Manheim sees record breaking performance at Hitachi CV auction

Manheim was able to sell £1.2 million worth of premium commercial vehicle stock from a pop-up auction held at Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions’ site in Trowbridge.

This is a record breaking performance for the auction company.

A total of 239 buyers participated in the event, achieving 106% of CAP average and 98% sale conversion.

The average selling price was £10,013 and 49% of all lots were sold online to buyers logging in via Simulcast, Manheim’s online buying platform.

For the first time at this event, all vans were sold with Manheim SureCheck LCV, a 41 point pre-sale mechanical inspection providing a market leading seven day assurance period for buyers.

Dylan Thomas, auction manager at Hitachi, said: “Our annual off-site auction event is a key deliverable in our partnership with Manheim. We’ve always been impressed with their market leading service and buyer engagement.

“Hosting an off-site auction and offering premium CV stock from our Trowbridge site is a great opportunity to showcase the Hitachi business, our team and our culture. We’ve created a unique and engaging experience for our valued buyers.”

Matthew Davock, director of CV at Manheim, said: “We’re proud to have partnered with Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions for more than a decade.

“Five years ago, having listened to Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solution’s strategic requirements, we designed and delivered this unique auction event. We’ve built it annually and today it creates a real feeling of anticipation and excitement.

“Due to the premium nature of the commercial vehicles up for grabs the pre-sale event catalogue was viewed over 3,000 times, staggering considering the 120 lot entry.”
