VENICE’S canals have gon-dola after weeks without rain to show off their muddy bottoms.
The lagoon city has seen its famous gondolas stuck on dry land near the Rialto Bridge on the Venice Canal Grande and across the city.
A mix of low tides and a lack of rain has seen water levels drop to a record low of 70cm, creating a surreal atmosphere in the Italian tourist hotspot.
The tide troubles also caused chaos for the waterways in the historic city centre as traffic struggled to move.
