Chloe

I was a single mother with nothing to offer him. The last thing I needed was a complication in my life.

My heart was off limits, but it didn’t take long for him to wear me down with his gorgeous smile and charming ways.

I was a fool to think we could last.

Even though I did the right thing for the wrong reason, it didn’t matter in the end.

Secrets always have a way of coming out, and I was keeping the biggest one of all.

Jack

I was living the good life. Or so I thought?

Until I stumbled into a little costal Carolina diner for a cup of coffee, and my world started to shift and change in a way that I never saw coming.

I thought she would be mine forever.

Until her ex reappeared back in her life.

They say that every story should have a happy ending, but I would settle for a happy middle, because I’m not sure we’ll even make it to the end.

They never expected to find each other but life had other plans for them!!

To Jack, trust is something that was important to him especially when he had seen how trust had destroyed a relationship so the natural thing was to avoid them at all cost. But Chloe was a game changer and he knew it in his heart-despite fighting it. Chloe just wanted to raise her son Tanner and live her non existent life, quietly....but Jack came in barreling into her quiet life and bringing sparks and sound to it!!

Could these two individuals that had suffered heartbreak make it work? Would they allow love and happiness to penetrate their lives? Would they have the courage to allow themselves to be happy for once? Be prepared to get lost in their story. Kara~ 4.5 Stars

This was a very great story about complicated relationships. My heart was torn when I read this book because I wanted so badly for things to go so smoothly for Jack and Chloe but you know what they say about relationships you have to work at them. This is so true with Jack and chloe because Chloe comes with some serious secrets and a child and Jack comes with some insecurities that ramp up when things start to get hot.

I really enjoyed how this was a slow build up to a relationship because there was a child involved which I loved Chloe's son. Jack showed Chloe that all she had to do was let go and trust in him and things would work out. This was hard for Chloe at first but in the end she had to make some seriously hard decisions.

This was a really cute single mom and opposites attract romance. It had that wholesome feel too it but also had a lot of heart and attraction that could burn up your reading device. Chloe and Jacks dynamic was fun and flirty but as the story progresses I love seeing the heart to hearts that they have. There was some push and pull when it come to the relationship but it wasn’t too much. There’s not a whole lot more to say other then I really enjoyed the story. I hope hot neighbor gets a book because he has me intrigued at the point. I plan to go back and read the books that involve Jacks friends because they were a great addition to this story. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Beautiful second chance romance

Hard To Leave
is the third book in the Hard To Series and can most definitely be read as a standalone. I haven't read the two previous books, but after reading this one, that is definitely going to be rectified. From the outset I easily fell for Chloe, Jack and young Tanner. These were characters that found a place in my heart without even really trying.

Chloe is a single mum. Tanner is her adorable son. The last eight years have not been easy for Chloe, but she is content with the life that she has built for herself and Tanner, she has a comfortable home and a job working as a waitress in a small town diner. But Chloe harbours a secret, one that could potentially change the lives of both herself and Tanner. She's also a woman who has built barriers, ones that she doesn't want to see knocked down, but ones that may tumble when jack walks into her life.

Jack loves living the single life, he's not ready for a relationship of any kind, especially after experiencing the disaster of his parent's marriage. A death in the family brings him back to the small town where he spent many of his summers. Walking into the diner will change his perspectives and his life forever.

This was an emotional read that will bring out every emotion that you can possibly feel. Chloe and Jack's relationship will pull on every heart string, there's heartache, joy, frustration, secrets and elation. When Brogan, a man from Chloe's past, reenters her life things become even more complicated.

A wonderful read from a very talented author.

Hard To Leave by S. Jones was an emotional and angst-filled read. This is the third book in the Hard series, but the first one I have read. I did not feel lost and enjoyed the story as a standalone.

Chloe is a single mother who guards her heart fiercely. There is no time in her life for any type of difficulty or obstacle to stand in her way and Jack is a big kind of complication she does not need! She also has secrets she guards just as fiercely. Jack was a great guy but had insecurities he needed to deal with. Even so something about Chloe called to him.

Hard to Leave by S. Jones was an emotional and sexy read. Jack and Chloe were great together but had to endure so much. Secrets and past needed to be worked out between them. Their journey was not an easy one, but one I enjoyed. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series as well.

This book is the third in the Hard series and after reading the first two books in the series i knew i needed to read this one. This book series has to be one of the best series that i've ever read.
HARD TO LOVE (Book 1)
HARD TO STAY (Book 2)
HARD TO LEAVE (Book 3)

Jack is a 'Jack the lad' kind of fella and women throw themselves at him, this kind of makes it easy for him to choose whom ever he pleases and he does. He thought that he had everything he needed and he thought he had everything figured out in his life. Jack thought he was #livinghisbestlife. That was until one day shortly after his fathers death and after being thrown into running the family business he went into a diner and saw the woman he knew was different from every other woman. He knew he had to have her in his life, and he knew he had to spend the rest of his life with her.

Is it love at first sight??

Chloe is a hardworking single mum who always does the best she can for her son. Chloe hasn't been in a relationship for 7 years and her life does truly revolve around her son. She does work hard to make sure that he has everything that he needs. Then one day her life, heart and sex life were all awakened.
Jack and Chloe meet and everything changes forever. They fall in love very hard and very fast, however theirs a secret somewhere and secrets get in the way.

Will a secret spill out and destroy everything??

This book was a very easy to read and the story was easy to follow.
This book i feel could be read as a standalone or in the series as it didn't follow on although in small parts it does feature characters from the other books which i loved you can read it standalone although i would recommend you read the series.
The author has written this book beautifully like the others and i love her style of writing and how she describes things in great detail which is awesome.
I loved the characters in this book like the others, the author makes you fall in love with them although i have to say that Emily and Chase from (Book 1 ) will always be my favorite.
This book was awesome and i hope in the future this author writes more book series.
Thank You

This is one of those books that you never want to end. Chloe and Jack are opposites, but their chemistry is unavoidable. Jack is enjoying the single life until a family tragedy brings him to a little small town in the Carolina's.

Chloe is a single mother, working as a waitress, who just wants live a simple life and raise her son.

The second Jack and Chloe meet, you can't help but feel the connection. Chloe doesn't want any complications in her life, but it doesn't take long for Jack to wear her down. At first, Jack thinks of Chloe as a challenge, but it soon turns into so much more than that. Once their relationship takes off you fall in love with this couple and can't help but root for them.

Just when things are going great, Chloe's ex reappears back in her life. I didn't want to like Brogan, because I loved Jack so much. But Brogan turned out to be a pleasant surprise. There were times where this story was so emotional that I had to stop reading and take a break. It made me laugh, cry, swoon and smile.

Chloe's little boy Tanner was the highlight of this book. Jack is my favorite book boyfriend, and Chloe turned out to be a strong, determined woman who knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to fight for the man she loved. I loved this book so much. I really hope Brogan gets a book next. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes to get swept away in a love story that gives you all the feels. This a top 5 read of mine. I can't wait to see what this author has next.

What I liked/Didn’t Like: Complicated relationships are sometimes the best ones to fight for. I loved this book and the authors way of handling each of the characters pasts and current issues al while keeping the romance simmering in the background.

S Jones does a fantastic job of taking her readers on a great story telling journey in the complicated relationship between Emily and Jack. The author makes you want to see these two characters have a happy ending. Without spoiling the ending, I can say that these characters are "real" and the emotions and tension created in the story are relatable to anyone who has struggled to make it work. Loved the twist with Brogan and fell in love with Emily's almost too perfect little boy, Tanner. Great read!

Well written story with good characters.
Chloe's a single mother and works in a diner to support herself and her young son. A man was not on her radar!
Jack's known as a bit of a ladies man, when he's in town. But with his first sight of Chloe, that changes. He wants to get to know her.
Thus begins an attraction that could develop into more. But Chloe's past throws a spanner in the works just as she decides to give things a go with Jack. Will they eventually work things out or will Chloe be the one that got away?

Terrific story!!

Chloe and Jacks story is about finding what your heart truly wants. Both Chloe and Jack weren’t dating and didn’t have time in their lives. Chloe had a seven year old son and Jacks father had just passed away, leaving him the business to run. Chloe was from South Carolina and Jack lived in New York. Their connection took them both by surprise and it was a roller coaster ride to make it work.

I was immediately sucked in. I cried more than once and I couldn't put it down. I'm not usually into the romantic mushy stories but this was so amazing and definitely worthy of a reread multiple times!

This was an okay read. To be honest I struggled to feel the connection between Jack and Chloe. Then when we find out about the secret she keeps from Brogan I felt she was selfish and I found it hard to root for her to get her HAE.

Ugh. No

I could barely get through this. The heroine was sooo annoying. Stupid and duplicitous and too full of herself. She was a liar and it's bad enough that she harmed people deeply, but she lied to her own child as well. Then when it blew up in her face she had the stones to get angry with those who called her out on it. Apparently she felt she was such a speshul snowflake she shouldn't have to pay any consequences. Real piece of work, that one.
But Lord was the way she chased after Jack a cringefest.
Here's a tip - when a guy says he's done and his reasons are justified, leave it be. Don't chase him and go all stalker. It's not cute or romantic, and I for one have no respect for people like her. I would have loved it if Jack had rejected her after the karaoke scene. That would have been epic. She would have deserved it.
Lame story. Not recommended.
