Women's Lacrosse Receives Preseason Rankings from IL, US Lacrosse

PHILADELPHIA – With a consistent standard of excellence, it is no surprise that the University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team enters the 2020 campaign ranked by both US Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse. The Quakers will enter the new year with their lofty expectations reinforced as they check in at No. 9 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Preseason Top-20, and at No. 15 in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Top-20.

Coming off its 13th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, Penn enters the new year aiming to win its 12th Ancient-Eight title since 2007. The Quakers look primed to do so as they return seven of last season's eight All-Ivy honorees—including unanimous first-team selections Erin Barry and Gabby Rosenzweig—as well as 100% of their scoring output.

Penn will be sure to challenge itself in 2020 as five of the Quakers' 15 opponents for the upcoming season also feature in the Preseason Top-20; including No. 2/3 Maryland, No. 4/4 Northwestern, No. 6/6 Princeton, No. 11/15 Loyola, No. 18 Duke, and No. 19/19 Georgetown.
