This month we join in saluting Toronto Pride.
SING! is a model of diversity and has a history of supporting the Toronto LGBT2Q+ community.

“The SING! Vocal Arts Festival is one of my favourite festivals of the year in Toronto. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a headlining performer at the festival with The Nylons on more than one occasion, and I’ve also been able to take in many of the fabulously talented and diverse vocal ensembles on the program. Music of all styles and performers from all walks of life are on different stages, and provide informative and fun workshops.”
Gavin Hope, singer

SING! is proud to have presented The Kinsey Sicks, "America's Dragapella® Beautyshop Quartet" twice in Toronto, to standing ovations.  For more than 25 years they have served up a feast of music and comedy to audiences at theatres, concert halls, cabarets and comedy festivals across the US and around the world!

SING! 2014 was headlined by the Nylons and the Kinsey Sicks

“It was such a thrill to perform at SING! and be showcased among a diverse array of high-quality a cappella talent from around the world. We have a soft spot for our Canadian fans - who often ‘get’ our take on US politics more than our US fans - and the wildly enthusiastic crowd in Toronto did not disappoint. We were also honored to lead a workshop there and we greatly appreciate that SING! included our Dragapella® quartet in their mission to not just entertain, but to also educate and inspire audiences through the vocal arts.” Jeff Manabat, Music Director (aka "Trixie")

Much of the Kinsey Sicks work is funny and fun, but there is a serious side to the music that they create. Here is co-founder Ben Schatz (aka "Rachel"):
“Pride is a direct descendant of the Stonewall riots, and thus it's all about queer folks standing up and fighting for justice and equality. Our latest video carries that same message of Pride that people would expect of The Kinsey Sicks, and reminds us what Pride month really means and should mean.” Video: The Sound of Sirens  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZqgR2GW2KM

The Kinsey Sicks' award-winning a cappella singing, sharp satire, and over-the-top drag have earned them a diverse and devoted following.  As they tongue-in-cheek say, Don’t Be Happy – Worry! Video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkxBskRGqC4

And a bit of behind the scenes prep: joining drag queens, makeup lovers, and makeover addicts the world over, America's Favorite Dragapella® Beautyshop Quartet take you into their homes during the pandemic as they don their drag for the #BrushChallenge!
