the sister was getting her dream guy so I can't fault a girl for that!
Freeing Fawn - 5 stars
A definite must read amongst all these fantastic stories. It's a Golden Angel books so you know there will be butt stuff in there, and what seriously scorching butt stuff it is in so many ways!
I totally fell in love with both Master D and Fawn. Neither of them were too perfect or wonderful for words, which actually made them all the more likeable and amazing. Ms GA has an ability to write very real people into her books, so that you feel a part of their lives and that you might actually bump into them and be their friend. She also writes very, very sexy stories that may require one-handed reading or lead to a lot of fun for you and your partner.
Harboring Holly - 5 stars
This is an intense, sexy and exciting story. I really liked both characters and totally believed in their relationship. Holly and Flint had an intense chemistry and this tale fairly sizzles it is that hot.
I found the writing style really easy to read, it kept me engaged throughout with both the plot and the pace. This is the first work I've read by Raisa Greywood, but it certainly won't be the last.
Capturing Cassandra - 4 stars
I liked how this twisted things so that the heroine is the FBI agent and the 'hero' is a bad guy with a conscience. I felt many of the BDSM elements were on the darker end of the spectrum, Master Diablo certainly held some boundary pushing fantasies. I really enjoyed this story for that aspect alone. Add in a kick-ass heroine and a bad guy with regrets and you end up with a really entertaining, hot and twisty story.
I would describe this as an insta-love story, which isn't a genre I often 'buy into'. However I did very much believe in the chemistry and passion between the couple. Again the writing is good, the story is easy to read and follow, characters had depth, play scenes were very hot and the pace held my attention.
Guarding Grace - 4 stars
Another good story with another 'vanilla' heroine. However this one HAS at least got a basic knowledge of kink and is more than willing to give it a try. Having had to work hard to show others she isn't helpless, Grace struggles to truly give up and submit. Chris has his own battles and demons to face but together this pair have something wonderful and very worth fighting for.
Grace is a strong and fun character, totally adorable and genuinely likeable. Chris was so swoon-worthy and sexy, especially in his vulnerability. I loved when, for his own good, Grace topped from the bottom and the way he accepted it but then took back control.

A RETURN TO THE CASTLE, EIGHT STORIES BY TEN AUTHORS
What an exciting adventure back at The Castle, with many of the main characters that have been featured in previous stories. BUT, don’t let that make you feel lost if you haven’t read them (but oh, my gosh, you will want to.) Each story will all fall into the same story-line of mystery, suspense, danger, adventure, discovery, along with dominance and submission. What happens when Master of the Castle, Marshall Leaf’s cousin, Grace Barnes, is in danger and needs a safe place. Refusing to be sent to witness protection, Marshall decides that The Castle is a guarded fortress and the best place for her to be.

Harvey Cabena and Winston Ollington were the only two other witnesses, and they have since been killed. The eight stores are not repeats or previously released. They are eight new stories that all flow together around the main theme of Witness Protection. Each of the eight stories will also highlight a couple during this intense timeframe.
Taming Terri - Allysa Hart & Rayanna Jamison

The beginning of these eight stories in one book will have two law enforcement officers, partners, and former lovers going to The Castle undercover to try and apprehend a killer and protect a witness. She seems to be so klutzy when around him, constantly running into the back of him and suffering his disapproval and eventual punishment. The story of Tasha and Master Eamon is one of those meetings by accident adventures. Tasha is worried about her missing baby brother, William, who called her to let her know he was meeting with a bad man he borrowed money from and couldn’t meet the payback deadline and giving her the name of Carmen Massino.
Tasha managed to locate Carmen along with his henchman and following them via plane, vehicle, and bus to The Castle in Granger, Ohio. Dane Morgan and his partner, Luke Montgomery are on assignment at the Castle to try and apprehend Carmen who is after Grace Barnes. Dane is posing as one of the employed Masters and can use security to keep an eye out for Carmen. Watching from inside the castle when Fawn arrives with other guest has him questioning what is going on with her and asking Marshall to place her with him. Dane will have access to her file and knows her real name is Fawn, but questions if she isn’t with Carmen.
Fawn has never played in a BDSM setting, rarely has time for sex, and is so out of her element. Don Lenzo filled out her paperwork and sent her to the Castle with instructions to kill a man—Mario Ricci. With Don Lenzo, if she doesn’t kill Mario, she is as good as dead, and her father too.
The chemistry between Master D and Flora shakes both of them up. He knows she is hiding something but must be cautious with questioning her. As they spend time together, especially in the dungeon, he knows that her application is less than truthful, the look on her face says it all. She refuses to back down, and he proceeds with several sessions. What neither one expected was that she seems to find pleasure with pain.

Carmen will learn that Grace Barnes is in Ohio at the Castle and along with his right-hand man, Mario Ricci, they will go there to finish the job of eliminating a witness. What a shock for Holly to hear Carmen’s voice and see him and Mario, but Mario sees her too.
Mario is an undercover agent, Flint Turner, who has been with Carmen gathering evidence to put him away. The nasty part of his job is witnessing Carmen murder innocent people and having to stay undercover. The one good thing he ever did was help Holly escape Carmen, and now, here she is and he must once again keep her safe. For two long years he has dreamed of her, and now having her to be his kajira with some minor cosmetic changes is a way to do that.
The story is suspenseful knowing who Mario really is, what his handlers are telling him he has to allow to happen, and trying to keep not only Holly but also Grace Barnes safe. Now, having a chance to spend time with Holly while not letting Carmen see who she is, offers a constant challenge, one of life and death. Trying to keep his hands off her doesn’t work as well, especially when she is so submissive and craves his dominance and control. There are a strong bond and chemistry between Mario and Holly.

The clock is ticking down, and Carmen is determined to complete his task and kill Grace. Mario is doing everything to appear in compliance of his boss while trying to protect not only Grace but Holly. When the bombs explode who will be the victims?

The final story in this amazing addition to the Castle will be about the witness, Grace Barnes, cousin to Master Marshall. Grace has been blind for many years but has adapted to her surrounds, her life, and her job. She just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, along with several neighbors. Carmen has murdered those two innocent men, and while he doesn’t know she is blind, she is in his sights. The police what to put her in witness protection by Mashall Leaf believes that the Castle, his home, his business, his livelihood will be the safest place to hide her in plain sight.
Grace had been brought to the Castle, given the name Ella, and a protector in the form of a former soldier, and dominant, Christ Nelson. She is supposed to pretend to be a girlfriend to Stephen, but in a matter of hours, that will change because of his immaturity. Chris will step up to the challenge.
“No worries. Just think of it as your very own witness protection program, complete with a new name. ”
The chemistry between Chris and Grace is immediate, and she must be able to trust him to keep her safe. But, she also wants to explore more in the D/s lifestyle of BDSM, and he willing agrees along with Marshall, under proper consensual contract.

The story is a journey into trust and acceptance for both Chris and Grace. She helps him when he has panic attacks and never judges him for them. What an exciting adventure back at The Castle, with many of the main characters that have been featured in previous stories. BUT, don’t let that make you feel lost if you haven’t read them (but oh, my gosh, you will want to.) Each story will all fall into the same story-line of mystery, suspense, danger, adventure, discovery, along with dominance and submission. Taming Terri - first story in the book. A woman is doing an undercover job, and makes it clear she does not want any part in the kinky aspects of the resort. While there, her coworker surprises her with a morning spanking, to which she responds with the only safe-word available to her: the castle safeword. This triggers a response from security. Her humiliated coworker decides to retaliate by gagging her and publicly spanking her at dinner. He gets frustrated with her before dinner, and releases his frustration with borderline-violent sex, for which he does not ask permission. In other words, he gets paid to rape his coworker.

OMG, 8 stories by 10 hot authors? Oh yes, please, sign me right up. I mean, who wouldn't want to read these stories?
The premise of the boxset is that Grace, the cousin of Master Marshall, the owner of the Castle, the BDSM resort, witnessed a murder, and now, she's refusing police protection. Since he loves his cousin so much, he decides that he will do everything that he can do to keep her safe. And the best way he can think of to do that is to bring her to the Castle, under his security and in a location that he can have some control over. Yeah, he's a Dom, can't you tell?
So, now we have 8 stories about people who are there undercover to take down Carmen, the killer who wants to take out Grace, or people who are there to keep her safe. Not everyone involved is a LEO, nor does everyone know that they are sub when they walk into the Castle.
There are so many great stories and great authors that it can be hard to pick out which one is best and which one I like the most. Of course, I don't think that any one story is better than any of the others, so they are all the best. (See how I got out of that one? Go me!) And I don't know that that I like one story more than the others, but I do like some characters more than others. Like, Grace and Holly are my favorite heroines. They have some important things in common, like both being very strong characters who are independent, but who are able to be submissive and to realize that it doesn't mean that they are weak, or lesser, or doormats.

Probably the longest book I have ever read by amazing authors. Hope they get together and do it again. Well thought out and put together with each author taking a couple to romance each chapter during the same few days at the Castle.

WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM
The book immediately starts when Marshall receives a phone call from a police detective illuding to the fact his cousin Grace is in trouble and won't co-operate. Marshall catches the first flight out and finds out Grace and two other men had been unintentional witnesses to a murder. Two of those witnesses have been dealt with and the police believe that Carmen "the Butcher" Massino is now after Grace. Grace refuses to go into Witness Protection since Carmen has officers on his payroll. Marshall agrees with his cousin and decides the best place for her is the castle.
1. TAMING TERRI by RAYANNA JAMISON & ALYSSA HART
Terri and Nick were partners on the police force. They've been assigned, along with the bomb squad requested by the District Attorney, to keep Grace safe and catch Carmen Massino should he appear at the resort. These partners had dated at one time and the chemistry is still there. The problem? Nick was into BDSM and didn't feel comfortable enough to share his interests and the vanilla relationship just wasn't enough. On the other hand, Terri was an independent woman who felt like she was continually fighting the stereotype of a female office. She was also a creature of habit, so to speak, and wasn't one to move out of her comfort zone and for the most part, didn't usually care to try new things. So when she decided to stop dating him, it was because she thought Nick just wasn't into her physically. After all, she felt like something was missing. Can they catch the bad guy AND learn to enjoy all that the Castle has to offer?

The book immediately starts when Marshall receives a phone call from a police detective illuding to the fact his cousin Grace is in trouble and won't co-operate. Marshall catches the first flight out and finds out Grace and two other men had been unintentional witnesses to a murder. Two of those witnesses have been dealt with and the police believe that Carmen "the Butcher" Massino is now after Grace. Grace refuses to go into Witness Protection since Carmen has officers on his payroll. Marshall agrees with his cousin and decides the best place for her is the castle.
1. TAMING TERRI by RAYANNA JAMISON & ALYSSA HART
Terri and Nick were partners on the police force. They've been assigned, along with the bomb squad requested by the District Attorney, to keep Grace safe and catch Carmen Massino should he appear at the resort. These partners had dated at one time and the chemistry is still there. The problem? Nick was into BDSM and didn't feel comfortable enough to share his interests and the vanilla relationship just wasn't enough. On the other hand, Terri was an independent woman who felt like she was continually fighting the stereotype of a female office. She was also a creature of habit, so to speak, and wasn't one to move out of her comfort zone and for the most part, didn't usually care to try new things. So when she decided to stop dating him, it was because she thought Nick just wasn't into her physically. After all, she felt like something was missing. Can they catch the bad guy AND learn to enjoy all that the Castle has to offer?

And as nervous as Master Grimsley makes her, she's caught his eye before the initiation even finishes. I could watch Eden screw up and Master Grimsley trying to hold his patience but when he gave her the choice of options on how to handle things and that four-hour hourglass, my stomach tightened and I had butterflies.

Small things don't add up but is she an undercover? An associate to Massino? Can he get the answers she's hiding before anything happens?

This is one of my favorite series and to have this collection out by all these wonderful authors is great.
Taming Terri by Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamison
Nice and Terri are called in to work on a case together. They have a past but decided to just be friends instead. The case is looking for a killer at The Castle; a high end BDSM resort that Nick has dreamed about visiting. Of course, Terri doesn't know this about Nick and the story that follows makes for a very cute and interesting story. Terri is a total brat and drives Nick crazy from the moment they set foot on the grounds of the Castle. Of course Master Marshall and some of his staff know who they are and why they are there but that doesn't stop Nick from trying to introduce Terri to this side of him. Will he be able to get through to her before a horrible event happens?
Tempting Tasha by Tabitha Black:
Tasha has come to The Castle in hopes of talking to the one person who may know where her brother is. When she loses the man in the crowd, there is a huge mixup and she is mistaken for a new hire and sent with the others. Hoping to stay and hunt this man down, she goes along with the "game" and is eventually sent to the dungeon as a Little Maid. Enter Master Eamon. While he takes a liking to her, he is determined to stay away from relationships and begins to think there is something going on with her. Little by little, the two become involved and Tasha feels guilty for lying about why she is there. Eamon also realizes that he feels something deeper for Tasha but before either can talk, the event happens. What will happen when Master Marshall and Master Eamon discover Tasha has been lying and why?

Fawn comes to the Castle on a mission. When Master Dane sees her, he suspects that something isn't right but can't put his finger on it. As time goes on, he becomes more and more involved with Fawn and she feels horrible for keeping secrets from him. What will happen when those secrets come out? Will Master Dane still want her and what will Master Marshall say? This is a really great story that kept me turning the pages. I couldn't wait to find out what would happen.
Embracing Eden by Maren Smith
This is one story I was really looking forward too because the author is a favorite of mine. True to her word, this is one HOT story. We finally get to see Master Grimsley fall for someone and it's a wonderful thing to watch. Eden is hired on at The Castle and can hardly believe it but Master Grimsley scares her. She feels clumsy and idiotic around him when she really wants to impress him. Grimsley doesn't want to feel anything for little Eden and keeps denying himself of the feelings but not the pleasure. While he mostly grumbles and is hard on her, feelings are growing and he doesn't like it. When one day, Eden is sent up to the third floor and the event happens, Grimsley is scared he has lost the one person he now knew he loved more than anything. Is Eden safe? Will he get the chance to tell her he loves her?
These are only 5 of the 8 stories in this collection and as good as these 5 were, I can't wait to read the other three stories!! Do yourself a favor and pick this collection up. Spend an afternoon or an evening with some awesome stories that will give you lots of happy feelings.

I received an arc for four of the books in this book and I am sure I will be getting the book once it is published based on what I Read.
Guarding Grace
Grace needs protection but as the reader progresses it is clear that Grace is the protector, albeit not in the traditional sense. Being blind enhances her senses and she soon tires of the Dom assigned to take care of her and she asks her cousin Marshall to relieve Stephen of his duties and assign her just to Chris who was her bodyguard. There is instant attraction and as much as Grace wants to be Chris' submissive she has trouble not topping from the bottom. Chris is patient and although he has his own demons, the dynamic between he and Grace , thanks in part to sage advice from Marshall, and Kayla's talks with Grace, evolves to that or Dom/sub and they fall in love.
Grace is frustrated that Chris won't open up to her, but as the perp gets closer to Grace and her life is on the line, Chris overcomes his fear to save her. This is a sweet love story with a twist and is a great addition to "The Castle".
Embracing Eden
What an amazing story, so different from anything else I have read. I laughed out loud and had tears in my eyes at other times. There is no sweetness and light as Grimsley is to gruff for that until the end...There was very little actual sex, but the anticipation and thoughts of Eden and Grimsley was so hot the pages sizzled. When the bomb exploded I held my breath thinking Eden was dead. All the emotions the reader feels are due to the talent of the author Maren Smith and her ability to draw you into the story.

I love all Golden Angel's books and this one was no exception, Fawn reminded me of Lexie and Dane was everything you could want in a Dom. Fawn's inner dialogue made me giggle and even though she was a thief and would be assassin she was a delightful character and her introduction to BDSM couldn't have been better. Dane was experienced and guided her through even though he didn't know she was inexperienced, instinctively he knew everything was not as it appeared and he discovered the truth. He was not deterred however, and I particularly liked that there was follow up after the castle that made me go aaaahhh!

Nick and Terri make an unlikely couple and yet when they are honest with themselves and each other that is when their relationship becomes real. Champ is an integral part of their relationship, not in a sick way, but as a focus for them and an anchor for Terri. Nick is the ever insightful Dom who decides the time has come, given their location, for him to let Terri know and he reads her beautifully. Terri is in denial for most of the time, but as so often happens in a disaster, she becomes aware in the nick of time.

I have read only a few of these stories so far, each one is a complete story of it's own, but all are interconnected with the Castle situation at the same time.

Champ is a bomb sniffing dog and poses as Terri's working companion to her undercover, Deaf disability. This is a great story that keeps you on your toes with all that goes on, and Terri learns how to be submissive to Nick's Dom persona that is really his normal title although he has never told Terri this before.

Things start off very badly for the new hire, Eden, she is mitaken for a snoop and hears things she shouldn't. Grimsley gets charge of Eden and the their fun begins! I loved this story of the routinely stone faced, strict disciplinarian and Eden the newbie to most things submissive. Lots of fun but sometimes painful lessons Eden must learn.

I so hated Taming Teri, in which the male c0-worker beats, humiliates, and rapes his female co-worker, who has never in her life been in a BDSM club or done a scene, AFTER she uses her safeword. that the rest of this book could have been War and Peace and I still would give this one star.
Attention authors: Anyone can use their safeword, anytime. If you're setting your book in a well-respected BDSM club, then it would behoove you to remember that. Otherwise, if you can't get this most basic tenet of BDSM correct, then find another genre to write in.

Overall there’s a lot missing from quite a few of the stories, just overall context. It’s like you’re already meant to know everything so you spend half you time trying to figure it out. The overarching story is ok, and actually rather well written considering each story is from a different author.

Great compilation. This is a pretty even anthology. Most of these authors are familiar to me and I was not disappointed by any of them. The Castle is a place to live out all of your BDSM fantasies. I really love all of the main characters who work for The Castle. There is a thread that runs through every story linking this into a coherent collection. Come meet the guests and find out how it all works out. It feels like a 360 degree story.

A RETURN TO THE CASTLE, EIGHT STORIES BY TEN AUTHORS
What an exciting adventure back at The Castle, with many of the main characters that have been featured in previous stories. BUT, don’t let that make you feel lost if you haven’t read them (but oh, my gosh, you will want to.) Each story will all fall into the same story-line of mystery, suspense, danger, adventure, discovery, along with dominance and submission. What happens when Master of the Castle, Marshall Leaf’s cousin, Grace Barnes, is in danger and needs a safe place. Refusing to be sent to witness protection, Marshall decides that The Castle is a guarded fortress and the best place for her to be.

The story has an epilogue, and I was just about in tears at the thought of the Castle being demolished because of the bomb blast. I have been a huge fan of each story in this series and was sick thinking it was the end—but so relieved when I learned it wasn’t.
I look forward to more books in this series, and the Witness Protection has been a page-turner.

This is such an amazing collection. Each of the story in this anthology is a full length book. It took a while for me to read the whole thing because I was reading other books between each story. Each story offers something different and I enjoyed some more than others. I will review each one on its own in this review.

This is a fast paced story where you have to hope they solve the crime and yet you are routing for Terri and Nicholas to re-build their relationship. What Terri needs to learn most is to accept herself. And Nick needs to learn to stand up for what he wants.

Eden thinks she is just starting a new job but she ends up with much more then she was betting on. Grimsley too is taken by surprise at the strength of the feeling. Everyone is surprised by Grimsley's reaction. Eden realizes she didn't even know what she was waiting for.

Tasha really wants to just find answers about her brother. So she's on the trail of the bad guy and is actually able to locate him. She needs a cover to be successful. Eamon is determined to remain single. Somehow Tasha is able to get under his skin. He rocks her world right back and the bets seem to off. I did find it kind of hard to believe that she got in so easily with all the security.

It takes the "magic" of the castle to take Luke from "big brother" to lover. Carlie surprises him by matching up to all of his desires. They also have the time to really communicate.

There is so much tension in this story. Trust is hard to come by and you know so much is at stake. I like how you to see how being deep undercover takes it toll. You also see Holly's own strength and determination both past and present. Suspenseful but really good.

I admit that the beginning of this story made it really hard to care about Sebastian. Unlike in Holly's story where you know before the story even starts that the bad guy is really a good guy this guy just seems really bad and pretty selfish. You do feel Cassie's real desires are being almost used seem to make this relationship seem work. But I didn't wonder that she still wasn't being used. This story really has such a dark twist. These two quotes really seem to sum up these characters: 1. "The two women inside were distinctly different, a trait that had never clashed. Until now." 2. "For a split second, she saw the real man inside. He was the one who was afraid."

Over all I loved each of the stories individual and for the most part they fit together well even as the story intersect or overlap. With so many authors it still works well. So I did give the story an overall rating of 5. But in some ways it was a 4. Some of things that I had some problems with is that throughout this series the security and privacy of the castle was top notch. And yet you have unqualified people showing up for work. Another just walking in and no one catching it. When characters did seem to be questioning things were sort of swept away. Also, with all the agencies running around everyone seem to be unable to really communicate with each other. They make a big deal about Carmen being unable to be identified yet there is one agency member, a bad guy, a previous victim, and a person with questions could all ID the bad guy. I felt that if there was just a bit more communication things could have ended better but I guess that would have been less dramatic.

This is the first time I have read any of the Masters of the Castle books. What an amazing experience! Although I only received 4 of the stories in this anthology to review, they were so much fun to read, I fully intend to find and read all the previous books in this series. Each story that I read, connected to the others in spirit, but could definitely be read as a standalone. If you are interested in stories with a highly erotic, deliciously naughty Dominant/submissive power exchange, read this anthology.
Taming Terri by Rayanna Jamison & Allysa Hart
Nick and Terri are previous lovers, best friends, and partner police officers in a K9 unit. They are tasked with protecting a witness, hiding out in a BDSM sex resort called, The Castle. I love the way their assignment slowly allows Nick to reveal his previously hidden Dominant pursuits and Terri to overcome her reluctance to indulge in experiences that could possibly open a whole new, vibrant, sexual world to her. It was amazing how Terri manages to get herself and Nick into enough trouble, so that in order to remain on the job, she is forced to immerse herself into the D/s lifestyle. I loved watching her slow, wobbly, erotic, but steady growth into accepting her partner and best friend as her Dom. It is a wonderfully realistic internal struggle of an independent, sassy, forceful woman who is in love with a man she discovers to be a Dom. You will have to read this excellent book for yourself, to see if, despite the mind-blowing, erotically hot sex, she is able to retain her own power while accepting his dominance!

He singles her out to be his sub and they engage in extremely hot, exciting, painful/pleasurable scenes. As they interact, both Dane and Fawn begin to develop intense feelings for each other. Yet, Dane wonders how Fawn will react when she discovers he is an FBI agent, and Fawn fears her own death is imminent after she commits her assigned murder. As I was in the middle of reading about their first encounter, I was no longer able to focus on anything but these two characters and their reaction to each other. OMG! This is sooo HOT! And then, there is more. More pleasure overriding pain; more punishment fulfilling need; more nervousness annihilated by anticipation.

have been looking forward to reading this boxed set since I heard about it. I love this series so much. Master Marshall’s niece is a witness to a crime and what better way to protect her until the criminal is caught, then in the Castle. Because nobody gets into the Castle uninvited or do they?
This boxed set introduces new characters and authors to the Master world and we reunite with familiar faces.
It is a must read if you are a fan of the series and otherwise a great introduction into the castle.
Taming Terri
The star of the story for me is Champ. He is quite a character, a bit of a charmer and a hero.
I liked Nick a lot. He had a lot a patience and it was great to see him show his true nature to Terri.
Terri was a character I had trouble with. She was annoying for 90% of the book. She wanted to be professional and be seen as a important part of the team. She wanted to be taken serious, but as soon as she gets an assignment she didn’t like, she acts like a rude brat. And she doesn’t let up..
I did enjoy Nick and Terri’s interaction, it made me laugh and it was hot.

Eden is such a wonderful character. She is sweet,adorable and genuine. I just loved her for the first moment
And I have been hoping there would be a Grimsley story. He might seem all stiff and proper and in charge of his emotions, but when he meets Eden everything changes. I loved seeing him getting all wound up in his emotions and his internal turmoil. It makes him more human and very sexy.
It was so lovely to see them together and there is such a chemistry between them even though there is no sex until the end. The sparks are there from the first meeting. But there is also a great insight into their emotions and feeling.
This was my favorite story in the set.

There is an instant connection between tasha and Eamon and oh so hot. Tasha is a very likable character. I loved her innocence and strength and open mind.
Can I have an Eamon? I loved how he showed Tasha a whole new world.
And this book also shows that the security isn’t so tight as marshall thinks.

Fawn is a thief who is ordered to kill a man to save her father. She has no idea how or what. She is newbie, but that is not what her paperworks says. That is something that had happened before .
Dane is a FBI agent and has fawn on his radar from the moment he sees her. She is hiding something, but what?
And what better way to a trip to the Dungeon to get the truth out. I loved how these two danced around each other and both had their own agenda and didn’t want to give in.
Controlling Carlie
Carlie has had a crush on Luke since she was just a kid, but he sees her as his best friends little sister.
It is not until he sees her at the castle when he realises she is all grown up. Luke tries everything in his power to scare carlie until leaving so he won’t crack. But that isn’t as easy as it seems. It was wonderful to see charlie's journey into this lifestyle
There is a lot of emotions in this story. the have know each other for years and finally being together can either ruin them or make them stronger

Such An Awesome Introduction
Eight awesome stories all tied in around protecting Grace. Each story introduced a new couple whether it was a Master of the castle or a visiting Master. All nicely tied up in a bow because it introduced to me some fantastic new authors to follow. Each story fit hand in glove with corresponding following story all tied up with the epilogue. I can't wait to read the next compilation. You won't be sorry reading this book at all, I read this through the KU program.

This is an anthology of stories that all take place at the same time through the visions of different people, each one of them telling their tales. The prologue for this book set the tone for how I felt during the reading of this anthology. We meet Marshall Leave, his wife, and his cousin Grace. Why is Grace not being cooperative and who accuses her of that? What do we learn? Enjoy the fact that htye happen simultaneously!

Wow, when we get to the bomb scene after some interesting experiences, we get to see in this story the truth about everything that happens that we've not gotten to see anything about in the other stories. Does Grace live through this? You're going to have to read and see!
In the epilogue to this anthology, there are some true shocks that happen! I cannot wait to see what is coming on the horizon, for all that we met here in these stories and all who we may meet in the coming stories. Enjoy the stories!

I don’t normally go for anthologies or box sets. The stories generally aren’t long enough to sink your teeth into and the thread that ties all the stories together thin at best. But a Master of the Castle box set? I’m ALL in! I’ve read every story, every boxed set. They are always the highest quality. And best of all- each story not only has characters from the Castle, but each of the stories in the set are linked together in some way. So it’s not like reading eight completely separate books.
TEN STARS just for bringing us back to the Castle with such top notch authors.

Taming Terri by Alyssa Hart & Rayanna Jamison
“She didn’t want to be want to be his icing. She wanted to be his whole cake.”
So I’m not gonna lie, Terri is not my favorite person for a lot of this story. (Although by the end, she won me over.) Her insecurity makes her act obnoxiously. But I still was pulling for her and Nick, because through her obnoxious behavior you see her vulnerability and conflicted feelings. Now Nick, Whew! He is one hot man. An officer and a Dom. 🔥🔥🔥 Sign me up! And of course there is Champ. Who could resist him? I loved this whole story. ❤️
Embracing Eden by Maren Smith
“Run”
I never in a million years thought I’d read about Grimsley’s love life. In my mind he was probably a stern older man, strictly keeping every one in line. Even his name is forbidding. We get little snippets of Eden in Taming Terri and I was getting excited see what was developing with her and Grimsley. Eden is sweetly adorable. I loved her. And Grimsley- we’ll what can I say. I loved getting to know the fierce man behind the switch.
Tempting Tasha by Tabitha Marks
“Don’t ever lie to me.”
Tasha is chasing a bad man to save her brother and it leads her right to the Castle. Right to the Castle and Dungeon Master Eamon. Tasha is a total newbie but knows she has to make things work. Master Eamon is a whip ‘em and leave ‘em kind of man. But something about Tasha... She seemed off... but also was irresistible. This was one hot book. I only wish we could see more of the ‘after’ and there was a little teasing the author did about littles, but alas it was all tease. Otherwise, super sexy story!
Freeing Fawn by Golden Angel
“She and her vagina really needed to have a talk about appropriate responses.”
Fawn is another woman with a secret. She is at the Castle for less than innocent reasons, but you have to feel for her. She gets distracted by Master D, and who wouldn’t? He’s sexy and has plans to show her the kind of sizzling hot time the Castle is known for. Of course Dane has secrets too. Their chemistry red-hot. There is a little angst, some danger. Add some humor. Everything you need in a can’t-put-it-down-book!
Guarding Grace by Katherine Deane & Kate Richards
Strong for each other
Grace- She’s the reason for this entire box set. ☺️ Blind, but independent and spunky. I love how the authors really take us inside her world. And Chris. Oh how I *love* Chris. He’s so vulnerable and yet strong. What a contradiction - yet there it is. The story that unfolds is very emotional, while still delivering the heat you expect from. Master of the Castle book.

Masters of the Castle: Witness Protection Program is based on Grace who is the only surviving witness in an assassination case. Their story is about the two of them working undercover to protect Grace all while Nick is able to test out Terri's submissive side, even though she fights him every step of the way.

Working to find her target, she must blend in to get close and during the process ends up with Dane who is instantly attracted to her. Their story follows along as they fight their insta love attraction all while Fawn keeps secrets. If she and Dane will ever have a chance, Fawn will have to come clean about why she is really at the Castle.
Guarding Grace is really who this whole box set is about. Trying to stay safe as the last witness of a crime, Grace is hiding out at her Cousin's BDSM castle. In the process she has high security all around, but instantly finds comfort and safety with Chris. They are kindred souls, she is sight impaired and he suffers from PTSD. Together they will weather this lockdown, keep Grace safe and explore their attraction to one another.
Embracing Eden: Grimsley takes Eden under his wing after she is caught snooping around. Grimsley isn't used to finding himself wanting to dominate a submissive until Eden practically falls in his lap. He is by nature a strict and unrelenting Dominant and Eden even though she is clumsy and overly apologetic, is making him think that taking on a Submissive wouldn't be a bad thing. He feels a spark between them and it tempts him to see where things could go. This whole story was one long example of pure angst.
From what I have read this series is definitely HOT and I anticipate fans of the BDSM genre will thoroughly enjoy having this in their collection.

Taming Terri by Rayanna Jamison and Allysa Hart
This is such a fun, sexy story. I really liked how Nick handled Terri. The ending made me cry it was so emotion filled.
Embracing Eden by Maren Smith
Poor Eden just wanted to serve and somehow kept messing it up. She always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. This story is great and surprising. Who would have ever thought Master Butler would settle.
Tempting Tasha by Tabitha Black
This story was very hot and sexy. Tasha, a vanilla, sneaks into the castle as a new hire. She promptly ends up in the dungeon. And the things she and Master Eamon get up to, well you just have to read it.
Controlling Carlie by BJ Wayne
Carlie is an BDSM author who is in love with her brother’s best friend. Both of them have secrets and they end up at the castle together. One undercover seeking a killer and one seeking a connection with the person the love. Oh, the tangled web they weave. The ending was great.
Freeing Fawn by Golden Angel
Wow, this story is phenomenal. Master Dane knows she is up to no good but can’t figure out how Fawn is connected to the killer. Little does he know she is actually there to kill someone. And that someone is connected to the killer. The ending is emotional but good.
Harboring Holly by Raisa Greywood
Holly is a little maid at the castle. Master Migel is the killer’s right hand man. When Migel sees her at the castle he decides he needs her for the weekend. Having once escaped the killer, Holly knows exactly who Migel is or does she? Great story.
Capturing Cassandra by Piper Stone
Cassandra falls for Master Diablo, a very bad man. Especially considering she is an FBI agent undercover at the Castle. Her master knows she is law enforcement right away but he also sees the submissive buried deep inside her.
Guarding Grace by Katherine Deane and Kate Richards
Grace, a blind woman who witnessed a murder is hiding out at the castle. The master she is assigned, Master Chris, connects with her on so many levels. Great story.

Wow, Maren really knows how to wrap up a story. So much emotion and angst. Wonderful conclusion.

May 1, 2019Story one: Taming Terri - I enjoyed this story but I got tired of Terri pretty quick.
Story two: Embracing Eden-Amazing book. I love how the author builds anticipation. It was so hot and steamy. Even before the sex scenes I was hot and bothered. I love this author. Grimsley is a Dom I would love to have. The dynamics between the two main characters is so sexy.
Story three: Tempting Tasha - when I first started this story I was a little disappointed because I thought it was going to go in a different direction. Luckily I kept reading because it ended up to be a hot and steamy story.
Story four: Controlling Carlie - so far my least favorite story. I am not into the scene in my personal life and the only way I know about BDSM is from reading. I like the stories where the Dom takes care of the sub, from beginning to end. Like Master Josh was starting to with Carlie by asking her questions. Luke was an ass. Understandably he didn't want Carlie at the castle but the way he tried to get her to go home was just plain mean. Luckily she liked everything he gave and wanted more. Maybe my problem with this story was it just wasn't my kink. The spanking and even using the flogger was fine but I think the other stuff with Carlie being a newbie was a little too much. I tried to get through this story as fast as I could, luckily it was short.
Story five: Freeing Fawn -
Story six: Harboring Holly - This story took a turn that I wasn't expecting.
Story seven: Capturing Cassandra - I know that these books are all fiction but it was just too unbelievable how Sebastian and Cassandra fell in love. The story was entertaining but I didn't feel the connection with the main characters like I did in the other stories.

I've been looking forward to this set for quite a while now! It's a collection of stories by different authors, all set in the Castle, and we do get to see Master Marshall again (yes!!). The only thing with this set of stories - it's so hard to force yourself to take a break between them.
Taming Terri -
A story with a dog has got to be a good one! Terri and Nick are on a mission to the Castle, and Terri is their K9, masquerading as Terri's "therapy dog" while they're undercover. Terri is so completely thrown off balance by the setting and Nick's dominance - this was one of my favorites in the collection (oh who'm I kidding - how do you choose?). The scene at the Master's Table is a definite highlight from this story.
Embracing Eden -
Eden is one of the most endearing characters I've read in a long time. If it can be tripped over, she'll trip over it; if Master Grimsley can be walked into, she walks into him. Their relationship and his "softening" attitude lead up to his finding her at the end - and the way he reveals his love for her then. A story that leaves you smiling (as well as overheated!).
Freeing Fawn -
Golden Angel is one of my favorite authors, and it's through her that I even heard about the collection, so I'm biased about this story! Fawn's story combines heat (much of it!) with intrigue and suspense, and I don't even want to start to tell you about it in case I spoil it! Suffice it to say, Dane and Fawn are a wonderful couple!
Guarding Grace -
Grace is the reason for the collection; she's the last surviving witness to a murder, and she's Master Marshall's cousin. But Grace is blind, so hiding her in plain sight isn't that easy. She's paired with Chris as her Dom, after an inauspicious start with a Dom that's less than suitable, and, while he helps to guard and hide her, she helps to heal his wounds too. Grace's stay at the Castle could so easily have gone wrong - but it went so right.
There are four more stories - and each is worth reading. And the Masters are so so hot!

3.5 stars, rounded up
I think 8 stories around one plot point is too many. I am, to be frank, rather "Castled out," at the moment. I'm having a harder time getting into each story than I did the last.
I liked the 1st 3 stories quite a lot, especially Maren Smith's "Embracing Eden," where stern Master Grimsley finally finds someone to care about. I thought the plotline developed particularly well here, and as the characters are the least involved in the overall plot, I thought that an interesting contrast. I also enjoyed Taming Terri and Tempting Tasha, particularly Tempting Tasha, again because it was less related to the overall plot.
I had a harder time getting into Controlling Carlie and Freeing Fawn (and I usually love Golden Angel). The general "undercover at the Castle" thing was just getting old. And there is a plot point missing by this time. Never do all the law enforcement types who are assigned to protecting Grace and finding Carmen ever all sit down together so they all know who each other are and therefore will not do stupid things when they run into each other.
I also found it odd in both Controlling Carlie and Freeing Fawn, the 2 FBI agents just basically seem to stop working once the bomb goes off and we pick them up again after the story is over. Really? Dane and Fawn can just run off? He doesn't have any paperwork to do, not to mention debriefing and oh yeah, making sure that Grace is alright.
I think this was a good idea that got out of hand because there were too many writers involved and not enough overlap, if you will, between stories. Like the scene I wanted where all the law enforcement folks would sit down together.
I did finish and I still think it would have been better with a couple fewer books. The one where the FBI agent and the assassin get together really strained my credulity.
But I will always buy new Masters of the Castle titles when they come out. But this one just seems to have worn me out, which I'm sure was not the intention.

Taming Terri (3.5 stars)
Terri frustrated me to no end…..really wanted Nick to take her to task immediately with all the idiotic things she got up to. I just feel it took him to long to get to the point.
Freeing Fawn (3.8 stars)
Fawn is a woman on a mission and Dane wants to know not only the purpose of Fawn being at the Castle but also the woman. Enjoyed their interaction a lot.
Embracing Eden (4 stars)
Really enjoyed this read There is something about how Maren writes a scene that is very powerful and enjoyable. She really has a way with words. Loved the relationship build between Eden & Grimley. The things Eden got up to really had me rolling with laughter....a real Calamity Jane. Maybe this is why I enjoyed it more than the other 3 books. This had all the power play but with the humour and the steam as well. Excellent read.

Grace & Chris was good. I got good insight into the Castle from the perspective of a blind person. Loved Chris who has his own issues to work through but ultimately was a constant during Grace's stay at the Castle. A woman new to the submissive journey who was given a gentle introduction and then found she enjoyed the power exchange

I'm not usually attracted to anthology-type books, because short stories often don't quite get going and a good percentage of them can be...less than.
This time? Home run. All of the stories were excellent, and because they kept to the theme of the Castle very strictly, going from story-to-story and author-to-author was seamless. Every work belonged to the individual authors, make no mistake, but a reader recognizes the setting and even the original, recurring characters, without fail. It also helped that all of the books were at least novella length so readers will get to know the backstory of each couple as well as their place in this moment.
And I can't say enough about how well the stories cross-referenced each other. Each story takes place in the same few days, and the same central event guides them, but I certainly didn't pick up on one thing in any story that conflicted with the events as laid down in another.
Characters and personalties were vivid and engaging, and the premise was a solid foundation in which to enjoy all of them. I do hope the next "Masters" is currently under the same construction as the Castle because sometimes, more is better!
