Huawei may be gearing up to launch their next flagship - the Huawei Mate 30 Series in October but the company certainly hasn't stopped announcing mid-rangers in other markets.
At an event in Malaysia, Huawei took the wraps off a new premium mid-range smartphone - the Nova 5T. The phone features a Kirin 980, quad rear cameras, a fingerprint scanner baked into the power button on the side and a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera. The Huawei Nova 5T will retail for RMB 1599 which translates to approximately INR 27,000 and will start selling from September 7.
In terms of specifications, the phone packs a 6.26-inch FHD+ LCD display with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels. The HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset is clocked at 2.6GHz and comes paired with a Mali-G76MP10 GPU, which should easy chomp through daily tasks, as well as, heavy games - well, at least in theory. Huawei's also thrown in 8GB of RAM aong with 128GB of onboard storage.

For optics, the Nova 5T's quad-camera setup comprises of a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture; a 16Mp Ultra Wide Angle lens with f/2.2 aperture; a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture; and a 2MP depth of field sensor to assist with portrait shots. The camera unit is accompanied by an LED flash and phase detection autofocus. The 32MP selfie shooter, meanwhile, comes with an aperture of f/2.0 which resides inside the punch-hole display.
The Nova 5T runs on Android 9 Pie with Huawei's familiar EMUI 9.1.1 interface on top. Powering the device is a 3700mAh battery unit that supports 22.5W fast charging, which as per Huawei's claims, juices the phone to up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
Considering how similar the Nova 5T sounds to the Honor 20 launched in India roughly three months back, its unlikely that Huawei's bringing this smartphone to Indian shores. However, that's just our hunch and not an official confirmation from Huawei, so you never know.
