Hard to Handle

Rate this book
New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg is back with an all new second-chance, standalone hockey romance.

At first, the request seemed simple—sign a new athlete to the agency.

Then I found out the new athlete was none other than the most wanted man in hockey today: Hunter Maddox

Gifted. Sexy. At the top of his game. And the only man who has ever broken my heart.

If signing him will help save our family business, I’ll swallow my pride and do what’s asked.

But when it becomes clear his uncharacteristic antics off the ice are a hint of something deeper, keeping things strictly professional between us becomes more than complicated. But I know better than to cross that line.

I’ll never date a client. Not even for him.
***
Win the Stanley Cup and do it before time runs out.

Not a small feat, but it’s what’s motivated me since the start of my career.

And time is running out.

Enter Dekker Kincade.

Feisty. Dogged. Damn gorgeous. The one I let get away.

I have no idea why she’s traveling with the team, but hell if resisting her is going to be easy.

But I have a job to do, and I refuse to lose sight of that end game. Even if she confuses me. Even if she sees parts of me I’ve hidden from the world.

I can’t lose focus. Not even for her.

Are you ready to fall for the Kincade sisters and the men who love them in K. Bromberg's sexy, contemporary, sports romance series? These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!

Hard to Handle (Hunter & Dekker's story - hockey romance)
Hard to Hold (Rush & Lennox's story - soccer romance)
Hard to Score (Drew & Brexton's story - football romance)
Hard to Lose (Gunner & Chase's story - baseball romance)

4.5 STARS
I knew that the minute I laid eyes on him. I knew that there was going to be a casualty in all of this. And most likely, it was going to be my heart.

GOD. Rip my heart out, why don't ya, K. Bromberg. Holy hell. This story was a one two punch straight to the feels. I was expecting another amazing book from one of my favorite authors. What I was not expecting, was to blubber my way through every emotion it seemed to wrangle out of me. And oh my GOD, the emotion!

The premise of this new series is addictive. Four sisters who barely get along and couldn't be more different are brought together by a common goal to save their father's failing sports agency. First on the docket is Dekker who is assigned to win over a hockey super star from an agent that keeps stealing their clients out from under them. The only problem? The man she's assigned to go after is also one that turned out to me more than she bargained for 3 years ago with what was only supposed to be sex.

Hunter Maddox is a hockey god. Captain of the team, he battles demons that no one knows about that are quickly causing him to spiral out of control in a cloud of rage and guilt. He may be an incredibly talented professional hockey star on the surface, but on the inside he's burned out and hurting. He hasn't seen Dekker since she walked out of his hotel room three years ago. They were only supposed to have hot sex between them, but it didn't take long for it to become something more for him. He doesn't know why she's back in his orbit now, but he'll be dammed if he'll let her walk away before rekindling the fire that burned so hotly between them before.

I was instantly hooked on the story. I'm a sucker for a good second chance romance, especially one between a tortured pro hockey player and a ballsy sports agent. I loved Dekker's smart mouth and stiff spine. Although admittedly, the longer she went without admitting to Hunter's question on why she was there, the more frustrated I became with her. She was stuck between doing her job to sign him and save their agency and knowing she's barely resisting the temptation of the man that stole her heart. It was a torture dance of frustration and wanting to shake her to just admit it to him.

Hunter was impossible not to love. My heart hurt so badly for him. Especially as we got more and more details on all that transpired to bring him to where he is today. His relationship with his family and his brother broke my heart. I blubbered like a baby through a good chunk of it.

This was the start of what is definitely going to be one incredible series, if this book is anything to go by. I was glued to the pages, put through the ringer of emotion, and SO FREAKING INVESTED. If you love a good sports romance, welcome to your next addiction! Seriously. This one is not to be missed!

-Falling for someone is never the plan. One day, you just wake up and it's there in full-freaking, high-definition color.

Hunter Maddox is one of the best in the NHL. He's had a phenomenal career with a wonderful reputation. As the face of the LumberJacks, the team is counting on him to lead them, and win the Cup. He's under a lot of pressure, and can't afford to let anyone down, but lately he's consumed by the past, and struggling. He's at the top of his game, but his recent antics off the ice are uncharacteristic. He feels like he's losing control, and his gifts feel more like a curse. Then a woman from his past shows back up in his life and shakes things up. Dekker is the one that got away, and he's never forgotten her. She soon becomes the only person that seems to make him smile these days. Suddenly she's traveling with the team, and he has to make sure he doesn't get distracted or lose sight of his goals.

Dekker Kincade's family owns a sports management company in New York. She loves her job as a sports agent, and is all business. When she's given the assignment to bring over a new athlete to their agency, she's up for the challenge. Then she learns it's her ex Hunter Maddox. The player she's to recruit is the captain and star of his team. He's too valuable to not go after, so she has to succeed and keep things professional. His talent and skills in the arena are undeniable, so she must woo him over to their side, but that doesn't mean she can forget what they shared, or how mind blowing it was when they touched. She still remembers EVERYTHING!!! She's never been able to resist him, but if she has any hopes of making him a client, she can't break the rules.

-There’s something about him that makes you stare. And savor. All man, all arrogance, with a hint of boy beneath the surface who’s living out his dream.

-We may be oil and water, but between the sheets, hell, we're a goddamn masterpiece.

Hard to Handle by K. Bromberg is an enemies to lovers, second chance, hockey sports romance that is the first in her all new Play Hard series. Each book is a standalone about one of the four Kincade sisters. This story was sexy, seductive, and deeply emotional. It's packed with angst, explosive chemistry, strong females, and delicious, alpha athletes. It centers around the healing power of love as this couple take you on a beautiful journey of self discovery. I can't wait to read more in this fantastic series!

If you like sports romances, you will love this story. It's the first book in the series and can be read as a standalone. Dekker and her sisters run an agency owned by their father that represents athletes. When her father assigns her a hockey player to sign on with their agency, Dekker is shocked by who her father suggests, but she is up for the challenge. The only problem is she and Hunter have a past. Can she rise above her unresolved feelings and get Hunter to sign on the dotted line without becoming emotionally involved, or is their past too much to overcome, leaving Dekker coming home empty handed.

This book was Everything I've come to expect from K. Bromberg! It's one of the best reads of 2020 for me. K. Bromberg brings out all of the emotions. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will love this story. It's well-written and very emotional at times, and a definite must read.

Hard to Handle is the first book in what promises to be another blockbuster sports romance series by K Bromberg. Hunter is a hockey superstar who is full of himself and confident with his game (both on and off the ice). In addition to his wins in the rink, he is also quite the ladies man. Dekker is a sports agent who works for her father and with her sisters. When her dad asks her to recruit Hunter to their agency, she knows she has numerous obstacles to overcome. The number one problem being the way she feels about her old flame Hunter. Although they were supposed to have been just "friends with benefits", Dekker cannot help but remember how Hunter had (or maybe still has) infiltrated her heart. Hunter is not shy about toying with Dekker and despite being slightly distracted from the game, he welcomes Dekker back into his life. As Hunter and Dekker become "reacquainted" their insecurities begin to resurface and Dekker discovers the depth of the baggage Hunter is carrying. When it comes to winning Hunter over to her agency or winning over his heart, Dekker isn’t sure if either will be possible.

"...your next tomorrow is never guaranteed."
Told in multiple POV, Hard to Handle offers a complex hockey romance with a complex plot, sports action, and nonstop smoking hot passion. As always, K Bromberg has crafted a world with flawed characters who are doing their best to overcome the challenges of life. The frenemies vibe between Dekker and Hunter is a constant push and pull as the two struggle to find their way together. The passion between the two is undeniable and the family element (between the siblings) will certainly tug at your heartstrings as the family dynamics is a constant presence throughout.
"I've got you..."
Overall, K. Bromberg has always been a force to be reckoned with when it comes to creating contemporary romance. I will never forget my first love COLTON from the Driven Series and Hard to Handle has reignited some deep-rooted love for a new group of sports-loving characters. I look forward to reading more about this sports agency and these characters.

KMS - Kincade Sports Managment.
That's widowed dad-boss Kenyon Kincade and his four daughters.

And daddy needs his girls to save the company - or something. ☺

First up is Dekker.

She's sent off to sign hockey legend Hunter Maddox.

Little problem?! They used to have a thing a few years back ...

Let the fun times begin ...

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH DEKKER & HUNTER?
WILL THERE BE A HAPPY END?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT

description

Well, that was cute.
I really enjoyed reading this.

Poor Hunter is going through something. We don't yet know what is wrong with him and his family. But something is happening or happened and it's not good for his career. And his current agent is not really helping. Let's hope Dekker will be able to find out what's wrong.

And of course we finally want that HEA for them too.

Really adorable. And heartbreaking.

Lots of hockey. Lots of family drama. Lots of fighting and making up.

It was maybe a bit too much of that back and forth. The book could've been a hundred pages shorter and nothing would be missing.

But it was a really fun and sexy and emotional sports romance!

Can't wait to read the other books!

4.5 'Skill. Stick. Finesse' Stars!
ARC provided via Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.

By now, I already know that K. Bromberg always knows how to start a series with a bang. This one was no exception! I love me a hot sportsman and I believe we are getting four new ones from Kristy in her new Play Hard series. I am definitely not complaining! The woman knows how to create complex and lovable characters, how to build the tension and chemistry between the couples and how to bring all the emotions. Hunter and Dekker have that and so much more, so get ready to fall in love with them and this whole new crew!

Hard to Handle is the first installment in Bromberg’s Play Hard series. These books will be focused on four sisters who have now the mission to help save their father’s sports agency (Kincade Sports Management) by getting a new client each. The first one is Dekker and she is supposed to sign Hunter Maddox, the most wanted man in hockey and the man who happened to broke her heart years ago. But these two people are a bit broken and it’s not easy for them to reunite again. Sparks fly, heartbreaking drama builds and the emotions run high. Will these two get their second chance?

My soul knows that love always ends in pain and loneliness.

Can I just say I freaking love K. Bromberg? Ever since she gave us Colton, I’ve been ready for more sportsman to love. Kristy is one of the authors that writes the most wonderful broken heroes and Hunter was perfection. He starts showing his asshole self but when you start peeling all those layers that protect his heart, it’s all pure sweetness inside. He has so much weight on his shoulders and so much guilt, it was impossible for me not to love this broken man. I loved getting to know all his facets and how Dekk is the one that brings him back to life when he most needs it. And Dekker is just as amazing. Also broken, a successful business woman and afraid to love this man so much, but she is strong and has great people around her to support her. These two just know how to bring the best in each other.

Fuck if I don’t feel invisible strings tying me up in the biggest fucking knot I’ve ever seen or felt before.
One that has her at the goddamn center of it.

And I always say this but second-chance romances are probably one of my favorite troupes in romance. And trust me, Hunter and Dekk bring it on. The tension, the angst, the chemistry and the emotions are all over the place. Overall, an amazingly developed relationship. I just loved this couple! They know to balance their crazy lives, the drama around them, their families and the building of their relationship. Both afraid to love each other but it’s so clear they have so many feelings from the very start and they just belong together. After everything, I am so happy they got their HEA.

“No more tears.”
“Just tomorrows.”
His smile returns. “Just tomorrows.”

Therefore, I am rating Hard to Handle with 4.5 STARS because this hate to love, second-chance romance was the perfect way to start the Play Hard series. I already love all these characters and this couple completely stole my heart. I loved seeing them together, their beautiful connection and how they support each other. It was very emotional but that is what I expect from Kristy and she did a brilliant job. I loved Hunter and Dekk and how their relationship developed. I simply cannot wait the rest of the stories in the series. Highly recommend!

This book was an emotional roller coaster I didn't see coming!
I cried, I laughed, I struggled and I loved every second of it!

K Bromberg once again got the story right, and left nothing to complain, compared to her other books that I love!

Second chance and Sports romance (Hockey Player and Sports Agent). Wonderful and hot combination.

Hunter is a hot NHL star with a lot of angry issues.
Dekker is a sports agent for her family business, responsible for recruiting the hot shot jock for her agency.
Hunter and Dekker have a past that didn't end up well... When they meet face to face 3 years later, it's bright as the sunlight, that the chemistry and interest in each other, is more alive than ever.

The two have difficulty in relationships, and above all, in allowing themselves to love and to be loved.
Seeing them face their demons, and fight their psychological and emotional limitations daily, is incredible!
Dekker is everything Hunter needs, but never thought he deserves, and Hunter is everything Dekk deserves, but never allowed herself to have.
So much happens in their lives, without them being in control, but even so, the weight is always heavy on their shoulders.

Exciting, captivating, funny, passionate, intense and that made me lose hours of sleep last night!

I won't go any further to avoid spoilers, but just for your known, it was worth every minute of lost sleep!

I want to keep Hunter all for me!

I can't wait to read her sisters' book...

_____________###_____________

Quero guardar o Hunter pra mim!

Mal posso esperar pra ver o livro das irmãs...

I was very reluctant to give this series a try, mainly because I sometimes struggle with this author. If it wasn’t for one of my favorite narrators, Jacob Morgan, I might have skipped it. The beginning wasn’t bad, and I did enjoy learning about Hunter and Dekker and what happened in their previous relationship. Why did they walk away from each other? However, halfway through, it started to drag for me and I almost was going take a break. Thank goodness I didn’t because I ended up really enjoying their story.

I was absolutely surprised how angsty it was, I even teared up a few times. All in all, it was a solid 4.5 stars.

Hard to Handle was a heart-trembling sports, enemies-to-lovers and second chance romance. Hunter’s and Dekker’s story packed quite an emotional punch and had such feels and heart to it.

Hunter Maddox is a damaged alpha with so much on his shoulders and resting heavy on his heart and soul. The more I got to know him, the more I wanted to shower him with love. There were times I wanted to literally shake him but even then I could not hate him. Because beneath his anger and frustrations was a playful, witty, and skilled Hunter that just needed to find himself.

Dekker Kincade is an amazing agent who can give as good as she gets. I loved that she can stand her own in a workplace that is mainly dominated by men. Despite her own fears, I also loved how resilient she was without coming off as a doormat. Knowing just when to push and when to give.

The chemistry and sexual tension between the two were fiery. It was fantastic seeing how their physical compatibility morph into something deeper. They fought and fought, spitting jabs that stung but they needed one another. It was those angry moments that were the catalyst in breaking down the walls around their heart. And in the end, it was all worth it.

I’m so frickin happy that Hunter and Dekker found each other and so excited for the rest of the series.

Hard to Handle is definitely the perfect combination of my favorite tropes; enemies to lovers, sport romance and second chances. This is the beginning of the Play Hard series by K. Bromberg and she definitely started with a bang.

When I started this book I was not expecting for it to be so emotional. The type of story that brakes you and put you back together. I have all the feels with Hard to Handle. It was sexy, passionate, fun, emotional and a page turner.

The story brings you KSM (Kincade Sport Management) where Dekker Kincade and her 3 sisters work as agents to superstars athletes. The company is in need of new fresh talent and Dekker’s dad is sending her to bring in the most coveted and talented hockey player on the NHL to be part of their team. What he doesn’t suspect it’s that Dekker already knows PRETTY WELL the devastatingly handsome, cocky and brooding hockey star, Hunter Maddox. Dekker and Hunter together again after years? Only one thing I’ll say, Let’s the fun times begin!!!!

“Sure, you’re telling me you don’t think of me, but your eyes”—he emits a guttural hum in the back of his throat—“they’re telling me you can’t stop thinking about me . . . because as you know, I’m the triple threat.”

“Triple threat?” “All stick, all finesse . . . all stamina.”

There’s so much more than a good banter with this couple; which by the way was pretty fun to witness. I love the back and forward between them. Both with determined and strong personalities. There’s so much depth to Hunter’s broodiness and difficult attitude. So much more for Dekker’s strong persona.

“She’s a savior and a sinner, and I’m not quite sure which one I need to hold on tighter to. But I do know one thing. I want both.”

I wont tell you more because then where is the fun of you discovering all the secret between this two characters. Just know that it was the perfect beginning for this serie of standalone and get ready for a hell of a ride.

***I voluntarily read and review an advance copy of this book.

Hard to Handle is the first novel in Kristy's Play Hard Series of interconnected standalones. The focus is around four sisters who work at their family Sport's Recruitment & PR Agency. The heroine of the story Dekker Kincaide is tasked by her Father with the responsibility of recruiting the NHL's best Hockey player who also happens to be her previous lover from 3 years prior. Hunter Maddox is that player, a bit of a hot head on the ice, but is hot commodity with fans, teams and representatives a like.

Hunter drives this novel for me, his story line is one that over takes the other aspects of the novel. He has his demons and has been fighting with them for many years. Now with the Stanley cup in his sights things are overwhelming Hunter, his family hang up's are raging war with his mind and heart. Hunter comes across as an arrogant, cocky and egotistical; but underneath it all is a damaged man. Dekker is the woman who can break his walls down and help heal the wounds that have been left open for the last 15 years of his life.

Dekker is a likeable character but as Hunter dominates the book, you don't really get to learn all that much about her so the connection is lacking a little there for me. I liked the potential in the relationship with her sisters and their Father; however I do feel she was the perfect match for Hunter.

The romance elements of the novel didn't click for me until almost half way through when one playful snowball fight cemented the deal for Hunter and Dekker in my mind. I thought the story line between Hunter and his Father was impactful; but what really stood out was Hunter's bond with his brother Jonah. There were some beautiful moments in the book between these two brothers that captured my heart and Kristy's writing really stood out here to showcase the emotion needed to really resonate.

Overall I enjoyed Hard to Handle, a little slow to start on the romance and a lack of depth to the heroine. Perhaps some flashbacks of the couple or some earlier chapters on their previous relationship 3 years ago may have reinforced that connection? I definitely enjoyed it enough to read more in the series.

I was totally consumed by this breathtaking, emotional, and sizzling second chance romance. This journey through love, loss, hope, and healing will have you in tears of heartbreak and joy! Hunter is the captain of his hockey team on the road to winning the cup and achieving personal goals. But he has demons that he keeps hidden and the pressure he's experiencing is soul crushing. Dekker is a sports agent working for her father and sisters in their family business. They need to make some changes and scoring Hunter as a client would be huge. Her father sends Dekker on a scouting and recruiting mission, not knowing that Dekker and Hunter had a passionate affair 3 years ago that ended in heartbreak. Traveling with the team puts Dekker and Hunter in close contact, bringing back long buried feelings and blurring professional lines. They both have tragic pasts that keep their hearts guarded, not willing to open up to more pain. They both are so blinded by what they believe as truth, they miss the love around them. But their souls cry out to each other, they see what others miss and provide a comfort and strength no one else can provide. I felt their pain so strongly, that there were moments that I wanted to put the book down and cry for them, but then I couldn't stop reading. I loved both Hunter and Dekker, they felt real and authentic and their relationship was so raw, poignant, and hard fought. They were so perfect for each other and their chemistry was palpable. I love that Ms Bromberg did not cut corners but allowed us to feel every thought, and emotion that Hunter and Dekker experienced. Her writing is so beautiful, and moving, and the banter and levity between her characters makes them feel genuine and easy to relate to. I loved everything about this mesmerizing story of hope, second chances, forgiveness and unconditional love. What a great start to this new 'Play Hard' series of standalone stories! I can't wait to read more about Dekker's sister's next!

ALL. THE. FEELS! Heart wrenchingly beautiful, soul soaringly powerful and mind blowingly sexy, Hard To Handle, is THE second chance romance, second chance at a love and second chance at life! Hunter and Dekker’s story pulled at ALL my heart strings, and I can honestly say, my heart is FULL! Skill, Stick, Finesse, all the way!

This completely wrecked me! In the best of ways that is. I don't know how K. Bromberg does it, but she manages to flawlessly pack a TON full of emotion in one single story, so much so I end up feeling like my heart went through the best of workouts, because even days after finishing, my mind is still there, together with Hunter and Dekker.

This two main characters, were so masterfully written I felt every single one of their emotions: Hunter's self deprecation, his world heavy guilt, his pain, the internalization of his feelings, gahhhh... I was crying for him, seriously, even this black hearted woman, could not bear the enormous weight and suffering on his broad shoulders. And Dekker, what a brilliant leading lady, I adored her honesty, her strength and specially her bickering relationship with her sisters - whom I can't wait to read about - she was just the perfect half for Hunter, because she GOT him, she recognized his broken, as it were a match for her own.

Their chemistry was palpable and INSANELY hot, but what I adored even more was their true connection, they were each other's person, and I ADORED every minute of them together.

The rawness of the emotional charge that I did not anticipate, the beautifully flawed and damaged characters, and the EPIC love story that is Hard to Handle will forever stay in my heart. Ms. Bromberg truly stole my heart, yet again, with the simultaneously lifelike and idillic forever kind of love, and I can't wait for more!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

One hell of a release. A must read, for anyone who believes in pure and true happiness. This book is pure perfection. When I say Kristy knocks it out of the arena, I mean she knocks it out!!!! Where does one start with magic. Let's start with Hunter, gosh he is dreamy. A man that is delt a crap hand, living a life with guilt and no one to love him finds his true match in Dekker. The strength and growth Hunter fines is inspiring for anyone. He's a true man that anyone would be proud of. Hunter is a hero in so many ways. Dekker is pure perfection!! A take charge, feisty women willing to do all she can for her family and herself. The relationship Dekker has with her dad is true love. I love all his wise words of wisdoms Dekker's dad has for his daughter. The magic between Hunter and Dekker is amazing the push and pull. The ups and downs. The sexual tension, that leaves you wanting more and giving you all you need at the same time. The way Dekker steps up for herself and the man she loves. This book made you feel like you were on this ride with them. The characters pulled you in, making you feel what they felt. This was one of my favorite Kristy books. I cant wait to read about the other sister. Amazing job!!!

It's a sports romance about Hockey by one of my favorite authors, I couldn't wait to dive into this book. Being busy with my full time job, it's allowed me the time to enjoy the book slowly. I usually finish books in 1-2 sittings and don't really retain much of the book but with this book I've been picking it up for an hour here and there in my me time in the morning and reading for a few hours in the evening after work and errands.

Kristy has done it again. Hard to Handle was an amazing book! A lot of sports romances don't have a lot in them about the sport the hero plays but Kristy wrote a lot about the game in this one. Its a 5+ star read that almost had me in tears at times and then smiling ear to ear at others. It's a must read.

Hunter Maddox is a thirty something NHL hockey player who you fall in love with right away. He's the typical athlete alpha. Dekker describes him perfectly in the book "Complicated and multi-layered, incredibly gifted, a god in the sack, yet troubled by something significant" I don't think I could describe him any better.

Dekker is not your typical heroine. She's full of sass and takes it as good as she gets it. She's an agent for her fathers agency and is asked by her dad to sign Hunter as a client with the family business. Her and Hunter were lovers years ago, friends with benefits type deal that ended when she developed feelings for him.

Watching the buildup between the two of them felt real. She doesn't feel like she can love or be loved by a man and Hunter has ghosts in his past that has him believing hes not good enough to be in a relationship. Hockey is all he needs, all he has time for.

I loved the subtle reference Kristy put in this book that referenced her very first book, Driven. With Dekker being a sports agent, I kept waiting to see Colton or Zanders name pop up in conversations. Coincidence that Hunters jersey number is 13? My hometown teams colours are red and white like the LumberJacks so I think I need to get a jersey made with the number 13 on it.

This was the perfect start to the series!! Hunter (H) and Dekker (h) were one hell of a pair, I absolutely loved their dynamic/banters, but I honestly didn’t expect the book to be so intense. I cried so many times throughout the book that I lost count. 🤧 Hunter’s backstory was heartbreaking and I truly felt for him. There were times he frustrated me, but it was hard to stay mad at him for long because, in the end, he just needed to find that special someone who can take his shit. I admired Dekker's strength and ability to not back down, even when things got tough. I’m such a softie that I feel like, if I was in Dekker’s position, I definitely won’t be able to survive lol but I loved her personality!

The one thing I find interesting about the premise of this series is the dynamic between the four sisters. They rarely get along cause each one is so different from the other but, if you look deeper, it’s obvious they love and care for each other (that sister talk-bond between Dekker and Brexton warmed my heart 🥺). I’m definitely curious to see the stories for the other three sisters and who will steal their hearts (and if I’m gonna cry to the extent of losing count again). 💓

Yes YES, a new series by K. Bromberg!! I've read most of her books (the Driven series being one of my all time favorites) and she hasn't disappointed me yet! I'm so excited for this. :)

All of a sudden I'm a hockey-loving girl and it's all thanks to K. Bromberg and Hunter Maddox. This sports romance has more than just all the feels. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that will have you on the edge of your seat while you watch and wonder how two people who have fallen for each other in the past manage to deny and hide their feelings so well for each other now. Dekker Kincade is my girl!!! She takes no prisoners and hides her feeling for Hunter as she tries to persuade him to sign with her family's sports agency. She isn't going to let her heart get damaged (again) as she tries to woe him over to their side. Hunter Maddox is hiding something. Something that is tearing him apart and his on and off the ice behaviour isn't winning him any new fans. The angst and emotion is high as these two reconnect. It will make you smile. The banter between the sisters is great but be warned there are parts of this story that will pull on your heartstrings and the possibility of tears is high. Can Dekker find out what is haunting Hunter? Will Hunter let Dekker in? Is their sexual chemistry off the charts? You bet it is!!! As always K. Bromberg delivers everything we want and need in a romance.
Hunter Maddox is going to win a lot of hearts as we find out if he is too Hard to Handle.

Hard to Handle is book one in K. Bromberg’s new Play Hard series, which centers around four sisters trying to save their family’s sports management firm. I was pleasantly surprised by how touching it is.

First up is Dekker, the oldest sister. She is assigned to recruit Hunter, a star hockey player who also happens to be her ex-lover. Before she can convince him to sign with the company, though, she must figure out why the previously level-headed and respected captain is suddenly volatile.

Hunter was the main draw for me in this story. He’s a tormented hero – a walking emotional landmine. It’s painful to observe sometimes, but the author makes it easy to empathize with him. I just wanted to hug him throughout. Dekker is so perceptive and protective. I loved her compassionate heart. While Hunter is doggedly fixated on winning the Stanley Cup, Dekker is equally tenacious in trying to break down his walls. I enjoyed their tension, flirting, and chemistry.

There is a lot of focus on Hunter’s turbulent relationship with his parents and his brother. That’s really the heart of this story for me and what makes it so impactful, but the series is supposed to be about the four sisters. Not enough time is spent establishing their individual personalities or their relationships between each other. Hopefully, we’ll see more of that in future books. If the other books in the series are anything like Hard to Handle, I expect lots of emotion and passion.

I love stories The K. Bromberg, I think she can do with her stories create a unique universe and bring fantastic stories to her readers and here was no different. I loved this book from beginning to end.

Here we have the story of Dekker and Hunter, characters who already have a story that ended with unresolved feelings for both parties and now that Dekker was recruited by your father's agency to be the agent who brings Hunter to his company both end up facing to the front and the feelings resurrected. These two's journey is full of ups and downs and I've seen myself captivated by it.

Dekker is a strong protagonist, who fell in love with Hunter in the past, and now who goes after him for business, sees his feelings remain there. I liked her, she was really who he needed at the moment, because I didn't bow my head to him and made him up to her by little. I liked her relationship with your sisters and your father. Hunter was the character in the book for me, I just loved him.Looking from the outside he might look like a jerk, but every page I got to know him better and my heart broke for him. Hunter was facing a difficult time, letting the guilt beat him and Dekker's return made him little by little trust and opening up with someone, made him realize he deserved to be loved. The romance of both was very well developed, since the funny, witty devils swapped for them, like hot and Sedex moments shared and romantic and sweet.

Hard the Handle is the first book of a promising author K.Bromberg who brings a book that made me laugh, cry, want to embrace characters and also enter the book to beat others. A book that brought a beautiful, emotional, and also fun history of second chances and sports romance and has made me miss these characters.

ALL THE FEELS! Second chance Sports romance!

What a start to a new series!
Dekker and Hunter are everything! Their chemistry is electrifying, you can feel it between them on the first meet, there’s this easiness between them, and the banter despite the hurt still there.

Hunter Maddox is hot flirty and cocky, and it seems he is carrying so much anger but Dek knows something is causing this and she cares too much to let him spiral out of control and throw away his successful career.

This story will have you laughing at the banter ,crying with the emotions and melting at the romance!

Already can’t wait for the next sister !

Hard to Handle checks every single box. K. Bromberg hit it out of the Arena. I fell head over heels in love with Hunter Maddox and all his broken pieces. Dekker was perfectly matched to Hunter in every way. This book left me speechless, hit all the emotions and made me wanting more. I still can't let go of those feisty, funny, Kincade Girls. I can't wait to read which sister may be next.

It would be hard not to love Hard to Handle, a tale that took over my heart the whole time reading. In Hard to Handle, K. Bromberg masterfully intertwines the thrilling sport of hockey with a hard fought battle of love and life. You can just feel the appreciation for the sport, the camaraderie, the competition, the rivalry, and the love of the game.

I was instantly thrust into this journey of words where I had front row seats to thrilling hockey matches, crushed on a tough-as-nails hero and heroine as I rooted for their happily ever after, and cried and clapped my way through this meaningful sports romance that truly matters. A sports romance full of strength, salvation, and soul with compelling and compassionate characters that made me feel every emotion as I smiled, swooned, and cried my way through this heart-thrashing tale. I LOVED EVERYTHING about Hard to Handle!

Hard to Handle is a heartfelt love story about a tortured sports super star and the strong-willed and compassionate agent who pieces his broken parts together, forging a powerful bond that is bigger than both of them. I was instantly a goner for Hunter, so bold and broken—an alpha of alphas with a heart as big as his hockey stick. I couldn’t help but adore and admire Dekker, a stunning and strong heroine who’s the light to Hunter’s darkness, the wind beneath his wings.

”I give just as good as I get.”

K Bromberg crafts characters you can’t help but love—strong, stunning, and sometimes stubborn, but so full of passion, heart, and soul. Each of Bromberg’s heroes and heroines—like Hunter and Dekker—are an even match of smolder, strength, sass, and soul. Yin and yang. These complex characters of many layers owned my heart. I felt Hunter and Dekkers’ every emotion ... their push and pull, passion, angst, sorrow, elation, and adoration ... everything.

If the tumultuous emotions in his eyes could be expressed, I’d be drowning in them. Every single one.

I was so HOOKED on Hard to Handle, a sports romance that touched me everywhere ... so smartly written and so passionately told. A tale that took my breath, heart, soul, and tears. Its tension cut me like a knife, its sorrow slayed my soul, its heat and heart warmed me all over, and its strength shone so bright.

”Make what used to be your curse, now be your blessing.”

Hard to Handle opened up all my emotions. I cried tears of sorrow and swoon. I FELT IT ALL! This is so much more than a sports romance; it’s a soul-searing journey of self-discovery, humanity, heart, and healing. Hard to Handle is hands-down, a likely top 2020 romance, and I can’t wait to feel the rest of this heart-stopping series.

Emotionally overwhelming. Sinfully sexy. Hard to Handle is K. Bromberg at her very best. It's a breathtaking and soul deep story of two tortured souls perfect for each other!

Hunter Maddox is on way to break all the records of NHL and take his new team LumberJacks to playoffs. But he is not the dedicated and motivated team captain anymore. He is playing like a demon and his actions off field are getting difficult to manage. Volatile. Reckless. Angry. And Dekker Kincade needs him to sign up to their agency. But they have a past. That is full of passionate nights and rapid escapes. Can she get Hunter back to his former self? What is eating away Hunter? Will Dekker survive the casualties?

No one can write broken alphas like K. Bromberg. This is her strength and she played to it excellently. Hunter Maddox is a gorgeous and charming man. But he is drowning in shame, guilt and endless heartache. He is driving himself to the level of insanity and physical exhaustion trying to prove himself to his parents who really don't care about his success and achievements. My heart was shattered into so many pieces for him. Such an amazing man with loyalty, devotion, talent and protectiveness..and it hurt to bad to see him getting lost in darkness.

Dekker is his perfect healing touch. A fierce woman with no nonsense attitude, Dekker is a perfect balance of hard and soft. She isn't afraid to call Hunter out when he is running from his issues or hides them under anger. At the same time, she is also full of love and care and compassion for this beautifully broken man. She has own issues about commitment and abandonment. Their chemistry is nuclear hot. But their connection goes so much beyond explosive sex. It was an angsty journey where my heart ached so deeply for them. The writing was so much more than perfection. I felt every heartbreaking, infuriating and swoonworthy emotion.

Hard To Handle by K. Bromberg has claimed a part of my heart. The steamy pleasures. The heartaching emotions. The tension filled story line. An unforgettable and epic sports romance!

Hard To Handle This Book Ending…

In one sentence: This book is a game-winning goal for me!

Hunter is a hockey star. But something is off with his game both on and off the ice. And it’s starting to affect not only his game but the respect of his teammates.

Dekker is a sports agent working for her father’s sports management firm along with her three sisters. He tasks her with luring Hunter away from his current agent, Finn Sanderson. But can she recruit him before he self-destructs on the ice?

Without giving this book’s plot away, this book is so worth the read. Dekker is hard on the outside and a normal woman on the inside. She’s so multidimensional and realistic. And don’t get me going on Hunter. He’s such a hot lovable mess. You’ll be pulling for Hunter both on and off the ice (although there will be a couple of moments when you want to reach on in there and shake him by the shoulders and go really man?) as soon as I did. I give it five stars, five pucks, and five tennis balls.
