Amara Jain is fearful and hides from her past by staying in London, England. Amara’s boyfriend Thomas hires a bodyguard, Elias Cortez that Amara can’t help but be attracted to his mystery. Thomas might need Elias for when he goes out to party he instead makes Elias watch over Amara most times. Amara at first is curious about Elias who usually is quiet and tries to get him to open up. As Elias guards Amara he enjoys her unpretentiousness and kindness. Elias can’t help but be attracted to her but knows having a relationship with her is out of the question. Amara also feels strongly for Elias and knows she can’t act on her feelings either. When Amara leaves Thomas she falls even deeper for Elias who wants her too. Thomas wants Amara back and is willing to use Amara’s secretive past against her that not even Elias will be able to save her from everything.
What an amazingly good dark suspenseful romance! Unfortunately, there is so much confusion of the past and who the characters really are. Sure that is all explained later but until then you are left wondering why Amara hides from things, who Elias is truly and what he actually did and what Thomas actually knows. Yes, the story still manages to move but it’s is jarring that it makes for uneven writing and story. You can’t help but imagine the worst of everyone which doesn’t make the characters likable or endearing. Amara the scared reserved heroine is hard to get to know that she seems cold. Elias the strong silent hero is a little better but also leaves you apprehensive. He’s brutal and will beat up anyone that he isn’t someone you really want as a friend. I think what saves him is he’s very handsome but is antagonistic and aloof that he definitely doesn’t give you that warm feeling. Still the tone of the story feels right and will keep you on the edge of seat making it quite a page-turner!

This is a wonderful addition to this amazing series and is Elias and Amara’s journey. When Elias becomes Amara’s boyfriend Thomas’ new bodyguard, the chemistry between them is intense and explosive, and when she ends her toxic relationship, there are no holds barred between them. This is a well written flawless story which has engaging characters, and is an intense roller coaster journey throughout, as well as being filled with passion, lies, deceit, secrets, and love. This is one of those stories which just needs to be devoured in one sitting. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all. I look forward to reading more form this gifted author.

I’m just absolutely blown away!!! Girl you know how to write a book. I have to say this is my first book by Sophia Valentine and will definitely not be the last. You will be sweating reading this book. The vibes coming off Amara and Elias are insane and it screams for a release from the sexual tension. Makes you want to stand in front of the fridge waving the door to cool off, Keep the books coming because you definitely have a reader for life!!! HOT, SEXY, INTENSE, GET THIS BOOK !!! You will not be disappointed!!!!

I just finished Brutal and dear God in Heaven was it hot!!! The sexual tension was excrutiatingly pleasurable. The waiting game and the chase between Elias and Amara was fantastic! It was just like a jungle cat mating dance. A purely fantastic ride. Sophia Valentine now has a loyal reader for life. If you haven't read anything by her yet, what are you waiting for? You won't regret it. GO! GO NOW! Run to your computer or favorite book store and buy this book!!!

I didn't know what to expect with this as this is my first book by this author but wanted to see what she would do with the addition to the series. I was not disappointed. Boy was this a lot steamier than I expected but it was very welcome. It's not just the steam but the chase and the tension between Amara and Elias that kept me glued. I couldn't blink but I also needed a breather. I swear I was even fanning myself from the heat coming off this.

Wow! This story was so vivid it was like I was watching a movie. This is a story about Elias and Amara, two people with pasts that they need to get past to work towards their future.
This story has everything you need, a little drama, a little suspense and a whole lot of steam. This was my first book by this author and I was glad to get the opportunity to read and review it.

Immersive, engaging , many words ti describe Brutal. Great book hard to put down. A gift that keeps giving. It left you hungry for more everytime you read. Well written , HOT!!!! What else can you ask for?
