UN Climate Change Conference (COP) to be a coherent meeting

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, in charge of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP) - the world's most important meeting regarding climate change-, is not and cannot be completely consistent with its objectives and values when the event itself is causing great environmental damage.
The COP seeks global change through national and international commitments, where 196 countries, and more than 20,000 participants, meet annually to find ways to stabilize the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, thus, hopefully, slowing down climate change, and also finding ways to adapt to it. Due to the magnitude of this event, a large amount of waste is generated - including garbage, emissions, energy inefficiency - these having an impact on the collective and individual awareness of people regarding climate change. A consistent COP means advancing comprehensively in the fight against climate change, considering all areas which need to be taken into account for achieving an important impact, valued and respected by everyone.
Because of this, we, as a civil society, demand that the United Nations ascribes to these new minimum standards, so that the COP becomes a consistent event that accomplishes its main objective, reducing the environmental impact on the planet.
The minimum standards are:

7. Zero waste
8. Emissions
9. Suppliers
10. Funding
11. Participation
12. Ethics
13. Freedom of speech and activism
14. Transparency

La CMNUCC, a cargo de la Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre cambio climático (COP), la conferencia mundial más importante sobre este tema, no está siendo totalmente consecuente con sus objetivos y valores al generar un alto impacto ambiental durante el evento .
La COP busca hacer cambios globales a través de compromisos nacionales e internacionales, donde 196 países y más de 20.000 personas se reúnen anualmente con el fin de estabilizar las concentraciones de gases de efecto invernadero en la atmósfera y de esta forma frenar el cambio climático y también adaptarse a este.
Debido a la magnitud de este evento, se genera una gran cantidad de desechos, basura, emisiones, ineficiencia energética y una serie de otros impactos que tienen una influencia importante en la conciencia colectiva e individual de las personas con respecto al cambio climático. Una COP consecuente significa avanzar de manera integral en la lucha contra el cambio climático, considerando todas las áreas que deben tenerse en cuenta para lograr un impacto importante, valorado y respetado por todos.
Debido a esto, nosotros, como sociedad civil, exigimos a las Naciones Unidas que se adscriba a estos nuevos estándares mínimos, para que la COP sea un evento consecuente que cumpla con su objetivo principal, reducir el impacto ambiental en el planeta.
